Dr. Parvez is a very caring surgeon. His bed side manner is exceptional. He made me feel so calm and assured me all was good. He spoke with me right before surgery and was there after. He spoke with me each day I was in the hospital and answered all questions. He spoke with me family before and after surgery and answered there questions as well. He makes sure this surgery is what you want and explains all risk and makes sure that the patient understands. My incision is healing very well, and I feel that he did a great job!

I had posted here about a year ago but it seems that it is not appearing now....I had my surgery on 8/26/2000 at Sanger Hospital. I can only say good things about Dr. Parvez and the hospital.

I have not had any complications at all from the surgery. I have lost about 110 lbs as of now. I have about 15 to go for goal.

I reccommend Dr Parvez to everyone that I talk to about the WLS.

Bravo Dr. Parvez, keep up the good work.....

I would like to see more aftercare support and would be willing to help out in my area...

Dr. Parvez is so very nice, and extreamly caring. His staff Iqbal, was on the move and only six weeks from meeting with them tell surgery date. That took alot of work on there side.Dr. Parvez is honest, hes not a money Dr.he does this because he loves to help people. He told me the gratest thing is seeing people come in for there post op's and how much happyer they are and heathyer they are and feel.

My surgery was open RNY on Jan. 28, 2002. Dr. Parvez does a clean incision, only 2 1/2 inches long, which is healing nicely. This surgeon is a nice man, but listen to him when he tells you what to do before and after surgery! My surgery was at St. Agnes hospital in Fresno and as I was being discharged the nurse told me, "Dr. Parvez' patients don't have complications, they just lose weight!" By the way, having the surgery at St. Agnes was wonderful, the floor I was on had staff trained in the care of gastric by-pass patients and they knew what they were doing, and treated me kindly and respectfully. If me or mine ever need any kind of surgery, I will talk to Dr. Parvez 1st!

Dr. Parvez is my hero!!! in plain English.

I have struggled with my weight all my life and met him at my top weight of 378 pounds at age 40. I was absolutely miserable. I could not walk, I was not sleeping well and it seemed like I was always getting sick. I had read about the surgery for over a year. It was a scary step for me. Dr. Parfez is very gentle and kind; he is a compassionate doctor with wonderful bedside manners.
I am originally from the Boston area and although I am 40 years old, I am still my mother’s baby girl, so needless to say, she was worried about me and rather than her being her while I was in the hospital, she flew out after. Well I left instructions for the doc to call her and he did, he was very patient and soothing. Even my mom 3000 miles away was comforted by the fact knowing that I was in good hands. He will not rush you out of the office, he will not just check on you and leave the room in a rush, you get that he cares. Like I said, he is my hero.

I was also impressed with his expertise. My scar is only 3 inches long. When he told he used to do surgery on stomach cancer and had been a surgeon for over 18 years and informed me on how much more difficult that was, I got that that this man could do this simple procedure and go figure, I have a little scar and everyone I know that has the same surgery has an eight or ten inch scar.

He follows up closely in the check up. I enjoyed working with his staff. They too liked working for him and too me that says a lot. I will continue to support Dr. Parvez and be willing to advertise and share in anyway that I can. Because he made my experience so positive and now I am so successful, having already lost 100 pounds and counting. No wonder, he is my hero. To me he is the best in the west. I could not have picked a better doc. I even love my little scar. (big grins)

I met with Dr. Parvez on 11-21-01, thought he was a nice man, who is concerned about me as a patient. His office staff during the day is brand new, and doesn't know a lot of information on the surgery, but the night staff was wonderful, fun & energetic.
I had to go in for the sleep study tests, along with the throat tests. The sleep tests are performed in the doctors office, and the throat tests are performed in a small 40 bed hospital in a town south of the doctors office.
The hospital beds were uncomfotable, and I was not allowed to recover at the hospital from the anasthesia, but instead forced to return to the doctors office 1 hour after being woken up. I was not a happy camper about that, and am still not.
I think the doctor was very helpful, but the staff needs some training.
I was informed by the doctor that with my medical insurance I should be approved in a few weeks, right around Christmas, and be able to have the surgery in the middle of January. That's fast!!

Dr. Parvez seems like a compassionate man.. He wants me to ask as many questions as I can think of. I wish the office staff was as informative as he is.
