Dr. Wood is a wonderful surgeon who really knows his stuff. He cares about his patients and doesn't want them in pain. I told him about the pain I've been having in my belly and he quickly ordered cat scans blood work and both a colonoscopy and endoscopy. He is easy to get ahold of and very friendly. He's also great at making you feel proud and confident. Plus he can always make you smile!

My I first met Dr. Wood I knew I was in the best hands, not only because my God-Sister referred me but he gave me hope. To this day I still feel the same way about Dr. Wood he is like a father figure and he has a goal for me that I have not met. Before I go and see him I must reach my goal. The staff that Dr. Wood has is amazing and fun to work with. I must say that they is nothing that I do not like about myself. rnDr. Wood wills for you to do your best and he will not accept anything else but the best. I believe that the after care was great and they go over and beyond. The entire staff explain the risk of surgery in ways that you could not believe. When it comes to an overall rating I give Dr. Wood and his office staff an A. I feel that that both are great.

Dr Wood was excellent with the pre op period and the surgical period. I have found that his office does not have enough support available for the post op patient. I think he needs a more structured aftercare program. Overall I found him to be a kind and competent Dr.. I would recommend him for surgery but maybe find a better post recovery long term program.

I haven't actually met Dr. Wood. I have had my consultation with his assitant Dr. Taylor. rnMy surgery will be done by Dr. Wood, I have heard wonderful things about him. And am confident in my choice of surgens. rnI LOVE LOVE all the people at ABMI. They are all so nice, and informative. I have NO doubts about anything, and am excited to start my journey.

I never know how to write these, but I wanted to let people know about Dr. Wood. From the first phone call I knew I made the right decision to go to him. His office staff is very helpful, knowledgable, eager to help in anyway to get you approved. Not once did I feel like I was bothering them with my million questions and phone calls. They did everything for me to get me approved with my insurance. rn The first visit to his office was long but informative. You site down at a group session and learn about everything you ever want to know about the procedure, your diet, your life after procedure. They give you recipes, lists of everything you will need after the surgery to help prepare you so you have it when you get home. When I met Dr. Wood for the one on one, he was caring, funny, down to earth type of dr. Wasn't in a hurry even though he had a lobby full of people waiting to see him. He makes you feel like your his own patient. My husband was with me and even he was impressed on how he treated us. Most dr's are in and out of the room in less then 2 minutes and don't care if your scared or have questions but not Dr wood. He takes his time to make sure you understand everything thats going to happen. rn Heres a link to a video that was done on him and shows part of the surgery. http://www.dmc.org/VideoLibrary/?Library=1&VideoID=47. rn He is a perfectionist when it comes to surgery. He demands it with himself and with anyone who works with him. He makes sure that anyone who is working in the OR knows the procedure as well as him. He also has a set of people that he works with and only them. rn His bedside manner and surgical competence are both excellant. He cares so much about each of his patients. He don't want to see any in pain and will do what he can to minimize the pain and discomfort. I don't know what else i could write to express how excellent of a dr he is. Theres a spot on this page saying that no person can be the \"best\" in all aspects, thats wrong. I can't think of anything negative to say about him or his office staff. rnI think if I was asked to describe Dr. Wood in 1 word, that word would to be hero. He saved my life. I don't know how I could ever repay him for what he did for me and my family. rnrn

My first impression was that he knew his stuff.rnSo far my impression has not changed.rnHis staff is so professional, friendly, and patient love them. I dont have any complaints today. He gives you the desired amount of time you need with him and he is willing to answer all of your questions and does not rush you. He constantly emphasizes aftercare. He give you all the information you will need on the aftercare. He spent a lot of time talking with us about th erisk of surgery. Right now I fill very comfortable with the fact that he is going to perform my surgery, He has a great bedside manner and I will get back with you all and tell you everything else that is great about him after my surgery.

I haven't met him yet. Will let you know my personal impression.rnHis credentials are excellent, and so is his experience. His place on the Mortality committee tells me doesn't get call before them often.

His great, it just got better, they are wonderful, I dont know, he believes in wjat he does, greatly, yes, he was honest and up front, 10 - great, both are needed and great to have.

My Lap band surgeon was Dr. Michael Wood, but he was affiliated with CORI centers at the time (2006). He has since started his own practice with Dr. Jamokay Taylor. I was very please with Dr. Wood IN THE BEGINNING. He was informative, encouraging, he had a great sense of humor, and a great bed side manner. My surgery went well and my visit at Harper was great! Dr. Wood visited me post surgery (a holiday) and answered all of my questions. Dr. Wood lost his appeal after many, many canceled appointments and long waits in the waiting room. Dr. Wood failed to order lab work on me until a year after my surgery. I didn't know I was supposed to have had it immediately post surgery. It took me over a year to even get my second adjustment and I had to go to Dr. Taylor to get it because Dr. Wood kept cancelling his appointments. Dr. Wood only does lap band adjustments on Fridays and only once a month and still can't keep those appointments. I am so disappointed because I had heard so many good things about him. It is devastating when you count on your surgeon to maintain your band and be available for follow-up and they are not! Maybe he was good when he was with CORI, but in his own practice I think that he is being pulled in too many directions at once and the patients are suffering. These are just my personal impressions of my own personal experience and I am making no statements about what other people may experience.
