Finally met Dr. Safadi on Monday, April 7, 2003. I wanted to hug him! This person will help me change my life forever and for the better. He's very quiet, but was patient and explained every detail about the surgery, drew pictures and answered all my questions. His nurse, Judy is great also. Enjoyed spending time with her and all my questions were answered and I left there feeling content with my decision.rnrnStanford is a great hospital and I'm very glad I opted for Stanford over UCD in Sacramento.rnrn4/20/03: I am so glad that I opted for Stanford, instead of University of California, Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. Dr. Safadi is very kind and patient. He did an excellent job on my lap RNY despite what could have been some big complications and he alleviated my needing an open RNY. He will never know how grateful I am to him to have my life back!rnrnOn a scale of 10, I would rate him a 10+

Dr. Safadi was very warm on our first meeting. He was very informing on all aspects of the surgery. He was proud of the weight I had lost before surgery also.I would rate him a 10.

My first impression was that of a rather serious somewhat reserved man with no sense of humor. I came to discover that he was indeed serious about his vocation but a deeply committed and compassionate man as well. Office staff at the Stanford Bariatric Clinic are superb, esp. Nurse Anna. There is a structured aftercare program with a newly forming support group. Dr. Safadi discussed in detail the risks of surgery and made sure I was comfortable and informed prior to the surgery. I give him excellent ratings as both surgeon and human being. Both his competence and bedside manner were superlative. Of course--- one woman's opinion and experience. I had never had any surgery and had a relatively easy time of it as I had no post-op problems.

Dr Safadi is a wonderful surgeon who took the time to explain everything in detail and made me feel comfortable. He has a great, warm bedside manner and made me feel well cared for in the hospital. I had surgery on January 16,2004 and was released on the 19th, painfree...I can only surmise it was his expertise...I was back to work the next day. In 9 weeks I have lost 57 lbs with no problems.
I have nothing but glowing things to report about my whole experience at Standord. EVERY person I have encountered in this whole journey at Stanford have been warm, supportive and professional.
I would reccomend Dr Safadi to anyone considering bypass surgery, he rates top notch in both competence and bedside manner in my experience.

I met Dr. Safadi on March 12th. He was great, everyone in his office was great, they were very kind and caring. He went over everything with me, and my husband, answered all our questions, and his nurse, later, told me he was impressed with all the paperwork being in order-I took copies of everything with me....all tests were complete, and he gave me the dates needed for surgery. I am so happy! My date is May 14th. I can't wait!

Dr. Safadi is a very patient and understanding surgeon, very interested in the success of his obesity patients. His first step was to totally explain and answer questions regarding the upcoming procedure and what his requirements are to have it. He again and again has stressed the importance of aftercare and a structured aftercare program. He totally explained all the risks of surgery; yet found a way to reassure me that it was normal to expect to experience one of the risks; but he certainly wanted me to know what the possibilities were.

In my opinion, he's top notch.

And for the record, I'm a veteran and didn't have the option of choosing my own surgeon. I feel very, very blessed.

His surgical competence AND bedside manner are the bomb! he's Terrific! And by the way, he has a nurse that helps him - Nina Bellatore, RN - also the bomb! She's awesome.

My surgeon has been changed as of today. I received a call from Trina the Nurse for Dr. Safadi and was given the option to keep Dr. Curet and have my surgery in October or change to Dr. Safadi and have my Surgery in September. My new surgery date is 9/15/03. I am very excited. I haven't met Dr. Safadi either, but will hopefully on 8/6/03 when I meet with Trina to schedule my pre-op testing.

I met with Dr. Safadi yesterday and I must say the he is the man. He has done over a hundred gastric bypass surgeries and has zero fatalities and only 10% touch up to the procedures. With that being said I feel very comfortable with him doing the surgery for me. He is very knowledgeable and confident. He also has a great personality.
Dr. Safadi will be perfoming my surgery on 9/15/03 at 1:00 pm. He also has a wonderful staff.
