Alan Bradshaw Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

I went into the surgery with all my questions answered. I was given the opportunity to discuss my fears and concerns. I was overall pleased with my surgery and care. He seems concerned about my care and my surgery overall. I have healed well and have had no complications from the surgery. I am enrolled in a support group and plan to attend my first post-op meeting the first week in May. I would rate the overall experience as a 9.

I had a positive experience with Dr. Bradshaw.rnHe was a sincere, honest and very informative doctor. He made sure I knew the risks involved and understood them, as well as the benefits of having the surgery and what to expect post-op if I didn't follow the aftercare program.rnHis staff is very knowledgeable and informative. Everyone always made me feel like an equal and were very patient with problems or questions, or fears that I had.rnDr. Bradshaw was wonderful before and after my surgery in Oct. 2004. When my insurance wasn't coming through with the money he told me how to call them and what to tell them and they complied.rnDr. Bradshaw's Bariatric Coordinator, Diana Fisher, is like a best friend to everyone she meets through the program and still corresponds with me even though I have moved to WI. I can always count on Diana to answer any questions I have. Susan Cosma, the Nutritionist always explained everything I needed to know and with all of their help I have been successful and proud to say I was a patient of Dr. Allen Bradshaw.rn

When I met with Dr. Bradshaw during my consultation, I found him to be compassionate and empathetic of my situation. He treated me with the utmost respect and regard. He provided me with thorough explanations of everything that would happen to me before , during, and after my surgery. He gave me extensive information about the physiology of my GI tract and how the surgery would affect that system. I had no post op complications at all. I felt extremely safe and well cared for. My experience was very positive.

I love Dr. Bradshaw. He made me feel more relaxed about the surgery, but at the same time made me aware of complications and the risks that may come due to having the RNY surgery.
He is very thorough with the surgeries he performs.
The staff was awesome.
I give Dr. Alan Bradshaw a 10 he is the best in my eyes.

Dr. Bradshaw is a very warm and caring man. He performed another surgery on me in May 2004 and I thought he did a nice job. The office didn't follow up with me afterward, but it was outpatient surgery.
The program is very thorough and I feel that Diana Fisher, the Bariatric Coordinator is a big part of the program's success. Dr. Bradshaw doesn't have quite as much experience as some of the other surgeons in North Carolina, but I certainly feel that as he does more surgeries he will become more and more of an expert.

I would like to thank Dr. Bradshaw for all he has done for my family and I. His first impression was a kind, caring and knowledgable surgeon. He always treated me with respect. He provided all the information to educate me in great detail. All patients should realize he cares about their well being as a whole person. He showed emphasis on pre op and post op care. All his staff was very supportive of the decision you make and provided great care. Shirley Nesbitt, FNP was a great part of this program also. She showed compassion to all that was involved. Dr. Bradshaw is a great example of a excellent surgeon, both competence and bedside manner. I thank him from the bottom of my heart, for all he has done for me.

My first impression of Dr. bradshaw was "my he's young." He's cute sweet and funny. Very informative and very careful about who he will perform this surgery on and making sure that the pateint is someone that will follow through with the things that they are supposed to do after the surgery. He would not even attempt to do the first surgery here in Asheville with out first spending almost a year putting together a top rate program for pre and post op. Seems very nice and very down to earth. Does a great job at making his patients feel cofident with his ability, without the high and mighty vibe that you get from alot of Doctors.
Most of his staff were very kind and helpfull.
After care is very important to him. He does have an after care program.
The risk of surgery were gone over by a letter in the mail, a pre-op class, A consultation with him, then a nother letter which was signed.
I would rate him a 9 on a scale of 1-10.
Both surgical competence and bedside manner were great.
