Henry J. Pearce, M.D. Bariatric Center

Dr. Pearce seemed nice enough, didn't really tell me anything I hadn't already learned from this site and others. But, I feel safe in his hands and have no problems trusting his skills. I didn't go to the group meeting, but he gave me a video of a meeting and I'm glad I didn't go - I would have fallen asleep. If you have done TONS of research, like I did - you will be so bored. But, like I said - I have no problems trusting my surgery to him.

I just went to my first meeting this last Tuesday.Dr. Pearce and his staff seemed very compassionate and caring.He has been doing this surgery for years and I feel as confident with him as I could feel doing something like this! I am now waiting for my insurance to let me know if they will approve it.This is scary!But..I know I will feel much better for doing it!:}

Dr.Pearce is a caring compassionate man who loves helping people. He sees them at their worst, but gives them hope.He has done about 3000..yes 3000 of the RNY surgeries. His staff is getting overwhelmed with all the new patients trying to get in.If you are in Oklahoma, you can feel confident with him.I have'nt had any problems, mainly due to the fact that he is so knowledgeable and has it down perfectly.I trusted him with my life, and he handed it back to me better than I gave it.I love Dr.Pearce.

I have only seen him at a seminar visit. My first app't is April 6.

Dr. Pearce is extremly thorough about details of RNY surgery,he takes time to answer any questions you may have in great detail. He is also a very laid back person.
His office staff is GREAT. They are very helpful, are never in a bad mood(with me anyway).
He is straight forward about the risks of this surgery. He will advise of all possible complications, and let you know what to expect post-op.
He really emphasizes aftercare, has a program of vitamins, also wants to see patient on a regular basis for one year post-op if possible.
At this time,I have had initial consultation by seminar,I would rate Dr. Pearce, and his staff 10 out of a possible 10
The only bad thing I have to say is that insurance procedure is soooooooo slow. Of course, that is my opinion, I'm sure insurance is slow everywhere.

Dr Pearce was really kind. I thought he answered all my questions in a very professional manner, even if I felt the questions were lame. He explained things to me, gave me a videotape of a seminar that he had done--which answered alot of my family's questions too.
He didnt make me feel like I was 3 inches tall for weighing 342lbs. He read my file and said "we need to do this"
Overall, with everything he was a 10 out of a 10.

My very first impression was, "man, he's old"
My impression changed the moment he spoke. He KNEW what he was talking about.
His office staff is SO NICE!! They remember me everytime I go in the office.
I have not had a bad experience in his office.
You will like him.
His after care is important - you will see him once a month, be prepared to weigh in and show him your scar.
yes, as I just stated.
He tells you the risks, up to death. It's a major surgery, it's no secret.
He is so awesome!
Both are great!

a very quiet & gental natured man, some one you just feel like hugging, which I did.
everyone that works with him and his patients are very friendly.
cant think of anything i didnt like about him
you dont have to convince him personaly of your battles with weight, he understands it very well and is very compasionate
he urges you to follow up but dosnt pressure you into unnesassary appointments.
he wants to see you once a month for a year and urges you to look into group counciling,
the risks of obiesity are far greater than the risks of the surgury.
1 being bad and 10 being good I would have to say 100000000000000000001
Both! I wouldnt put my life in the hands of anyone lacking either quality. And Dr.Pearce has a tremendouse amount of both!this is just my expeirence with him, you would have to decide for yourself how you feel about him.

I have contacted Dr Pearces office today and they said they would mail me out a packet and that Dr. Pearce likes his patients to attend a seminar at his office to go over the procedures. I spoke with my Dr. in chandler and he said he would refer me to a surgeon and he suggested Dr. Pearce also. The seminar is scheduled for feb. 12 2002, I am really excited about this, and worried. I lost alot of weight one time by virtually starving myself and gained it all back. I hope this doesn't happen again. I am off to join the Ymca today, I want to be strong for surgery. I will let you know more after I meet Dr. Pearce, I hope I get my packet today. I am so excited, I want to be able to ride my horses!
