Thank you Dr. Elhorr:

Dr. Elhorr is the BEST! He is an excellent surgeon. He cares about the person as well as the condition. If he is your surgeon, consider yourself very lucky.

Dr. Ali Elhorr is the best! He is very professional, caring and will go out of his way to make sure you are comfortable! I canceled all the consultations with the others surgeons after I met with him! I knew he was the one! I am very satisfied with the lipo procedure! I definitely recommend him!

My surgeon Dr. Elhorr did an excellent job on my surgery. I trusted him from the beginning and he didn't let me down. He is a true professional and to me that was most important. I didn't have seminars, or group therapies. There was no pre-op liquid diet. His staff did get me through the insurance approval. I am truly grateful for Dr. Elhorr, who got me to the other side of my life and in one piece. I have had no problems after surgery and he even encourages me to get a hold of him by text if I need anything or have questions.

I didn't talk to him very much. I came to appreciate him more as time went on.rnStaff were not very communicative. rnI didn't know anything about the surgery. I'm sure this is mostly a staff problem. I was given an appointment without any information.rnFuture patients should be aware that they need to get information on the type of lap band and after care. I flew in from CA and was operated on the with only a diet plan and directions to hospital.rnBecause I live in CA, nothing was said about after care. Before I signed papers in the hospitalrnthe hospital staff said there was a risk with any surgery. rnI never even met him until I was being prepped for surgery.rnHe called to check on me at home. I had lost 20 pounds but it stopped then and I started gain.rnHe seems to be a very competence but when I called with a problem. He never called me back in a timely fashion. I don't think he should treat out of state clients because there isn't any after care. I don't even know what type of band was put in. It is not working, I am gaining weight. I am on Medicare, so I didn't except first class care. I do expect a phone call telling me what type of band he put in so I can go to a Fill Center.

My first impression of Dr. Elhorr was great he was very friendly, made me feel at ease. throughout my experience my impression never changed. The staff I believe was one of the best I've encountered. Really theres nothing I can say bad about my dealings with Dr. Elhorr and his staff. Though I live in another state he continue personally to call and check on me, you don't see that kind of care to often these days. I highly recommend Dr. Elhorr and the staff of DMC as the place to have your surgery done. Dr. Elhorr offer suggestion and other doctors, if you do not live in Detroit, for aftercare programs. I rate his overall service and personality at a 10 which is the highest.rnWhen you are looking for a surgeon you want one that is very competencr and one that has very good bedside manners, you need both to gain the confidence of your patients. Dr. Elhorr has both.rnrnThis is what I personnally experienced while I was there. It may seem impossible but I did not have any negative experience. It may be different for other but I felt great the whole while.

I chose Harper Hospital in Detroit, Mi to have bariatric surgery because it is a teaching hospital, it is less expensive than any others I found and it came highly recommended to me from a friend who had surgery there a year ago. (She traveled to Harper all the way from San Diego, Ca!)rn So, just recently I had a Realize Band put in by Dr. Elhorr at Harper Hospital. When I met Dr. Elhorr I immediately felt at ease and reassured. He makes excellent eye contact and has a gentle manner. He saw me again the morning after surgery in the hospital, examined my incisions, asked if i had any questions and made sure I was walking and doing my breathing exercises. After arriving home in Kansas I received a call from Dr. Elhorr to check on me. I am very impressed with him and my experience at Harper.rn

The surgeon that was originally scheduled to do my gastric band surgery had a serious emergency and I was already prepared and waiting on the surgery gurney. So his partner, Dr. Ali Elhorr, introduced himself and after a brief conversation, I gave the go ahead to proceed with surgery. His staff is very competent with medical file transfers, scheduling and what ever else was needed. Since I was 120+ miles away from Detroit, I did not visit with either Doctor prior to surgery for any counceling but had plenty of literature emailed to me by various services connected with the Doctors. Harper Hospital is part of Wayne State University which is a teaching hospital. Dr. Elhorr visited by himself once and then with interns the day after surgery. I was called by his partner a couple of days after I came home to see how I was doing. I am one week out from surgery and doing well. I think he is a competent surgeon and his bedside manner is great too. I will be going to their office for fills.
