Peter Tomasello, M.D. Bariatrics Bariatric Center
My first visit with Doctor was in December 2002. He was very professional and understanding. His concern seemed genuine. I was discouraged when my first letter for Insurance coverage was denied. But, we did appeal and waiting for it to hopefully be approved. I have experienced for the most part Dr.Tomasello's staff have been helpful. It does seem as though there is a lot of turn-over in the office and this may burden the present staff with attending to us as patient's(question's,answare's and or need's & concerns). Thing's handled by Dr. staff. Do plan to wait a while in Dr.'s office, scheduling seems to be a problem as well. But let's face it...waiting usually goes with seeing any one in the medical field. I will stay positive no matter what, my confidence is in the surgeon and his ability's! Will post progress if any!
I was introduced to Dr. T at his seminar at University Hosp. He seemed prfessional, knowledgable and friendly.
I talked to an OR nurse who has worked with him for over 20 years and her glowing account of his perfectionism and abilities. sold me.
His right hand Angie, is compassionate, helpful and willing to go the extra mile for his patients. I have met with him twice, once for me and once for my husband. He is aware that we are a unique couple and made him laugh.
He is very thorough about thinking this through and that it is NOT a quick fix or magic pill. I like that.
On the negative : the average wait in his office is over 1 hour to spend 15 min. with him. This should be addressed. My time is valuable , too.
I had my first impression of Dr. Thomasello whenmy friend and I attended his orientation. He seemed to be very knowledgeable about the surgery although he had just started doing Lap surgery. I did not want to be his first client, so chose to look for another surgeon. I checked with Vista who informed me that there were not many surgeon to do this type of surgery on Vista HMO plan. I was blessed to have a PCP staff that was knowledgable about Dr. Thomasello's skills as a surgeon. I chose to accept their recommendation and schedule an appointment with Dr. T. I called on Thursday and I got an appointment the following week. I was very please with the staff. They were very pleasant. Angie was wonderful. I had already completed a lot of my medical examines prior to going to the doctor because I was wanting to be ahead after my PCP had indicated my health was not good. After the meeting with the doctor he indicated that I needed a psy. and pre op. I am waiting to get cleared from the psy. I am hoping I will be cleared very soon.
After the first surgeon droped us,I prayed,I had already done so much work on this, all my appts for clearance were made,The day I was told I just came from my dietian($130).so I got on the phone, and called my insurance for a referral, they were no help! So, iI prayed some more,I then called A hospital referral service. We went through my cigna book till we found Dr.Tomassello.I feel the lord was watching over me,and I feel blessed to have found him ,With all my heart and soul I belive the father lead me to him.I also want to thank the sisters of AMISK for praying the blood of Jesus over him.
Dr. Tomasello Was very informative the first time I met him at his educational seminar and the second time for my free consultation.
His office staf is nice but they could be a little more courteous with their phone skills. He suggest that after surgery it's best to attend his support group. He's told me a lot more info than the previous surgeon i've spoken to. Like in any surgery there are risk to take and he informs you of the. Once I have the surgery I will inform you more about him.
