my first inpression of dr. argotte was very impressive, he took the time to explain my problem, and did look at me as some kind of hopefull case. or that the fact i was over weight. he seem to understand what i was going and the medical problems i was facing. he seem to understand how i was feeling.
Dr. Argotte took the time to explain the procedure and to tell me in depth what it was that he would be doing.
He also did a lot of test to make sure that i would beable to with stand the pressure of the surgery and any other medical problem i would or might have. He has a very good bedside manner. and his staff was excellent on helping me get approved by insurence company. he explained all the risk that was involed to the fullest extent, and he has a excellent aftercare program.
i enjoy him as a doctor. he gave me back my life,

Dr Argotte is wonderful, he is and excellent sugeon, Ky is lucky to have him. He certainly changed my life by doing the gastric bypass on me. I would highly recommend him. His bedside manner is great, and he really cares about his patients. I have since had gallbaldder sugery by him as well, again, he is wonderful.
His office needs more help, and he stays so busy, he needs a partner, because his patient load is just growing by leaps and bounds.
His dietary follow ups are great as well, he has an excellent dietian, if you do what they tell you there is no reason not to be successfull.
I would rate his whole progam with an A+
You just have to be compliant and go to your follow up appointments and be sure and have your blood work like you are supposed to.

Dr. Daniel Fabito, of the New Start Weight Center in St. Louis, Missouri, actually did my surgery. He seemed to be a very experienced and capable surgeon. At first I liked him alot, but he ended up not being readily available and wasn't a good listener. I never had a consult alone with him prior to surgery, it was in a group setting, sort of like a small seminar. He didn't do any sort of physical exam prior to surgery. He ended up retiring one month after my surgery, with only a terse short note in the mail that I would have to find another Bariatric Surgeon to follow up with. By that time, I'd already done so.
Because I was SO dissatisfied with New Start in St. Louis and St. Alexius hospital, I had already decided I did NOT want to follow up with NS. In mid-April, 2005, 18 days post-op, I transferred my post-op care to the New Life Weight Loss Center of Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky, under the care of DR. ALEX ARGOTTE. By that time, I was so sick I was almost desperate to find someone to help me. He hospitalized me at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY, and fixed everything wrong with me! He's a superb physician, has a very nice and caring staff, and Lourdes Hospital was a good experience as well.
I wish I'd gone to this hospital and ... especially ...this PHYSICIAN ... to begin with!

My First impression of Dr. Argotte was a very friendly one.
My Impression of Dr Argotte over time has changed for the better if anything.
His Staff has changed over time aswell and is ok.
I didnt like the fact that he moved an Hour away to do this surgery, But I am ok with it other wise...
Dr.Argotte is very upfront and will tell you like it is.
He wants his patients to see him regularly for one Year and then on a several months bases after that first year.
Yes; very structured.
Dangerous but very successful operation.
He is Number 1 in my book.
Both are great. He has taken very good care of me...
Nothing Negitive; as He is a great caregiver and does a great job in surgery.
This is just My own personal oppinion for just being 7 Month post-op patient.
Thanks; Florinda Carter

I am so grateful for my doctor, Dr. Argotte. I have had a good experience with him. He is very caring and concerned bout your well-being. He is very knowledgable and thorough in his field. He explains all aspects of this surgery and what it can and can't do for you. He also makes sure that you totally understands the complications that can happen with this surgery. The office staff is wonderful, and very informative.

We first saw Dr. Argotte at a seminar he was hosting. We were very impressed by his knowledge and his caring attitude of being willing to go to different locations and present a seminar on the surgery. We met Dr. Argotte at his office on 9/1/05. He was very thorough in explaining the procedure. He provided us a list of tests that must be taken care of, but he is allowing my husband to take care of most of these tests in IL where we live. We were very impressed with him. His staff was friendly and they answer any questions we have. Our only downfall is that we have Il medicaid, which he doesnt take. We will be paying out of pocket for his costs. We would give him a 9 out of 10 with 10 being impossible, lol.

Dr. Argotte is great! At first he seemed a little stand-offish but the more I get to know him the more I see that he really is a caring doctor. His office staff is great too although a little disorganized. Dr. Argotte is very thorough both before and after you have the surgery. He requires lots of tests and stresses the importance of aftercare and following the guidelines. He lets you know in no uncertain terms that the real key to success after surgery is strict adherence to both the diet and exercise. The risks of surgery are spelled out to you on the first visit and he stresses that the surgery is not easy! He has a great nutritionist and bariatric coordinator who follow you every step of the way to make sure you are getting adequate nutrition and they stress that no matter what you should call them if you have any problems. The only bad thing I can really say about his practice is that you sometimes have to wait a really long time when you have an appointment, but I believe that this is because he not only sees gastric bypass patients but also other patients that are carryovers from his general surgery practice. That and the fact that he does not rush through his patient visits. Overall I am really pleased with his practice and believe that he is a great doctor all around.

I HAD MY CONSULT WITH DR ARGOTTE YESTERDAY AND I HAVE TO SAY THAT EVERYTHING THAT I HAVE HEARD ABOUT HIM IS VERY TRUE. HE IS VERY NICE AND ANSWERS ALL OF MY QUESTIONS. I DID WAIT A LONG TIME IN THE WAITING ROOM BUT IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT. THE OFFICE STAFF ARE NICE BUT ARE NOT VERY EFFECIENT, VERY UNORGANIZED AND ONE PERSON WAS IN A BAD MOOD SO SHE WAS KIND OF RUDE BUT NOT LIKE SHE COULD HAVE BEEN. ALL IN ALL I WAS VERY IMPRESSED AND WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYBODY FOR WLS SURGERY.

Surgery date June 10,2005
I really like Dr Argotte,my first impression was that he really cares about his patients .
He is very honest about WLS and let us know that it is just a TOOL to help us.In the sessions I had been in he stressed that this was a change in our lives as we knew it.
If we have doubts, then we should not do it.
He stressed the aftercare is VERY IMPORTANT.
I like and trust him and I would recommend him to anyone. I believe his #1 concern is his patients.

Dr. Argotte is very nice. I was happy with our preop consultation. He is very thorough in explaining everything that will happen. His nurses have high praise for him and all I have read about him is good. He is very thorough and requires several tests but I consider that a good thing. At this point I have no complaints with Dr.Argotte. I am a little concerns with how long it takes his office staff to get things done but I'm sure they are quiet busy.
