I liked him from the begin and still do, His office staff is very helpful. I would recommend him to anyone

I have a a seminar scheduled for 02/10/2005. I figure will meet the surgeon there.
Met surgeon at seminar, Dr. Carter seemed very educated, straight-out Dr. I was very impressed from what I saw. So far, the staff looked helpful and nice. Dr. Carter has had good reviews and now I see why. I did not leave his seminar feeling confused or distraught.
I had my 1st appoitment and he was really busy, but he did take the time to talk to me and discuss what i will be eating. So far what I have seen, Dr Carter seemed like he knows what he is doing. The only think I didnt like was that in the exam room there was no female and he does not have a nursing staff.
I had my surgery with Dr. Carter and I had no complication and his bedside manner was great. I would reccommend him.

Dr. Carter was absolutely wonderful from the beginning. He gave me a lot of information and explained that if I followed his instructions I would succeed with my LIFESTYLE CHANGE. My impression of him over time only improved.

His office staff was great and very helpful.

There is absolutely nothing about him I do not like. However, his office visits sometimes are 2 hours or more for aftercare visits.

Dr. Carter is very supportive and direct.

Aftercare is actually more important that presurgery, because you have an entire lifestyle change. It is structured, but up to you to follow.

The surgery risks were outlined and it was explained how important following directions is to success.

Overall he is an 11 out of possible 10. Both surgical competence and bedside manner are exceptional

Dr. Carter has been doing wls since 1977, and I'm confident I chose the right surgeon for me. He also has a way of making you feel really comfortable with him. No question is stupid, and he's willing to take the time to talk to you and adress any concerns. He goes into great detail about what exactly it is that will happen during surgery. After surgery, he is on call 24/7. He will give you his home and cell # if you feel anything is wrong, and will meet you at the hospital ASAP.

The downside is that his office is extremely overbooked, and its not uncommon to be seen an hour or more passed your appointment time. My 1st appointment with Dr. Carter was rushed because of this (I waited 4 hours before seeing him and had to get home) and I would have liked to have more time with him.My second appointment was much more thorough and not rushed at all, but I still had to wait an hour.

My surgery went well, and I'm so thankful Dr. Carter is my surgeon! His aftercare program has been wonderful. He is very thorough with me, and while I did have one minor complication (a sticture) Dr. Carter was quick to catch it and correct it. I healed very quickly. Dr. Carter has been right there with me every step of the way. I've learned that the waiting time in his office is worth it, because I know he's just making sure every patient gets his full attention and care. I would recommend him to anyone.

I loved him from the start. He is has a very open policy. He tells you right from the beginning what he expects and if you can't do that, then he's not the surgeon for you. My impression of him has only gotten better as time has passed. I'm not to impressed with his staff. They could learn to have a better bedside manner but would and do encourage people to use him as a surgeon.

Dr. Carter is the most wonderful surgeon i have ever met. he is so nice. the reason I chose him to do my surgery is because of his strictness & dedication to his before & after care. if you need ANYTHING @ ANYTIME all you have to do is page him & he will meet you at the hospital, unless it's absoloutly impossible. I haven't had the surgery yet, but I can't wait.

Doctor Carter is the best surgeon I have ever meet. He has a before and after program of care very structered. I have sent him many new patients. We were total impressed with him from the first visit to his office, he described everything he was going to do and all the risk involved in the surgery. His office staff are just wonderful they cheer you on and are always willing to help you anyway they can. Doctor Carter has helped me change my like and thanks to him I did my surgery and have never had any problems. I am 168 lbs down in one year and would do it again in a heart beat. BUt only with him to do it for me.

The first impression I had of Dr. Carter was really good. I realized quickly that he is a soft spoken, well educated and caring surgeon. His office staff seem to be happy to do everything they could to make this process a good one. The only thing negative that I could say is that when you have a scheduled appointment, be prepared to wait much longer than that appointment time. But it is worth the wait, I have never felt rushed while with him. He highly emphasizes aftercare and seems to have a really well structure aftercare program. He took his time to make sure that I was fully aware of the surgery risks and how much I am going to need to commit to the aftercare so that I will have a successful recovery.

I love Dr.Carter. He did my sister WLS and he has been wonderful the whole time. I trust him completely.
If it did change, it changed for the better.

Wonderful. I love them all. They have been so very good time me. They are the greatest.

It take a little time to get into see him when you got for your appointments.

He is very adament about after care.
Yes. Very tuff.

He has talked about everything with me and made me feel very safe with him.

I would have my own family go to him.

Dr Paul Carter is my surgeon. He is a very nice man. He was very informative,by answereing all of my questions. I like his staff too. They are all kind of quiet at first, but after you talk to them a little they take you right in as one of the family. I can honestly say there isnt any thing that i did not like about Dr.Carter or his staff.
