He was very easy to talk to and did a real good job of explaining to us about the surgery.By the way there was five of us that went from the same town together for our consult and everyone liked him.

My first impression was that he was a very sensitive man. My impression has not changed in the least. My respect for him is greater now. His office staff is friendly, upbeat and very professional. I like the way he was totally honest with me about everything and the fact that he spent a good amount of time with me. Future patients should know that this is a really great guy. He emphasized after care a lot. He has a lot of literature for you to go over and is very patient with questions. He is not condescending. He has a very structured aftercare program. It is included in his surgeons fees. I thought he was great. He has done over 2000 gastroplasty surgeries and is board certified. He is not a "touchy" person (someone who would come up and pat you on the back if you were crying, but he is very professional! If you are thinking of using Dr. Shamblin, you won't be sorry. Having had my surgery on October 3rd, I feel it necessary to come back and share more opinions of my experience. I felt like Dr. Shamblin was there for me after the surgery while I was in the hospital and after I was released. He came to visit me several times every day that I was in the hospital and made sure I had a follow up visit scheduled before I left the hospital.. He gave me a complete check up on the first follow up visit. I look forward to the second. I still say that although he is not gushingly friendly, He does make you feel like he cares.
