I was really impressed with Dr. Richards. She answered all my questions, and I found her and her staff to be incredibly helpful.rnrnI definately knew all the pros/cons of my surgery as well as potential risks of the surgery. However, I felt very confident in Dr. Richards abilities and knew I would be in excellent hands. My surgery went really well with no complications.rnrnI have had follow-up calls and emails from her staff, which I really appreciate. It's nice to know that Dr Richards and her staff are there whenever I may need them.rnrnThere is a support group that meets every month and I am looking forward to attending those meetings.rnrnDr. Richards is an excellent surgeon, and has a pleasant bedside manner. I would definately recommend her to anyone who is thinking about lap-band surgery.

My first impression was that she was very knowledgable and easy to talk to. I have continued to like her. Her staff is very helpful and friendly. I didn't dislike anything about her.She really cares about her patients. They do have a structured aftercare program. She was very upfront with all of the risks. I would rate her overall excellent. Both are great but I will take surgical competence over bedside manner any day.

My comments about Dr. Richards are twofold, after I was approved by my insurance I had gained some weight while on a cruise. Dr. Richards could have just taken the money, but she re-scheduled my surgery and made me lose that weight, showing she was not in it for the money.rnMy second comment is after having some complications after surgery, she was genuinely concerned about my well being, she took the time to explain everything to me in detail. She shows true compassion and how many Doctors would take the time and call you at home to make sure everything is alright, none that I’ve had before her.rnDr. Richards is the best.rnBret Stitzerrn

I am a little biased since I work with Dr. Richards, but even if I didn't, I think she's awesome! She is not in this for the money unlike some other surgeons. She will tell you how it is straight up and I appreicate her honesty. She is truly willing to help her patients to succeed and she cares about each one of them!rn

Dr. Richards was great. Almost a year after being denied by my insurance i decided to self pay. I expressed concern over not having control of my eating habits but that i would go ahead with the surgery. She said she wouldn't do it until i met with a specialist and figured that out. For a self pay, which is money in the bank, she turned me down.lol. That told me she cared more about my long term success than her immediate monetary gain. The surgery was perfect in every way. No complications and the wounds will heal perfectly and probably won't even see them in a year. One concern though to be honest. Some of the information/communication shared by Dr. Richards and the support cordinators gets mixed signals. It's like two seperate entities with differing view pts on some issues. By the way, the support group cordinators of Jolene, Amber and Andrea are awesome. They really care and do everything to make you succeed. After almost 8 months of not seeing them i walked in and they called me by my first name. Impressive.

Dr. Richards was really great! She spent so much time with me in educating me about the risks of the surgery. She didn't try to push me as to what type of surgery to have. She has a real "program" where patient education is given priority and followup care and support are there. She has a great bedside manner. She treats you like a human being!

Dr. Richards is wonderful. She was very personable but very serious when she discussed the procedure and the seriousness of life style changes to make this type of surgery successful. My impression of Dr. Richards has just gotten better over time. She cares about her patients and takes a personal interest in thier success. Dr. Richards support staff are wonderful!! I can't say enough about them. They are always there for encouragement and support. Dr. Richards works with the Surgical Weight Loss Center of Utah. They have a very structured program that takes you from day one all the way through your journey. Their monthly support groups are excellent. You meet with Dr. Richards and a Psychiatrist during these support groups and learn from them and others that have had the procedure done. I have learned alot from these meetings about myself and why I have the habits I do. I know no one can be "the best" in all areas, but I can truly say that I really have nothing negative to say about Dr. Richards or my expierence.

She was and is a wonderful Dr!!! very easy to talk to and went over all good and bad!!
