My first impression of Dr. Matin was very comfortable that he knew exactly what I felt like and struggles I'd been going through. I found I trusted he spoke honestly and answered all my questions respectfully. Each time I met or spoke with him, my confidence and level of trust deepened, feeling assured I was making the best choices in facility, surgeon, and proecedure. Everyone on staff were very supportive as a whole team in getting me through each phase leading up to and including tests, nutrition training, insurance approval, surgery, followups and support groups. All my questions were fully answered and all surgery risks were explained .rnrnInitially, the thing I liked least was his doubtful questioning of whether I was really ready or not. I now believe he was making sure I was as committed as he was for the long haul. I only admire and respect him even more now. He expects 100% participation from me in my aftercare program by making all my followup appointments, attending support group meetings, and helping others in the program.rnrnOverall, Dr. Matin is the best. I couldn't have asked for anyone better. He knew my concerns for laproscopic, complications, and insurance obstacles. He worked with my PCP on my other health issues as well. He took the time to put in place extra precautions when surgery went longer to ensure no leakages. He is truly a gifted and competent surgeon. His bedside manner was gentle and supportive. His humorous side caught me off guard a few times for a much needed laugh. rnrnI'm so grateful to be given the miracle of life.

I met Dr Matin at the seminar Baylor gave for WLS. He was very out going and did not mind explaining in detail any and all questions that were ask of him. He did not sugar coat things and was extremely informative and realistic about this surgery. In my dealings with him for the pre-op consultation he was the same way. I felt that he was very concerned with my health and well being especially with all the tests he requires. His office staff is friendly and helpful. I would recommend Dr Matin for any surgery that he performs not just WLS. I believe he is an all around excellent doctor.

This Dr. exudes confidence and knowledge. He has been featured in many local magazines as one of the best doctors in the Baylor Healthcare System and in the area.rnI have grown to respect him even more after he performed my surgery. He does whatever is necessary to get his patients the best care. He is very straight forward and doesn’t like to sugar coat things. His staff is very helpful and friendly and they go out of their way to accommodate you. rnDr. Matin emphasizes the after care program greatly and he even pops into the support group meetings to see which of this patients are attending (you will hear from him if you don’t attend!)rnMy first consultation with Dr. Matin, he asked me to convince him in my own words as to why I need this surgery. You could tell he’s not after the money and that he truly cares to hear your story. My visitations with him are as long or as short as I want them to be. He is never in a hurry when he’s talking to you and he awards all his attention when you’re visiting with him. rnOverall, I am very satisfied with my experience with Dr. Matin. He is highly skilled, personable and takes the time to listen to his patients. rn

I first met Dr. Matin at the Baylor Irving seminar in June. I chose him because he seemed to be very approachable and informative. He was also not all \"everything is going to be perfect afterwards\" because I didn't want that. I wanted real answers, the good and the bad. rnrnI also chose him because a co-worker had her gallbladder removed by him and she really liked him. She said he was very good about coming around and checking on her and informing her parents of what was going on while she was recovering and asleep when he came by. rnrnI had my first consultation with him on 9/6 and again, I felt comfortable with him at his office. His assistant, Veronica is very nice and friendly too. I really didn't have that many questions for him because I have done so much research. He gave me some info on the surgery and recovery process and said that I should do well because of my height and age. All went smoothly and I am ready to go now!! rnrnI look forward to having him do my surgery and becoming his patient for life.
