Dr Khaitan is an excellent surgeon. Very professional and her staff is great. I had my surgery at Geauga hospital and I got the best care there.
My name is Angela Pawlowski my sleeve surgery was on 12-11-14. I want to let you all know anyone in the NE ohio looking for a bariatric surgeon. I highly recommend UH hospitals bariatric center Geauga. I had Dr. Khaitan as my surgeon who is wonderful. Her partner Dr. Breitmen did my EGD and went out of his way after my EGD was over to come to my bedside and answer the questions I had. Their staff is absoulutely amazing and will go out of their way to help you anyway they can. Now for UH Geauga Hospital surgical staff and recovery unit is amazing you are treated with respect. The surgery staff all came out introduced themselves to me and made me feel at ease we were laughing all the way to the OR. After my surgery the recover staff kept my pain meds up and watched me with a nurse at my bedside the entire time of recovery. When I was moved to my private room and met my night nurse she asked what she could do for me we discussed that the first goal was pain control to remind her every time I need pain meds (she did have 5 other patients she had besides me) She was so kind to write on my wash board on the wall what time I was due for meds. When I buzzed for anything specially meds she was right there no waiting. When I was discharged I called for my family to come my day nurse had me discharged papers signed me dressed so all she had to do when my family got there was to pull out my IV and I was ready to leave my family didnt even have time to take off their coats. Dr. Khaitan is very thorough and takes every precaution to ensure that her patients succeed before and after surgery. She takes a very candid approach in educating her patients about bariatric surgery and makes it clear that surgery is a tool. Dr. Khaitan is adamant that each patient's success depends on their individual efforts. Her team is very supportive and knowledgeable as well. I definitely recommend her to anyone seeking a qualified and thorough surgeon.
Deciding to have weight loss surgery is life changing. It took many years of failed dieting attempts, health problems and struggles with daily activities of life- such as painting my toe nails or sitting in a chair with arm handles before I explored weight loss surgery for myself. As a University Hospitals employee, I was connected with Dr. Leena Khaitan for an initial evaluation for weight loss surgery. From my very first appointment with Dr. Khaitan until today 2 years later- Dr. Khaitan has continued to treat me with kindness, compassion and quality physician/ surgeon care. It has not been an easy journey to loose the weight, although certainly life-changing and rewarding. Dr. Khaitan and her dedicated team of insurance specialists, dieticians and nurses have been right there with me on this journey. It is very apparent that her and the Bariatric team and University Hospitals are very dedicated to their patients and their careers. This team and program has impacted me personally and professionally so much that I now have dedicated my career to this very Bariatric Surgery Department and University Case Medical Center as one of the Nurse Coordinator.
This surgery has given me the confidence and health to truly start living a life. Having a surgeon such as Dr. Khaitan and her dedicated team makes a treamendous impact on overall success of weight loss surgery!
I met Dr Leena Khaitan on May 2nd 2012 ...She is very pleasent goes over with you the surgical procedure ..the requirments...and making you understand this isn't the easy way out..it's going to be work for the rest of my life..I will control my own destiny but this as a tool will give me the extra boost in the direction of my goals.I recommend her to any new patients and will be willing to accept any friend requests if I can help in any way.

What can i say? Pure joy! I had met this doctor, and she was straight up about this surgery. She told me what was expected, and explained that this surgery was a TOOL for better health. I followed the diet plan to the "T", even the strict diet that is 2 weeks before, I followed it 4 weeks before. My surgery was on Feb 14th 2012. When i started this weight loss 8 months prior i was 270 lbs. Currently i am at 204 lbs. I feel better and am more mobile then ever. I was born with a deformed leg, and was always heavy all of my life. I decided at the age of 51 to find my JOY and just change my way of life. And Leena Khaitan and her wonderful people helped me to try and achieve that. I am still seeing her and my dietician monthly and am feeling much better for it. Once they wheeled me into surgery i couldnt thank each and every person who was helping her. I said "this is just not an everyday surgery for you's, you are helping me change my life and I want to thank you all". PURE JOY!
Ny first impression of Dr. Khaitan is that she cares about you as a patient and as well as an individual. Her office staff is awesome! The nurse that works with Dr. Khaitan is a patient of hers also and she only has great things to say about Dr. Khaitan. I really do not have anything negative to say about the Dr. she tells you what to expect and explains that this is a tool to help you lose the weight and that you determine how successful you will be with your weight loss. Her bedside manner and surgical competency are both great. I would recommend her to anyone in Ohio that are seeking a competent surgeon for weight loss.
My first impression of her was that she seemed very sweet and caring. I still feel this way about her. The office staff have been very helpful and on task.
