I feel he is very knowledgeable and excellent bedside manner. He and his staff are on top of things all the time!! I am very happy he did my surgery and would go to him again if i needed any other type of surgery!

DR. HODDINOTT DOES NOT PERFORM LAPROSCOPIC SURGERY, ONLY OPEN BARIATRIC SURGERY. WHY WOULD ONE CHOOSE OPEN SURGERY INSTEAD OF LAPROSCOPIC SURGERY WHICH IS A MUCH QUICKER HEALING (CONSIST OF VERY SMALL INCINSIONS). I WAS BACK TO WORK IN 1 WEEK. I WOULD URGE ANYONE CONTEMPLATING BARIATRIC SURGERY TO DO A THOROUGH RESEARCH OF ALL TYPES OF BARIATRIC SURGERY.

Mr.Hoddinott is a nasty,dangerous hoodlum.
He is from Canada, and openly admits he failed to pass his US medical exams!
He opened me up,left surgical instruments in my,failed to staple me,and caused my life to fade.
14 surgeries later, his partner,William Todd Overcash is kicked out of the medical field, and Hoddinott is still slashing away.
This man is a menace.

I had gastric bypass RNY back on Aug 11,2005 by Dr. Hoddinott when he was still in PA. I was 320lbs and 22 years old. I had never had a major surgery in my life. Needless to say I was very scared and had alot of questions. From the moment I met Dr. H he was great! Wonderful bedside manor and answered every one of my questions with no BS. Dr. H is a very warm and friendly person, he helped me walk through everything I had to do before, during, and after. I developed a infection and he was there for every step til I was better and healed up. Dr H was my cheerleader and always encouraging "protein, protein, protein!" I couldnt possibly recommend him more to someone interested in gastric bypass. I was able to go down to a weight of 145lbs a loss of -175lbs! It is a tool for weightloss not a holy grail it takes dedication to keep the weight off... I have struggled with recently putting on some weight after being out 8-9 years from my surgery but I will never see 320lbs ever again, I am still maintaining a loss of -125lbs, and my pouch is still small. I do wish he was still here I would definetly make time for a appointment but Florida is too far! I miss his humor and encouragement! Florida you are lucky to have such an awesome Doctor. Best of luck to anyone reading this and considering him, do it for yourself and your health.

It was January 2010, by this time I had been rushed to the hospital many times. I have had 7 known heart attacks and 1 stroke. At the time I has 568 pounds and I was dying. My lungs were shutting down due to the weight just crushing my lungs and smoking. Dr. Hoddinott was called in by my very dear friend Dr. Scott Mclavy. Dr. Hoddinott said well sir this is your last chance to have a some what normal life is to have gastric bi~pass surgery. With all thats going on with you with the lungs, heart, and all the other organs failing, Johnny you have about at best 5 weeks to live max. We had to fight with medicaid 5 1/2 weeks to get approval for the surgery. Dr. Hoddinott fought tooth and nail for me to have the surgery. The night the word came down that I was cleared, my dearest friend Dr. Scott came running into my hospital room at like 3am shouting and crying and saying we got it we got it. I started shouting and crying and thanking the Lord. I had told both doctors that what ever happens I win, they both looked and me funny, what do you mean? Either I go home to stay or the Lord comes for me during the surgery I win because either way Im going home, they both started to cry and said yes you will go home either way with tears flowing. See I was there over a month at this point and was ready to get out of there one way or another. It was the Lord that directed Dr Hoddinott's hands through my surgery, I had every specialist on deck the day of the surgery, I was fading fast. It was Feb. 17th 2010 and my life was changed for ever. For the first doctors visit after the surgery I had lost 52 pounds in 2wks. I could not believe it, I was so happy, Yes I have been through hell since the surgery but if it was not for Dr. Hoddinott and the awesome staff at Monroe In Ocala Fl., I would be dead. The staff always went up and beyond the call of duty to save my life each and every time. I owe my life to the brave Doctors and nurses at Monroe. Just in a 2 year time I was in I.C.U. 23 or more times. Dr. Kevin Hoddinott & Doctor Scott Mclavy are my dearest friends in this world and I can't thank them enough for all that they have both done for me with the entire staff at Monroe in Ocala Fl. Love you Guys and thank you for saving my life. BTW, From 568 to 300 pounds since the surgery. I feel AWESOME!!!!

