    Bernard J. Benedetto, MD, is board certified in general surgery and performs laparoscopic gastric bypass, gastric band and sleeve gastrectomy procedures. He is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and completed his surgical residency at Baystate Medical Center. He completed a fellowship in minimally invasive bariatric surgery at Albany Medical Center in New York. He also has experience performing endoscopic anti-reflux surgery, colon resection, hernia repair and surgical endoscopy.

    I started the program in December 2014 and had surgery early May of this year. So far I've lost 165 lbs and I feel great! D. Benedetto and his staff have been great and I would recommend them to anybody considering weight loss surgery.

    Excellent program. Great surgeon! I had looked into multiple programs on the North Shore and what made me choose NSMC was the support you get from their Heart and Wellness Program before and after surgery. None of the other programs seemed to offer that. Michelle More...
