When I dealt with Dr. Kuehner face to face, I was very surprised. He was much more genial than I was led to believe. He is planning to retire in the near future and is training in a new surgeon. He is a very good surgeon and I was/am pleased with the outcome. I can't say anything bad about him because he did everything necessary for my welfare (stopping the first surgery when my heart stopped). He visited me in the hospital everyday I was there.

The first time I meet Dr. Kuehner and his CMA, Chris, I thought they were both wonderful people. They were both very knowledgable of the surgery and willing to answer any questions that any of us in the group had. When I had my surgery Chris was on maternity leave. I ended up meeting another CMA named Rosie. She was just as wonderful as Chris was. If She didnt know an answer she found it and called me back the same day. I was very pleased with Dr kuehner and his staff however I was not pleased with St Joseph Hospital. When they discharged me, it seemed like they really didnt know what they were talking about. Of Course my discharge date was Memorial Day so my dr was off and I meet with resident dr so that did make it any better.

I work at the same facility as my Dr. so I have known him some time. Have always heard from others of his gruff and strait forward personality. I did not experience this at all. He is a no nonsense person, to the point. Very thorough, answers questions, makes sure you understand that this is a tool to use to loose weight, emphasizes life long change with compliance on the patient's part. Have talked to some of his patient's before surgery and have read comments about him on the net. Have talked to other physicians where I work and he came highly recmommended. He only does the open RNY, possible due to the fact he is getting close to retirement. That wasn't a factor for me tho. I would recommend him highly.

i have seen dr kuehner 2 times and i have enjoyed his honesty and explanation of the surgery and the fact that he asks you if you have any questions and than for you to ask and that makes you feel very comfortable. his staff can be helpful but i have had bad times with there tone of voice it seemed they were in a bad mood.

My first impression of him is that he was a very caring man and that I could trust my life in his hands. He was very informative and to the point. Didn't gloss over anything, just told it like it was. His office staff are wonderful. They really take care of you like a whole person. Any questions are answered promptly and they always call you back when you have a question. I would recommend him to anyone. He is retiring soon, so if you plan on getting your surgery in the near future, do so!!!! I did have some minor problems after surgery, but his office nurse called my home twice to check on how I was doing. Marshfield in general is a GREAT facility and I would recommend it to anyone.

I have not talked to Dr. Kuehner yet, only had the orientation with a group. At this meeting he was very up front about the risk's and explained the surgery in detail. I will have to save my opinion's about the Dr. until I have my one on one visit with him. His staff that I have talked to on the phone, have all been very helpful and caring.
12-13-02 Dr. Kuehner was very kind and caring. As far as I'm conscerned he can do surgery on me if I ever need anything done in the furture. A very skilled Dr., and thats what counts.

I liked Dr.Kuehner he's very straight forward I like that in a person and I love that in a doctor. But I only talked to him for a few mins. one on one after the info.group. I'll know more soon.

My first impression of him was he was very to the point. Very serious person all business.

No my first impression did not change over time. That is the way he is.

His office staff made up for his no bed side manner, Kim is just wonderful and Dr. Gould he such a great person & doctor, he is so easy to talk to.

There was not anything I really did or did not like about him.

He emphasized aftercare extremly important.

He has a very structured aftercare program.
He really makes it a point that you need to show up to every appointment & checkup.

He was very up front about all the risk.

He is a excellent surgeon. But the bedside manner he can work on. But when it comes to this important of a surgery, I would have him before I would let any other surgeon do it. He is the best.

Surgical competence is the only thing I worried about with the surgeon. His office staff & assistances make up the bedside manner.
