I met with Dr. Wood on April 6th, 2001. I can't say enough! He was very thorough. He explained everything in full detail, and took the time to answer all my questions, as well as my mom's questions. He is a very warm person, as well as top in the field. His staff was great. They treated my with every bit of respect I deserve. Joyce and Cassandra were the greatest (two very wonderful professionals). John Sapala, the nutritionist was very helpful as well. He went over everything from pre-op to post-op and the rest of my life about nutrition and supplements. I would highly recommend this staff to anyone who for whatever reason is considering this surgery.

I met with Dr. Wood on Monday November 13th
What a nice man. He took his time during
our consultation to go over every aspect of
the surgery and what to expect afterwords.
I feel very confident that I have chosen
the right surgeon.
3/19/01, It is unfortunate that Dr. Wood no longer accepts Select Care, I
know this is a dissapointment to many people who were in the process of getting approved. I think Dr.Wood and Select Care should have
worked something out for those people already in his system.

Dr. Edelman appeared very competent.
Still the same.
Staff is very competent and helpful, especially Carmela.
He is very busy with a lot of patients and could have explained more to me about aftercare and diet, etc. I would also like to know if I would have trouble taking my medication, etc. after the surgery.
He has an excellent reputation.
I haven't gone over aftercare with him at all yet. The ins. co. still hasn't approved the surgery. He did tell me to call a dietician and gave me her ph. no.
Yes.
At this point, Very Good.
I like surgical competence better or both..

I met with Dr. Wood and found him to be a very calm and "laid-back" sort of person. He was very informative, and took his time explaining the surgery. He got a little "bothered" when we asked questions during his initial speech and asked us to hold our questions until the end. I suppose he just didn't want to forget anything. He seems to be a very gentle, caring man, who is confident in his abilities. I must say that I like him better than some of the other surgeons I met with from other organizations. I will let you all know more after my surgery. March 12 is my big day!

I haven't had an appointment yet but did go to a seminar given by him. VERY knowledgeable, very businesslike but with a sense of humor. Dr. Wood stress this is a life long committment on both parts yours, his staff & himself.
I have had a lot of contact with the people in the office Liz & Joyce were very helpful & willing to answer all my questions. They have been very people friendly

I FINALLY get to meet him on 2/20/01!!!! I had to wait for approval from my insurance company before these people will even see you. I did not like that so much, but I certainly understand! Debbie at his office is the BEST!!!! She has been an absolute angel and I owe her sooo much for helping me!!!!

I first met Dr. Wood at one of his seminars, and then again a another seminar prior to my first visit with him on 6-30-00 at the Jackson office. Dr. Wood is very knowledgable and answers all the questions that you have and more. I find him very quiet and not a very talkative person on a person to person level. The only negative comments that I have is that you have to wait for over an hour when you visit him in the office, I have gone three times and each time had to wait over an hour. And the hospital that the surgery is done at is very bad when it comes to customer service.

I Actually met his partner first Dr. Sapala. He was nice and explained the procedure to me thoughly. Always open for questions. I met Dr. Wood the day of surgery, only because of my insurance conditions to have the surgery before the end of the year [my sx date was 12-21-00]. the insurance company approved It on 12-19-00, and guess what Dr. Wood was to be on Vacation the week between Christmas and New Year's. So the Jackson office [Debbie esp and Marilyn] and Joyce at the Sterling Heights office hussled and managed to get me scheduled before the end of the year, Thank You Ladies. I still don't know too much about Dr. Wood but I am looking forward to it, he appeared very nice and knowledgable in the hospital. So far so good with my surgery

I met Dr. Wood on December 11th. He was an hour late but other than that he was wonderful!! He is very warm and extremely knowledgeable. I like the office staff in Jackson, but the staff in Sterling Hts doesn't seem as knowledgeable. I had questions about my prep that she couldn't answer. Overall I would rate my experience as an 8.

I HAVE NOT MET DR. WOOD AS OF THIS DATE. I MET WITH DR. SAPALA ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2000. BECAUSE OF MY INSURANCE MIXUP, I HAVE TO CONTINUE TO WAIT UNTIL A REFERRAL IS DONE BY MY DOCTOR. DR. SAPALA WAS A WONDERFUL DOCTOR. HE EXPLAINED EVERYTHING VERY THROUGHLY TO MYSELF AND MY HUSBAND. I FELT VERY COMFORTABLE WITH HIM AND HE EXPLAINED THE PROCEDURE SO WE COULD UNDERSTAND WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN AND THE RESULTS HE EXPECTED AND THE WORK AHEAD OF ME. HE WAS VERY HONEST WITH ME. I WILL LET YOU KNOW WHAT I FOUND OUT ABOUT DR. WOOD'S ONCE I HAVE HAD A CHANCE TO MEET HIM. I GUESS THAT WON'T BE UNTIL I HAVE CONFORMATION FROM MY INSURANCE COMPANY. SAY A LITTLE PRAYER FOR ME. THANKS
ONE MORE LITTLE NOTE. THEY HAD THE WRONG INFORMATION FOR MY INSURANCE SO I CRIED ALL THE WAY HOME, BUT I KNOW IT WILL HAPPEN, JUST HAVE TO BE PATIENT.
I met with Dr. Wood on Friday, December 16, 2000, and he was a wonderful man. He explained every thing were throughly and let me know the short term -- long term problems that could occur and what to expect with the new me. He was great.
