My expereince wasn't very good so I'd rather keep my comments to myself except to say that I should have researched my choices better rather then taking the first place that I found my insurance would pay. That is one thing I would like to stress to everyone who is looking for a surgeon. CHECK EVERYTHING OUT!!! Including the hospital where you'll stay.

I met Dr. Bruce and Dr. Clarey, both and found them both to be very nice and very knowledgeable and I believe that having them both do my surgery, I am in good hands. Lots of exp wonderful staff, Jean should get a raise lol; all the staff is very helpful and wonderful! i have had the best doctors yet

I first met Dr. Clarey at the informational slide show you must attend. She was very informative. Also at the meeting I met other staff members, they too were also very helpful and informative. I have yet to meet the other two Doctors in the practice. I have had appointments at two of the three offices, both passed inspection! :) Surgery is scheduled July 8th. I already have my first "after" appointment scheduled. They had a dietician at my pre-admission testing to meet with me. Very helpful! I am a self-pay patient so some of the financial things were not fun to deal with. I look forward to my surgery and working with Dr. Clarey and her staff to make this a success for me!

I have only met Dr. Clarey once, but I felt very much at ease with her. I feel like she knows what she is talking about, she answered all my questions, which were not always so easy either.

Her staff were just wonderful, making me feel like I was the star patient of the day.

I thought she was very informative and helpful. She took her time to answer all my questions. I had quite a long list. She was confident in her abilities which made me feel very calm. I loved the fact that she smiled and took extra steps to put me at ease. I liked how informed the office staff was about the surgery and the cost.

I liked her, she was very kind.
I thought she was very caring through the whole ordeal and always concerned.
They were all very nice and helpful.
She makes sure that you come in whenever it is needed or if you are having any problems.
About the only thing that they have is a support group that meets once a month.
They showed us slides about the surgery and about the risks that are involved.
I would rate Dr. Clarey as excellent.
I think surgical competence is top priority but also bedside manner should be great too.
The only thing that they did not do was send me to see a pysciatrist before hand and also I had no clue that I would go thru some very major and I mean major depression afterwards and other addictions that I didn't have before the surgery. We weren't warned of that and I also think that they should have you follow-up with a pysciatrist for a long time after your surgery. Honestly, the weight loss is great but had I known that I was going to go thru all of this major crisis afterwards then I probably would not have chosen this surgery.

I REALLY FELT COMFORTABLE WITH DR. CLAREY. SHE THROUGHLY EXPLAINED WHAT WOULD HAPPEN DURING AND AFTER SURGERY ALONG WITH THE COMPLICATIONS THAT COULD OCCUR. SHE SEEMED VERY UNDERSTANDING OF MY SITUATION.

BECAUSE I HAD SOME COMPLICATIONS, I SAW HER ON A MORE REGULAR BASIS THAN MOST WLS PATIENTS WOULD SEE THEIR SURGEON. MY OPINION WAS THE SAME, SHE WAS CARING AND COMFORTED ME WHEN I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED WITH THE COMPLICATIONS I HAD.
THE OFFICE STAFF WAS WONDERFUL. PATTY IN THE INSURANCE PRECERT OFFICE WAS WONDERFUL AND ALWAYS EAGER TO ANSWER MY QUESTIONS. JEAN WAS HELPFUL FOR ANY QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE. THE NURSES AND OFFICE STAFF WERE VERY GOOD ALSO.

AFTERCARE IS EMPHACIZED AND THAT YOU WILL NEVER EAT THE SAME AGAIN. PORTION CONTROL AND NO SUGAR AND WATCHING CARBS AND CALOIRES ARE IMPORTANT.
THERE IS A SUPPORT GROUP MONTHLY IN DAYTON WHERE YOU CAN GET A LOT OF ANSWERS AND INFO ON THINGS BEFORE AND AFTER WLS.
THE RISKS WERE COVERED BUT I WAS NOT GOING TO HAVE RISKS, BUT I DID. A FEW DAYS AFTER I GO HOME I DEVELOPED A WOUND INFECTION AND HAD TO GO IN A WEEK AFTER SURGERY FOR AN INCISION AND DRAINAGE OF THE INCISION. BECAUSE I WAS INACTIVE DUE TO THE SECOND SURGERY, I DEVELOPED BLOOD CLOTS IN MY LUNGS AND LEGS AND WAS IN THE HOSPITAL A WEEK. I DID HAVE A WOUND VAC PLACED AT THAT TIME TO HELP THE HEALING OF WOUND. NOW THAT I AM OUT FIVE MONTHS, I DO NOT REGRET GOING THROUGH THE BAD TIMES OF THE COMPLICATIONS, I AM ENJOYING LIFE MORE THAN I EVER HAVE.

I liked both Dr.Clarey and Dr. Bruce they have been doing this surgery for along time. And that's what I liked.

Dr. Clarey and Dr. Bruce are D.O.'s , not M.D.'s.

Very professional; down to earth; supportive and compassionate.

Not yet.

A very supportive team; surprizingto find this in medicine; not a group distanced from the patient's needs and wants

Can't say I can think of any negatives

Relies on her team and colleagues

Greatly; well developed support system

Yes

Frankly but encouragingly

A+; went to bat for me after less than ideal care by hospital staff

Both are excellent; doc is as nurturing as she can afford to be on tight schedule
