Just a quick update: Dr. Ben-Meir and his entire team have moved to Lake Hospitals in Willoughby. Same great program!

It will be 4 years in February since my Bariatric Surgery by Dr Ben-Meir. I am still holding my 110 weight loss. I will always be grateful for his help. His expertise and knowledge about bariatric surgery enables patients to help achieve success. My health has improved 100% thanks to his help. His staff are supportive in preparing patients for their future. I have known many patients of other physicians not as successful because of either their choice of surgery type or the physicians were not equipped with supportive mental preparation for the surgery. Dietitians, meeting groups etc... All Bariatric surgeons and offices are not the same. Dr Ben-Meir is one of a kind. I cannot express how satisfied I have been with my surgery. AFTER SURGERY REVIEW
I wanted to add in another review, but it wouldn't let me so I'm adding an "after surgery review" in addition to my previous "before surgery" review.

I had a vertical sleeve gastrectomy on 2/19/14 with Dr. Ben-Meir and honestly, I couldn't have picked a better surgeon. He was absolutely fantastic, both pre-op AND post-op. The respect everyone has for him is just amazing...and I'm talking EVERYONE. Nurses, anestesiologists, Operating Room nurses, surgical assistants... everyone. I am SO glad that I found Dr. Ben-Meir and I could not have asked for a better surgeon. Also, everyone in the office is awesome as well. Brooke is amazing, she's always polite, excited and so caring. Same with Courtney! Alexis is knowledgeable and so easy to talk to, and of course, caring as well. Cindy..she's amazing as well. When I've gone in for an appointment, I feel like I'm going to visit family. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Ben-Meir and everyone in the office too. They've been there for me with everything. They've answered all my questions, reassured me, and have celebrated my weight loss with me, and will continue with me on my journey. I am SO thrilled.

BEFORE SURGERY REVIEW
I have met Dr. Ben-Meir twice now and I am completely impressed. I have just now read through the other reviews and I see that many other people have felt the same way. He is confident, yet not even close to being arrogant. He is absolutely 100% completely devoted to his patients. I can't wait to have the surgery, I know I will be in good hands. His statistics are amazing, he is positive, compassionate and is seriously dedicated to his standards of patient care. His practice runs like a well-oiled machine, he's a professional and answers every question completely clearly. I am thrilled to have found Dr. Ben-Meir.

My life began again on 2/23/05. I liked Dr Ben Meir from the start and working for DRS for well over 15 yrs I would know. He answered all my questions and my husbands in a very direct, honest but professional way. The staff that works w/ him had extreme compassion. Having been thin most of my life prior to having health issues that I treated w/ food. I saw how people who are thin treat others in cruel, disrespectful, inhumanly ways. If nothing less I learned if I ever became "healthy" againI would remember how awful and degraded I felt and for the rest of my life I vowed I would always treat everyone with kindness and compassion. Sounds simple but we ALL know how it feels to be "fat." Thanks again Dr Ben Meir , St. Vincent's and all the wonderful staff.

My first impression of Dr Ben-Meir : He is passionate about what he does. His office staff is helpful and understanding toward their patients. You should know that he has an amazing success rate and open door policy when it comes to questions/concerns. Aftercare is important and he emphasized this at every meeting. I am not one to care what my surgeon looks like in a photo vs in person, sense of humor, etc.my primary concern were his skills as a surgeon and support after. This program exceeded all my expectations in both areas. I suggest this program to everyone that shares with me an interest in weight loss surgery.

Dr Ben-Meir has been absolutely outstanding. Everyone at his practice has been so great and easy to work with. His partner Dr Salamone is also top-notch. I couldn't have ask for a better team of care providers!

I was a self pay for the VSG ( vertical sleeve gastrectomy) and because of this I decided to really research Dr.'s in Columbus, Ohio (close to where I live) and other surrounding areas and even surgeons in other states, looking for a Dr. I felt comfortable with but more importantly a Dr. who I felt was a qualified surgeon that I found personal trust in. Dr. Ben-Meir was and is that doctor. His office staff is amazing, the care I received from the nursing staff while in the hospital was beyond wonderful and I could not be happier with my decision.

THE NURSES ON THE FLOOR ARE THE BEST EVER I LOVE THEM ALL SO NICE,CARING AND THOUGHTFULL...I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO EVERYONE OUT THERE! YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER DOCTOR OUT THERE!! HE MAKES SURE YOU DOING AFTERCARE AND THE NURSE CALLS TO CHECK UP ON YOU AT HOME..I RATE HIM 100% THE BEST DOCTOR OUT THERE WHO WILL CARE FOR YOU AND MAKE YOU FIRST...

Excellent surgeon and great treatment at hospital. Hospital staff = excellent.
