Dr. Garcia, Dr. Ruben and Luis are seriously the best. We needed help for our daughter's stomach condition as we weren't getting anywhere in Canada. She was suffering tremendously; could not eat, vomiting and in excruciating pain for 2 years with several misdiagnoses. We had no choice but to seek help internationally. Right from the start we were blown away by the professionalism demonstrated by the MTY Bariatrics team. From Luis booking our FaceTime consults to our calls with Dr. Garcia and Dr. Ruben. Upon our first call with Dr. Garcia, I knew we had found a match and I had full trust that Dr. Garcia would be able to help my 17-year-old ailing daughter. The next 2 calls with Dr. Ruben further solidified our decision-making process and within a few days we booked our trip to Monterrey, Mexico. Everything was organized for us; my daughter's tests and a driver to take us to all the appointments. Within 24 hours of our arrival, Dr. Ruben diagnosed my daughter with a hiatal hernia. We were over the moon with relief that we FINALLY HAD A DIAGNOSIS after 2 years of heartache!!!!! :) Something they could not diagnose with several endoscopies in Canada. On the Monday morning at 4am my daughter started vomiting and was crying in pain, being in a new city, I had no idea what to do, so I called Luis. Within 10 minutes Luis was at our condo picking us up to take us to the ER where he stayed with us to make sure everything was ok, and my daughter was settled. She was admitted and Dr. Garcia booked the Nissen Fundoplication surgery for that evening. He explained everything to us in great detail, reassured us we had nothing to worry about and he would treat my daughter like his own. They also moved up the surgery to avoid us having to pay an extra night at the hospital, which I thought was very generous of them! The surgery went well, my daughter was discharged 2 days later and continues to make an amazing recovery. The aftercare was just as impressive; with several follow up appointments, nutritionist appointments and just knowing I could call them anytime I needed was very comforting. I feel like they were angels sent from heaven to help my poor daughter. We are back in Canada where my daughter is eating and in no pain for the first time in two years! Last but not least, Dr. Garcia DID treat my daughter like his own and I trust this team with our lives. Best decision we ever made was trusting MTY Bariatrics with my daughter’s care. We have our daughter back, and more importantly, she has her life back!

I began gaining weight slowly a little over 10 yrs ago. Within the last 3 years my weight increased by 60lbs and this began affecting my everyday life. I have never had a problem working out (Food, obviously, was my issue.) and I found myself unable to do any kind of cardio because my legs and heels would be in pain. Not only was it present during workouts but at night, when I tried walking to the bathroom and close to the end walking during the day hurt as well.
I constantly thought of food, anything sugar was my favorite. I ate till it felt uncomfortable, I did not know what satisfied meant.
My fiance brought up the surgery to me. I know ladies, you're probably thinking I should have been offended. But I felt the exact opposite. The man I love and want to spend the rest of my life with wants me to stick around for awhile, feel confident, not hide out because I feel like people are judging me. He wanted me to be happy and healthy. So I began searching for the doctor.
I visited a few doctors in Austin as well as Dallas and I heard the same thing every time. You definitely qualify for the procedure however insurance will only cover if you gain more weight and maintain for sometime or have an underlying condition (ie diabetes, high blood pressure etc). I knew I was heading down that road for health issues, but I was not being treated for anything at the time (which is a blessing). My cousin in Mexico is a doctor, completely different field, but I reached out to her and asked for help in finding a surgeon. Her medical director referred her to Dr. Jose Eduardo Garcia Flores.
I reached out to Dr. Flores and we set up a skype interview and immediately I felt comfortable with him. He does look very young lol, but he is very knowledgeable and professional. I am Hispanic however my Spanish is no bueno. And thankfully he spoke English. I was able to voice my concerns and ask questions and he would respond and I could understand.
The procedure was affordable and I decided to move forward and travel to Monterrey, MX.
I chose to do all the testing for the procedure on the Monday before surgery (my surgery was on a Wed.) I met with a nutritionist, medical doctor (general), Psychiatrist, Anesthesiologist, had an ekg, and had all my bloodwork done. Dr. Flores made it very clear, if something is not right, we will not proceed. His staff spoke Spanish primarily but we were able to communicate to each other as they also spoke English. Each one of the doctors gave me their email and phone number and asked if I needed to contact them at any time to do so. Luis his assistant was so very helpful and answered every question I had before and after the surgery.
The hospital where he performs the surgeries, the staff was very nice and constantly checked on me and made sure I was comfortable and had what I needed.
It has been nearly two months and I have lost 50lbs. I will always be grateful to Dr. Flores and his staff. I highly recommend him.

