Long Term VSG Bariatric Center

I have spent the last few months searching for surgeons in Tijuana and am truly confident in my decision to hire Dr. Maytorena as my bariatric surgeon for VSG. I am beginning my journey September 24, 2015! After talking with LTVSG coordinator, Ruben, he made me feel very comfortable. He was open and honest and answered any question I had. I even got to talk with Dr. Maytorena, which was very comforting. I have heard nothing but positive remarks on Dr. Maytorena's surgical skills. I absolutely want you to research having your surgery with LTVSG in Tijuana, Mexico if you're looking for an experienced and professional surgeon. I was questioning leaving the country for surgery, but I want a happy, healthy, long life and my health is more important than fear. I am so glad I took the first step with this company.
Updates to follow!

Dr. Maytorena is a highly respected, brilliant surgeon offering the perfect shaped sleeve and an outstanding bedside manner. Hi center is beautiful, clean, comfortable and brand new. His skills and experience are top notch and he is working toward American accreditation for his Tijuana center by American agency - Joint Commission. He is a trained trauma surgeon as well highly trained in bariatrics. His work has been reviewed and complemented by my local American bariatric physician: "your surgeon created the perfect sleeve. It looks great!". That is the highest complement!
I had my surgery on July 6, 2015 and have had no issues, no pain, nothing out of the ordinary. I highly recommend Dr. Maytorena and his highly skilled, super attentive, and adept team of professionals.

My father, who is also a doctor in Tijuana, was recently sleeved by Dr. Jorge Maytorena. We know most of the surgeons in the city, some of them are really really good. We heard that one of the region's best doctors, Dr. Jorge Maytorena, launched this low-cost program called LongTerm VSG at only $2999 for gastric sleeve surgery. I understand that the cost may keep some people away... but let me tell you that this is for real. What Dr. Maytorena and his crew did is that they found a formula in which they could perform advanced laparoscopic procedures while cutting on every unnecessary cost... including, of course, their take per surgery. Dr. Maytorena and patient coordinator Ruben understand that there are countless of people suffering from obesity here in North America (Mexico recently surpassed the US as the most obese country in the world... ) and that something needed to be done. My dad is doing great! We truly recommend LongTerm VSG, we couldn't find a reason why not choose them over the other options (some of them as good as LTVSG, but twice the money) around here in Tijuana. These is caring, professional medical staff with the highest standards in both health care and our well known endearing hospitality. If you or someone in your family is reading this (which is very likely), give them a call.

Dr. Maytorena did my VSG on March 18th. He was fantastic, had wonderful bedside manner, and was very soft spoken, direct and kind. I am healing very well with no issues whatsoever. I had minimal discomfort and it was an overall pleasant experience considering it was surgery.
I am looking forward to my new journey!

I had my vertical sleeve with Dr. Maytorena. I found him through a Mexican friend that referred me to him. My experience was great. The attention and care I received in Mexico was excellent. Dr. Maytorena is a very experienced doctor that inspires trust and care. A couple of friends have gone to him after seeing my results, all of them are very happy as well. Don't think twice to go to him for your weight loss surgery. I am glad we have this option, since having this procedure in US is extremely expensive.

Note, that at time I am writing this. I am 1 week out. I just had my surgery last week. I found Dr. Maytorena to be first, quite good. My recovery has been swift. 1 week later I have no pain, and no trouble eating. I can walk as much as I want without issue.
If you go to Mexico, be prepared for many people not being able to speak English - they are still very good at what they do, so sometimes you just have to trust them to give you good care.
I went by myself. It might be easier to bring a friend. Also, you can stay the night before your surgery at the hospital if you are flying in. Ask about that.
So I give the doctor 5 stars. The rest I'll give 4 stars only for the fact that not everyone speaks English.
