My first impression of Dr. Li was that she is a very intelligent, warm and genuine person. All interactions with her past that first meeting have only validated my first impression. On surgery day, my family commented on how caring and down-to-earth she was.

At my initial consultation, we discussed both the gastric bypass and lap-band procedures and I decided to go with the lap-band. Dr. Li presented the benefits and risk factors in a very clear and concise manner (in plain English) and in a non-terrifying way. This was important to me.

Surgical excellence is critical, but bedside manner of a Doctor means a lot to me as a patient, and Dr. Li possesses both. I would rate her as outstanding and would recommend her without hesitation to prospective patients.

The aftercare program is well defined and educational classes are conducted by the Clinical Dietitian prior to surgery.

She is and excellent doctor that i would recommend to anyone in the pursuit of having WLS. The staff at Sinai was very tenative to my needs. Besides pain i experienced due to the surgery... i couldn't have asked for a better sugeon or hospital.

I met with doctor Li on 9/21 for my first consultation within 1 month i had my insurance approval, and surgeryall within 1 month of my first visit... everything went sooooo fast, but i am definately pleased with the results..

My spouse and I work for the Government in healthcare, including the FDA, so we had many resources available to help us learn about the surgery and potential surgeons. We carefully reviewed a lot of information, and decided on Sinai's program and Dr. Li. Now two months post-op, I know we made a great decision! Dr. Li is extremely competent and dedicated; with a great personality and sense of humor. Although her office is obviously busy, I never felt rushed while meeting with her, asking questions, and preparing for the surgery. Her staff is very supportive and organized, and always responsive to your needs. For me, Dr. Li's greatest asset was making me feel like we were partners in pursuing weight loss. She took a personal interest in making sure I was informed, what I should expect, and what would be expected of me. Dr. Li stressed the lifelong committment that WLS would require.

There were many facilities closer to my home that offered WLS, but the extra travel to Sinai and Dr. Li was well worth the effort. Dr. Li and her staff offer an organized, caring, and very effective program. Her surgical and office care is outstanding, and Dr. Li is a delightful person. If you research your options for surgery, you'll probably come to the same conclusion - Sinai, Dr. Li, and Dr. Gandsas are the best!

Dr. Christina Li is wonderful- extremely competent, thorough, kind and everything I would want in someone who is about to slice and dice my digestive system into a new configuration. The entire staff at the Sinai Bariatric Program are also wonderful and extremely helpful in assisting one's journey through the morass of pre-operative testing and insurance impedimenta. I was initially declined but the very same day Dr. Li spoke with the medical director at BC/BS and found out what additional info they needed to possibly approve the surgery. I was able to get that info faxed to Sinai and in a couple more days had approval for the surgery. My bmi pre op was 37.1, I had borderline high blood pressure, triglycerides had recently shot up,my knee was becoming arthritic and I had mild/moderate sleep apnea. So I was not really expecting to get approval as my co-morbidities weren't horrible and my bmi was below 40. I think to some extent the approval was probably due to the superb program at Sinai and therefore a level of trust on the part of BC/BS that this was a necessary surgery because my surgeon said so. This is just conjecture on my part so take it with a grain of salt.
They have a good structure for both before and after care, they address the risks thoroughly (I was terrified!)- the only thing I think that would be an improvement would be to have a program in place whereby they hook up pre-ops with post-ops- obviously on a volunteer basis on everyone's side but it would have been great to have been able to have my very own one year post op to ask questions of,see in the hospital, call on the phone etc.
Both surgical competence and bedside manner are great- I am healing beautifully with no adverse side affects.
I highly reccomend this program.

From the very beginning Dr. Li was in my corner. She was very supportive and very instrumental in my Primary Care Doctor finally giving her letter of support. My impression of Dr. Li just continues to grow favorably because she is so supportive and caring that is genuine and not phoney. Dr. Li has a very supportive and caring staff. There was nothing that I did not like about Dr. Li. I think that other patients should know that she is a very competent, compassionate and caring about all of her patients. She stresses the importance of aftercare and also before care. Yes, there is a structure aftercare with support group meetings focused around transitioning from puree to solid food and other very important topics. Dr. Li explained the procedure and the risks that were involved and had you attend support groups for the preoptive phase. I would give Dr. Li the highest rating possible if it were on a scale of 1 to 10 she would receive a 10. Her surgical competence and her bedside manner are excellent I would recommend anyone in the Baltimore, Maryland area or out of the Baltimore, Maryland area to have Dr. Christine Li do their Baraiatric surgery. I can only speak for myself and my experience with the Sinai Bariatric Center and Dr. Li which was very positive. I am truely please with how I was treated and how I am being treated now that the surgery is done.

Whaen I first saw Dr. Li I thougt to myself she looks too young to be a doctor. When she started to speak at the first seminar that I attended I thought she knows her business. The staff at Sinai Hospital were/are very supportive and helpful with any questions or fears that I had. They actually become apart of your family. I think people should know that these people actually care about your well being and are not out to just take your money. Aftercare is very important to your overall well being. We attend monthly support groups and if there is ever any thing you need you can call the office. They even provide a free 3 month membership to a fitness center affilliated with the Hospital. Dr. Li was very honest about the risks involving wls. For me to rate Dr Li I will be biased because she gave me my life back So my overall experiance was excellent. I believe that both are equally important to a patient's recovery.

I had my surgery on July 15, 2005 with Dr. Li. She went overevery thing that could possible happen to me several times before the surgery. She treated me with great care and respect. She is one of the few doctors that I have ever met that makes you feel completly at ease and like you are part of her family. When I let the hospital her staff called and checked on me. On my follow up visit she encouraged me to start excercising and make sure that I didin't do anything that would hurt. I would tell anyone who is looking for a surgeon to trust yourself with Dr. Li she will take care of you. I live about 45 miniutes from the hopsital and Dr's office and I could have choosen someone closer but because of the structure of the program at Siani and Dr.Li's office I choose them. I'm very glad that I choose them and would do it again if I had to.I look forward to my relationship with Dr. Li and her awesome office staff over the comming years.

My surgeon was Dr. Christina Li, and I would highly recommend her to just about anyone. She was excellent to work with -- and by that I mean that she made me feel more a partner in this whole endeavour than a customer. She made sure that this surgery was right for me and what I wanted, and then told me what we needed to do to get insurance approval. She immediately gave me a surgical date based on my insurance company's history (three month preparation required). In visits prior to surgery she explained the possible complications, and the experience of the Sinai Hospital practice with each of them. She spelled out what would be happening during the preparation for surgery, during the surgery itself -- including where all the incisions would be -- and what would be happening afterward. I felt quite comfortable with her doing the surgery. She talked with my husband as soon as I was moved from surgery to recovery, letting him know that everything was proceeding as expected.
Dr Li has a wonderful office staff -- from Karen Sweeney, her nurse coordinator, and Nancy Lum, the nutritionist, and with help from Eileen and Paula, I never had a problem finding someone to answer any of the many questions that came up getting ready for this. Now that I am on the other side, I am continuing to get their support during the all important after surgery part.

DR. Christina Li is my surgeon, and my angel, that gave me the tools to start a new life. My surgery was on 4/29/05. I am now 11 weeks post op, and I feel wonderful.MY surgery went well and I am adjusting to my new and healthy way of eating. Dr. Li is a very compassionate and caring surgeon, who takes time with you and cares deeply for your health. The staff in her office are very personal and they take time to talk to you.