Hi my name is Adriana Rogers and I would like to share my story with you. My whole life I've been battling my weight and in the last 2 years I have gained more weight than ever getting to 385 pounds. This left me depressed and always tired, I would not leave my room or want to go anywhere being so overweight and tired. After arrived in Monterrey, Mexico I was blown away with the friendly atmosphere and quality of the hospital I was going to have my surgery in. The staff was so professional and well trained having my nutritionist and psychologist having already put together my after care plan for me. Having gone through the surgery without any issues and the Dr Eduardo even giving me his phone number and instructing me to call him anytime I had question or concern. 3 days later I was up and walking and feeling great and ready to return to Utah. Now a month later I have already lost 40 pounds and my life is changed for the better . I have much more energy getting things that were hard for me to do before done with ease and feeling so good about the way I look and feel now. This is the best decision I have ever made and I am so happy that I choose Dr Eduardo Garcia and His staff at Monterrey Bariatrics, They are the Angels who help change my life forever.

Por el lado medico yo me realice un bypass gástrico y mi cirugía fue el día 7 de Diciembre del 2015 en el hospital concita en monterrey donde desde admisión, preparación, cirugía, recuperación y pase a mi habitación todo fue excelente y en las manos del doctor Eduardo no tengo mas que decir que fue una excelente cirugía, no he tenido ningún problema y la verdad a 10 días de mi cirugía veo avances importantes a que me refiero como me siento y la perdida de peso que llevo de 7 kgs en estos días.

I would like to share my experience with Mty Bariatrics, I have five days Gastric Sleeve operated and took down 6.2kg (:
My obesity began in adolescence after 15 years, at age 19 I had surgery for a herniated disc so I tried to lose weight to take care of my back, but until a few days ago came despite 98 kg and already felt discomfort the lower back and for this reason we decided to RELIAZAR the VSG.
Prior to the operation day I dined, I prayed that everything would go well and went to sleep early the next day we headed to the hospital and the entry was made, I changed and I placed the IV, a little nervous I came to pray for everything to go well, passed the Dr. Eduardo Garcia Flores to me and reassured me a lot, while I was upgraded and the operating room, there I emphasize that the presence of Dr. Elda Maltos Tamez and his words reassured me a lot, made me remember that I was in good hands and that everything would be fine. Upon awakening I was already in the recovery room feeling a slight pain but happy to see that everything went extremely well, shortly after I went to my room and very happy I saw my family (:. Estoy muy contenta y agradecida porque desde que conocí al Dr. Eduardo García elevo mi autoestima y sentí que podía lograr mi meta. Mi experiencia antes de la operación fue excelente pues tuve de manera oportuna todas las indicaciones necesarias para llegar de la mejor manera a mi operación. Y muy satisfecha con el equipo del Dr. Eduardo García durante mi estancia en el Hospital pues estuvieron muy al pendiente de cada una de mis necesidades. After much thought and consideration, and several visits to many doctors, I finally came across the Dr José Eduardo who from the first information query gave me the confidence I needed in order to make this decision. If I had known the great experience as I've experienced before, during and after my surgery with Dr. José Eduardo team, I would have do this long time ago.