Yours truly
Johnny Leon Bell Jr.

BLESSINGS TO ALL AT MONROE......

Upon first meeting this man I was taken aback by his revolting appearance. He was sweating like a pig,and had bad breath.
A backround check revealed him to be a liar, hack, failure and fraud.

Kevin Hoddinott is an incompetent fool.He slithered into this country by way of his native Canada, and their socialist healthcare system.
He is a slimy fellow.Do not trust him.Check out his backround, the deaths he has caused, the suits filed against him.
Additionally,be wary of Munroe hospital. It is a cesspool managed by low end hacks.
Go to Shands or the Mayo Clinic and be safe.

The man is a dangerous butcher! He failed his US exams after coming down from Canada! He is a nasty, dishonest man,who lies to his patients, and to his victims, even under oath! If you are suicidal enough to actually consider seeing him....
Ask him why he failed his US exams.
Ask him why he never retook the exams.
Ask him how many times he has beed sued for medical malpractice.
Ask him how many times he has been suspended.
Ask him how many times he has ACTUALLY EFT SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS IN PATIENTS AND THEN CLOSED THEM UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ask him why he paired with a surgeon who has actually killed patients, misplaced organs, been suspended many times, and his now actually kicked out of the profession!
Ask him why he hired the butcher's OR nurse,Madeline,a hulking greedy saleswoman with no medical skills.
Additionally, please consider the site.Munroe is a filthy toilet of a hospital. It would not pass the grade in Haiti,or Yemen!
Go to Shands or The Mayo Clinic!

EXCELLENT DR!! He did not do my surgery but was my original surgeon's "partner" for lack of a better word.....I saw him when I was having abdominal pain. He figured my stoma was dilated and performed the schlerotherapy and was doing great for almost 4 years but I was supposed to get it done yearly and due to loosing my job and finding one that didn't cover him any longer I had to choose another local doctor. But I do declare - and remember him as one of the best!

I first went to see Dr H in August of 2009. My husband had wanted to get gastric bypass and Dr H did it December 18, 2009. My husband was 400 pounds and is now as of 9/22/2011 170 pounds and looks great. Thank you Dr H for giving Mike a new life free of diabetes and high blood pressure.

In August of 2010 i went into surgery myself for gastric revision after having a Dr in 2006 screw it up. Dr H did a scope of my stomach and told us that he had to do a total Stomach removal due to previous surgeries. I was in the hospital 3 days, came home and felt great. After a week i ended up back in the hospital with septis. I spent the next 2 months in the hospital with a hole in my stomach that was 8 inches long, 7 inches wide and about 3 inches deep from the surgery to clean up the septis poisoning. Dr H did everything he could do to make me comfortable and told me exactly what was going on. He Does not sugar coat anything, I then went to a speciality hospital for a month because i needed wound care. Then to a nursing home for a month. Then was back in the hospital another month coming home in January. In March of 2011 i went back into the hospital to have the hole closed up and the fistula fixed. Once again Dr H took good care of me. After a week i returned home and ended up with another infection so he had to go back and cut the infection area out and i had another hole. He sent me home on a wound vac and i found a wound doctor in my town because its too far to go see Dr H all the time. It is now 9/22/2011. I had my first surgery August 5,2010. Ive had 5 surgeries. The holes are healed, I am down 155 pounds and will hit my goal weight in 46 more pounds lost.
I Owe Dr Hoddinott my life as he saved mine. I think he is wonderful, funny and can play a good game of paper basketball..LOL.. I would recommend him to everyone. I cant forget Madeline, his nurse. She is wonderful also. The only thing i can say is. If you dont want to hear the truth, dont ask because he will not hold back, he tells you like it is.
Thank you Dr H for everything. :)
