William Yates, M.D. Bariatrics Bariatric Center

8/23-I am very happy that I chose Dr. Yates. He has been great with how he handles my questions & concerns after the surgery. I really enjoy the fact that there is a Dr. that does something to help you lose weight & doesn't just tell you that you need to lose weight.

I have only met Dr. Yates once so far, but he seems to be a very nice person. He appreared to be very concerned about my reasons for the surgery & was complimentary of my knowledge of the procedure. I liked the way he made sure my motive was correct. For example, he wanted to make sure I understood all the risks & that this wasn't a "quick fix" for a long term problem. That the way we end up looking is a bi-product of a healthier body & life-style. I'm looking forward to working with him further.

There is a girl that works in Dr. Yate's office named LeeAnn. She has been great! She really has calmed all my fears & frustration with the insurance stuff.

I met Dr. Yates this past weekend. I must say that I was thoroughly impressed. The office staff was wonderful as well. I drove down 4 hours from Kansas City and of course, I got lost. I was about 45 minutes late arriving at the office. I called and they told me to get there as soon as I could. When I arrived, they greeted me and to my surprise, I was able to see Dr. Yates although I was extremely late and he had a prior commitment. I also attended the Free Weight Loss Seminar that same day. He addressed all of my concerns and answered all of my questions as well as the questions of others. I am looking forward to having the surgery with Dr. Yates. I feel like he is very competent and I am ready. I am eagerly awaiting approval from my insurance company.

To be honest my first impression of Dr Yates was "what a HUNK" He is an absolutely "GQ" looking type of guy - which made this process just that much nicer. However I know that this is not the primary important impression. I felt very comfortable with him and his knowledge. My husband and I spent a great deal of time talking to him and he answered all our questions. He is very laid back and easy going. It was frustrating however because he rarely is on time and sometimes his priorities are on other things when he is spending time with you but he is always apologetic about it and once you get to know him you realize that is just the way he is.
It is his office staff that completely makes up for his "doctor" type of behavior. They are awesome, knowledgeable, and so supportive. His nurse Kathy was available to me 24/7 thru the whole thing and never minded calls at 5 AM in the moring. Dr Yates folow up/aftercare was the primary reason I chose him. Plus he has a staff that is also available to help at any time. I had some psychological issures and his therapist was there for me several times after the surgery.
Since I have had the surgery I have had the opportunity to hear Dr Yates speak to others about this surgery. I also have heard other doctors and Dr. Yates knowledge in my opinion , is far better than any doctor I have found. I would not question his integrity, competence in any way. Everything was extremely professional and wonderful. The more you get to know him the better he gets!!!! He's my MAN!

I first met Dr. Yates, Jul 6,2000. I had to wait only maybe a half hour to speak to him.
Found him to be very easy to speak with. He explained the surgery the postive things as
well as the not so pleasant things. He appeared to be a very caring and understanding person.
The little contact that I did have with his office staff was also very nice. I have been
speaking with Bonnie from the California Office a lot, she's a angel in herself. She has
answered all my questions and let me know that I could call her anytime about anything.
Still waiting to hear from the insurance company, time will tell.

