Dr. Cantor is an excellent surgeon with Kaiser Permanente (HMO). He is no-nonsense and to the point but willing to answer any question you may have.

He isn't rude, but he is strict and expects you follow his instructions and his pre and post-op procedures and not what you may have heard or read elsewhere.

Dr. Cantor's Kaiser staff is kind and provides assistance as needed.

If you have Kaiser and need a lot of hand holding, coddling and false smiles, he is not the surgeon for you. I've had my share of questions and suggestions for him and he patiently listened then answered them, straight forward and to the point. At times I felt as if I was being whiny... and Dr. Cantor provided me what I needed, but never placated me. Will he smile and laugh with me, sure. But don't look for a soap opera dr here.

Dr. Brian Cantor was my surgeon for my gastric sleeve on June 07, 2016 at Holy Cross Hospital, MD.
He is a great doctor and he has a great team of nutritionists, nurses that help him. His office is very helpful and always responds to messages and questions in a timely manner. I would highly recommend him as a doctor to anyone that is planning on having bariatric surgery. He works with or is affiliated with Kaiser Insurance. His bedside manner is pleasant. Although, he is strict and expects you as a patient to follow his instructions and follow a specific nutrition/diet before and after surgery.

Dr. Cantor is a top notch bariatric surgeon. He's thorough and very strict with his patience. He is a surgeon with Kaiser Permanente and performs surgeries at Holy Cross Hospital. His partnership with Kaiser and the hospital offers full support for bariatric patients and I believe their holistic approach to assure your mind and body are prepared for surgery and the lifestyle changes is effective.

I had my first meeting with Dr. Cantor today and he's very straight forward. He's just friendly enough for you to understand that this is a doctor/patient relationship and that he's not your buddy, but friendly enough to put you at ease. I look forward to having my sleeve done by Dr. Cantor.

He is absolutely awesome. He is strict, but that's what I needed, someone who was going to tell the truth.

Dr. Cantor is an extremely thorough surgeon. To say he has a type A personality is sort of an understatement. rnrnHe is a stickler for rules and his protocol is pretty stringent... more stringent than most. But with that said, he is very successful in what he does. Let's face it, this isn't something to fool around with and Dr. Cantor's care and attentiveness is exactly what I wanted when trusting my life to a surgeon. Case in point: one of the hospital nurses told me that she was online entering some info into my chart at about 3 AM after my surgery and Dr. C logged on to check on me!rnrnHe is very meticulous when going over the risks and procedures associated with the surgery... to the point that I could probably repeat them word-for-word by the time I got to pre-op. rnrnDr. C is very friendly and has a good bedside manner... and he always treats me with respect and dignity. But he doesn't take excuses and he pushes his patients to work hard with the tool he gives you. (You'd better not be in bed when he comes around to do his hospital rounds!) But even as strict as he is with the rules, he is also very kind and realistic. He doesn't expect more than his patients can do and applauds good efforts. He genuinely cares for his patients.rnrnI am very, very happy with my choice and I'm delighted to say my surgery and recovery were about as complication-free as possible. I was even in FAR less pain that I expected. I had Lap RNY and my scars are teeny. I can't possibly thank him enough... I know in my heart, he saved my life.rnrnIf you want specific details about anything I've said... please don't hesitate to contact me! And if you're a patient of Dr. Cantor's... tell him I say HI!rn

I am now 7 years post op and still keeping all my weight off. I had the best surgeon in the world. I can't thank Dr. Brian Cantor enough for giving me the tools to live my life again. Since my surgery I've happily inspired many of my co-workers and friends to take better care of their health no matter what that means for them, regardless if surgery is right for them or not. The work begins after surgery and for the rest of your lives. I'm thrilled to say I've maintained a healthy weight for these past 7 years and I owe such a huge debt of gratitude to the gift Dr. Cantor gave me and that's having my life back. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and my size 8 jeans!
