I first seen Dr. VerSteeg at one of his seminars. I thought he was very \"matter a fact\" and pretty much to the point. Didn't see much personality. During my first office visit he was great. Friendly, compationate, and listened to all my concerns. Over time I have discovered a very \"human\" surgeon. The office staff are great. Always willing to answer questions and help you. Doesn't matter how many times you call them. I can't think of anything I don't like about Dr Ver steeg. He is very serious about aftercare and has support groups in Ft. Dodge, Mason City, and Algona. He has also started another group for people who need to get \"back on track\". The risks of surgery were explained very well and he made sure I understood them. On a scale of 1-10 he is a strong 9. I think surgical competence is more important, a bedside manner sure makes the whole experience better.

I have great confidence in Dr. Ver Steeg. He has been very informative of all the risks and I am so happy he decided I was a candidate for the bypass surgery.