WOW! I WAS BLOWN OUT OF THE WATER BY THIS MAN'S KINDNESS AND COMPASSION. IT WAS ONE OF TWO EXPERIENCES IN MY LIFE WHERE THE DR. DIDN'T LOOK AT ME IN TOTAL DISGUST AND HAND ME A DIET TO FOLLOW! I AM HERE TO TELL YOU I WAS A RAW NERVE WALKING IN THERE... ANYWAY I HAD THE FLIGHT OR FIGHT REFLEX IN PLACE AND I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT ......HE DEALT WITH MY NERVES ,MY CONCERNS ,AND HE GAINED MY CONFIDENCE ALL IN ONE SWOOP! PATIENCE -HE HAD IT. COMPASSION -HE HAD IT. ANSWERS -HE HAD THEM. HIS EXPLANATIONS WERE VERY EASY TO UNDERSTAND AND HE DREW ME A DIAGRAM AND GAVE ME A VERY ENCOURAGING CALENDAR SHOWING HIS PTS. POST OP. I FOUND THE STAFF EXTREMELY CORDIAL AND HELPFUL .THERE WAS A MIX UP WITH MY PAPERWORK BECAUSE I HAD SENT IT TO WRONG PLACE AND ANDREA HAD IT ALL TOGETHER AND READY FOR ME . BONNIE HAS BEEN A GREAT SOURCE OF PATIENCE AS MY SLEEP APENA AND NIGHT SCHEDULE MAKES ME KIND OF DITZI SOMETIMES, SHE HAS BEEN EXTREMELY UPFRONT AND ENCOURAGING. I AM A VERY SENSITIVE PERSON AND I CAN TELL YOU I WAS NOT SLIGHTED IN ANYWAY.AND MY DIGNITY WAS LEFT IN TAC. SOOOOOOOOOOO..............NOW I WAIT FOR THE LETTER TO MY INSURANCE AND PRAY. I FEEL I HAVE FOUND MY SURGEON I WILL LET YOU KNOW IF ANYTHING CHANGES. I DID WANT TO ADD I TALKED WITH 4 OF HIS PTS. IN VARIOUS STAGES OF POST OP AND THEY HAD NOTHING BUT GOOD THINGS TO SAY ABOUT HIM AND THEY WERE GOOD ABOUT MY BARRAGE OF QUESTIONS TOO. I WANT TO LIVE !

HE ALSO WILL BE WORKING WITH ME FOR AFTERCARE BECAUSE I LIVE ABOUT 300 MILES AWAY.
LATE -PROBABLY A BIT BUT IN THE SCHEME OF THINGS I FEEL HE MUST HAVE BEEN SPENDING AS MUCH TIME WITH SOMEONE ESLE AS HE WAS WITH ME AND WHEN YOU THINK OF THAT COMPARED TO SAVING MY LIFE SO WHAT IF I HAD TO WAIT A BIT
I CAN ONLY TELL YOU I HAD A GOOD EXPERIENCE
AFTER SURGERY;
I WAS TREATED LIKE GOLD .MY SURGEON AND HIS ASST NURSE CAME TO SEE ME EVERYDAY .THEY CONSTANTLY SHOWED PATIENCE AND EXPLAINED ALL THAT WAS HAPPENING TO ME EVERY TREATMENT AND I FELT LIKE I WAS A REAL CONCERN TO HIM I KNOW FOR A FACT HE AND CATHY OFTEN CALLED TO CHECK ON MY PROGRESS DURING THE DAY AND NIGHT HE WAS JUST A PHONE CALL AWAY AT ALL TIMES AND NEVER RAN IN AND OUT. I HAVE NO RESERVATIONS RECCOMMENDING DR YATES AND HIS TEAM TO ANYONE.AS FOR FORREST PARK HOSPITAL I WAS GIVEN GREAT CARE THE NURSES WERE SUPERB ONE PARTICULAR NURSE EVEN SAVED MY LIFE WHEN I CODED AT 2:30AM THE DAY AFTER SURGERY...................so 5 STARS TO DR> YATES AND CATHY AND THE TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

William Yates is a highly intelligent and caring individual. Although he was extremely late for our first meeting (about 2 hrs) He didn't rush me through to catch up.
The office staff was extremely helpful, but their facility in Forest Park Hospital leaves a lot to be desired. It was dirty and left a lasting negative impression.
Dr Yates has an excellent aftercare program but lets you know the surgery is just an aid. You have to be active and make an over all lifestyle change to succeed!
I found Dr. Yates compassionate and would rate our first meeting a strong 10!

My first impression of him was very good. He seemed to be truly up to date on his information. I really like him, but when I was in the hospital...I didn't like the fact that he and he's partner share patients in the hospital. I had his partner Dr. Mitchell check up on me instead of Dr. Yates himself. Everyother day, they took turns visiting me. Overall, he's good and knowledgeable; however, you may have to probe him for some information.

I think Dr.Yates is the best! He has a complete program of after care. His staff is
very supportive. He explains all the risk and even checked in when ever he was in the hospital for other things! He is very caring and has a great bedside manner. He seems to put his patients as his first priority. He has even developed his own line of adult chewable vitamins and carries a supply of protein drinks that are best out there, they have the most protein and best taste and nutriation. He has my highest rating.

So good looking kind , on the ball.Office people are wonderful I liked everything..
