DR.Chua is a very pleasant person to talk with.He made me fell comfortable and at ease.Dr. Chua explain everything to me about the pros and cons
about the lap-band.If anybody would ask me for referral, I would gladly recommened him.

12-27-05 When I first came to the layton office I met with Dr. Valedarize and he scared me because he asked me what could be the worst thing that could happen to you while in surgery and I responded to saying ;my blood preesure could get high and he said in a harsh and scary voice NO you could die and then he asked me were you ready to take theat step in operation and you have seven kids and I said I hope don't nothing happen to me and he responded by saying this is surgery anything could happen. I am aware of what can happen in surgery but I do not thik he was presenting himself in a safe and manerable way because a Doctor like that would make yopu thik if he is trying to kill you. On 12-21-05 I met Dr.Chua for the first time and he was very soft spoken and answerd all my questions and asked if there was anything else that I might have forgooten to ask and I told him No. Dr. Chua did tell me that anything can happen in surgry but he said that he only works with board certified people and the anestigioligist is board certified as well. He said that I should not worry because he will take good care of me in the operating room and if something does seem to be going wrong they have alot of monitors that alerts everyone in the operating room thatr something is not right.The assistance at Dr.Chua's office is soooooo... helpfull and answers any questions that you are looking for on a scale from 0-10, the office setting is a 9, take the time to answer questions 10,getting thing done in a fasionable and manerable way 9 and Dr.Chua alone 10.

My surgeon was excellent. He was really concerned that I knew what I was getting into going in to the surgery. He met with me about 3 times before and took his time to make sure I was well educated about the procedure. He made me an appointment with a psychologist before to make sure I was stable. He was very thorough. He explained his background to me and after the surgery, checked on me every day. His office staff was always very supportive and professional. He really suggested that I get into an aftercare group, but I didn't think I would need it. His office does run groups. Now I see I may need some support. Overall, I think he is a great surgeon and I would and have suggested him to others considering the procedure. I truly believe he is one of the best in the business.

i've only seen and barely talked to him at his seminar but he made a very good impression he was very nice and made me feel very comfortable and he seemed very educated and i think he's gonna do a great surgery i have my first consult with him on june22nd then i'll tell some more:) Dec 8th 2004 I had so my consult hes really nice he treats you like a patient not like a dollar sign and he has a great staff kelly you rock!.

I was very impressed with the fact that Dr. Chua recommends the type of wls for each patient depending on his/her own lifestyle and needs. The other surgeons I'd seen did the exact same surgery for every patient. At my initial consult, Dr. Chua was very easy to talk to, He uses a terrific handout that details each surgery option and what to expect. I'm not sure if he have a structured aftercare program but he does offer a support group attended by health professionals. I also believe surgical competence and bedside manner are both important.

I had a consultation with DR. Chua. He waited an hour for me. I got lost. He wasn't mad. He had a good sense of humor. He answered all of the questions I had extensively. He likes to teach. I think he may have been disappointed I didn't ask more questions.

He was a very nice man - able to speak in Laymans terms to better explain the process. He was a direct, and non "beat around the bush" man. Helpful and mindful. He didn't waste a lot of time, which was important to me, and he did not "sugar" coat any of the details. I have all the faith in the world that he will take the best care of me that he can.

His after care program is EXCELLENT and I love attending the meetings each motnh. It helps to know you are not the only one having a problem or reaching a goal.

Overall I would give him a 10 out of 10 ... 5 Stars!

My first impression of Dr. Chua was that he really cares and wants to help find the correct surgery for you. I can't say he remembers ever patient by name but once he goes over your chart he remembers. Over time I would say my impression of him has gotten better. He is a really caring man and I beleive he loves his job. His office staff are very through and very helpful. I expressed to them when I wanted the surgery and they did their best to help me with that. I apperciate them greatly. He puts great emphasizes on aftercare because he wants you to be healthy first and foremost and then he wants you to have a successful surgery. He was very clear on what the risks were and he made me feel more comfortable. I mean I know what the risks are and he realted them to me very clerically and I understand. I feel like what he knows I know and vis versa. If I had to rate Dr.Chua from a 1-10, 1 being the worst and 10 being the best I would rate him as a 15.:) Can't answer that question as of today.

Dr Chua, is a very pleasant& patient Dr. I didn't spend much time with him because of his schedule but when I did meet him, he acted as if I had been a lifetime patient. The staff at his office took a bit of time adjusting to their over booking but after I realized that so many people are in need of help with obesity that it was worth the long wait times. I wish Dr Chua would have more time to spend with his patients, but I realize that God has a plan for him and it is under the knife & saving peoples lives.. Dr. Chua & his staff is doing a wonderful job and they really do care about people. Dr Rudich is an assoicate Dr. to Dr Chua and he has been just excellent he is very concerned about his patients. They are a wonderful staff of care givers.. I would recommend Dr. Chua & his staff to anyone.
