Brenda Cacucci Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

I should have filled this part out months ago (oopps!) .. When I was 1st trying to have my surgery done, I was referred to Dr. Jones - but due to her small amount of availability, I made the switch to Brenda Cacucci - and I am very glad I did!
As others will state, Brenda may look young, but she knows what she is talking about and will NOT candy-coat anything! :)

The office staff is great - however I do think they could do some changes on the phone system - leaving messages and waiting on a call back has never been a strong point of mine! :)

From the time I had faxed my approval letter to their office, I had a call back that afternoon and the surgery scheduled for Oct 27th. They were quick to also get my Pre-op testing scheduled (Oct 7) and then my dietary class on Oct 21st... Time is going to fly by :)

If I had to rate her before surgery, I'd rate her a 10 :) .. I'll update this once I have had the surgery and let you know how I feel at that time.

My PCP really wanted me to go to Dr. Huse because he is the most experienced in my area...however, he is not very experienced with lap procedures. So, after speaking with some post ops, I decided to go to another one....and I am glad I did! I had my second consult this morning with Dr. Brenda Cacucci. She specializes in lap procedures. Dr. Huse had refused to do me lap because he said I carried too much weight around my mid-section. Dr. Cacucci didn't think it would be a problem. She has done over 400 procedures, and has only opened twice! I really liked her and her demeanor. I feel very confident in my decision to switch surgeons. I strongly recommend that if you are not happy with what one doctor tells you...seek another opinion!

My first impression of Dr. Cacucci was a positive one. Even though they schedule 30 people at one time to meet her, she sits down to explain the procedure to each of us and answered all of our questions.

The office staff is very pleasant and caring. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable.

Dr. Cacucci believes very much in having good extensive aftercare. They want to dedicate yourself to their after program as much as possible.

I rate Dr. Cacucci as a 10, for caring, sensitive and being compassionate.

She seems intelligent, serious and a high acheiver.

I am still impressed that Dr. Cacucci is a highly successful doctor in her field.

The office staff is friendly, if a little hurried. Certainly professional and polished.

Not quite as warm and fuzzy as I would wish.

Dr Cacucci was very nice looking forward having her do my surgery. Her consult was very good she explained the procedure and the after care well. Went through all the risk involved very comfortable with her. On a 1 to 10 scale 10 the highest i would rate her a 10.

Dr. Brenda Cacucci is a very impressive young surgeon. Any surgeon who can perform a Roux-en-y on a man of my size has my vote for any office she intends to run for. She is very professional and covers all of the bases needed medically, but more important to me is her competence and ability as a person. I feel very fortunate to have Brenda Cacucci as my surgeon, and could not possibly offer a higher recommendation. I will be glad to respond to anyone who wishes to discuss her ability and personality in more detail, but if you want anything other than the highest praise, you better contact someone besides me!

Dr. Caccucci was a great surgeon. Very knowledgeable and to the point. I held this opinion of her over the course of my surgery.

Her office staff is very pleasant and helpful. Several of them have had WLS and offered lots of assistance.

I think the only negative thing I could say about Dr. Caccucci is that I felt I didn't see enough of her, both before and after surgery. Her hospital visits lasted less than 10 minutes apiece. Her bedside manner, while pleasant, is very businesslike. Her surgical knowledge is top-notch.

The one thing I would inform future patients about is that Dr. Caccucci looks very young. Don't let that fool you, though, because she really knows what she's doing.

Dr. Caccucci addressed the surgical risks beforehand to me in a concise, matter-of-fact way. She didn't sugar-coat anything, which was what I wanted to hear. I felt I knew all the risks of surgery beforehand.

The aftercare program consists of office visits at the one week, 6 week, and I believe 3 month marks. I also have access to a dietician for the rest of my life--free of charge. I think this is a fabulous thing! There are also support and exercise groups I can join.

Overall, I would rate Dr. Caccucci very highly, and I'd recommend her to anyone who is contemplating WLS.

DR. CACUCCI DID THE SURGERY ON MY WIFE 9 MONTHS AGO. HER SUPPORT AND THE ASSISTANCE OF HER STAFF IN GETTING INSURANCE APPROVAL WAS OUTSTANDING. SHE PREFERS THE LAPRASCOPIC PROCEDURE WHICH IS LESS INVASIVE AND A QUICKER TURNAROUND. I HADS SURGERY ON A WENESDAY AND WENT HOME THURSDAY AFTERNOON. DR. CACUCCI IS A VERY TALENTED, INTELLIGENT AND CARING SURGEON. SHE IS ALSO NO-NONSENSE. SHE HAS LITTLE PATIENCE WITH PEOPLE NOT WILLING TO FOLLOW THE RULES.SHE PROVIDES A COMPLETE PROGRAM BOTH PRE-OP AND POST-OP. SINCE I WAS OVER 50 SHE REQUIRED A COMPLETE PRE-OP HEART EVALUATION. WHEN I HAD COMPLETED THE ENTIRE PRE-OP TESTING I TOO BELIEVED I WAS PHYSICALLY READY FOR THIS SURGERY. IF ANYONE I LOVED NEEDED THIS SURGERY I WOULD DEMAND THEY VISIT DR. CACUCCI AND STRICTLY FOLLOW HER ADVISE. HER SURGICAL COMPETENCE AND BEDSIDE MANNER A TREAMENDOUS. I EVEN JOKED THAT SHE WAS THE HOTTEST SURGEON ON THE FLOOR. GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR!

I met Dr. Cacucci on 6-7-04 for my initial consultation. I liked her very much. She looks very young, but you could tell that she definitely knows what she is talking about. I like the fact that even though she's thin and very attractive you feel very comfortable with her and never feel ashamed to be in the situation you're in. I haven't had my surgery yet, but so far I would highly recommend her. Her staff is very friendly and helpful. Also, the staff Psychologist, Dr. Smith is very nice as well.

Does young equate to inexperienced? Not exactly. She was highly intelligent, of course, and skilled in her field. I did a bit of research regarding Dr. Cacucci well in advance of my surgery date. Impressive, actually.
Yes, I was having second thoughts. Perhaps I was just searching for some small flaw to talk myself right out of it. I really couldn't find any fault with my surgeon!!

The staff at The Bariatric Center are very friendly and helpful. A truly great bunch. They make me feel at ease, and confident I can contact them at any time in seeking answers.

The hospital itself was fantastic. The new Bariatric surgery center is great. Catering to the bariatric patients, the staff is wonderful, friendly, and supportive.
Private rooms. I had no complaints.
