Dr. Salvino was very competent and instilled a lot of confidence that he knew his job. Some of his staff however was a little average. The team approach to Wls is very effective and ensures success.

Dr. Salvino seemed very nice when I first met him. He was willing to answer all of my questions. He gave very serious expectations that were to be me before the surgery would be allowed. At first, I was only about 70% sure that I would do this. The diet and exercise plan seemed impossible. I have been sticking to the exercise...the diet...about 75% of the time. I called the office to let them know I wanted to do this. I have a follow-up visit scheduled in August, and my surgery in September.

Carol Bax has been very helpful, she remembered me after only one visit. She has reassured about insurance (I am still waiting).

The aftercare program is very structured. There is a well-defined diet to follow and exercise, exercise, EXERCISE!

I first went to Dr. Salvino's seminar and found it very
informative. I had done alot of research on the computer
already and he was very knowledgable. When I first met him
for my first consultation I found him to be kind and
very detailed on how he explained things. I thought he
was very personable and pleasant.

I met with Dr. Salvino in March of this year (01). Myself and my girlfriend are going to have this surgery "together" if we can or a month or so apart. But we WILL be doing this together. She has been approved and I'm in limbo waiting for my approval from Cigna PPO and our 1st appeal. I think Dr. Salvino and staff are very competent and I did research him out and am happy with my decision as of so far. I will see him again on May 3rd for my 2nd consultation and hopefully have my surgery date on May 16th. I am a revision patient, meaning I have had VBG in 1993 that the stapleline disrupted and I gained my weight back after about 3 years *sigh*. I'm truly hoping and praying to God that this surgery will help me get to where I NEED to be, healthy, happy, and fit for life! I'll post more when I know more. God Bless all of us going through this surgery, it's a life change that we all know will be difficult, but the road to success wasn't paved with roses..... only at the end of our journey, through the struggles and hardships and triumphs will we succeed and conquer all. =:-)

I felt calm the second Dr. Salvino walked in the room. His ways are very gentle. He is a kind understanding man that has a great sense of humor. I loved how comfortable he made me feel and the way he gave me hope that he can help me change my life. My impression of him as only gotten better. He is very detailed in his entire process of screening patients for this type of surgery. The staff at his office are wonderful, intelligent and very well trainded and informed individuals. Each one has so much information for the patient it helped me understand the entire process. The whole program stresses good health, good eating and exercise. This programs in very organized and there is really little room for improvement in my opinion. I am a health care worker myself and I just felt that the staff was above the standard in patient education. They answered each and every question so very carefully. Handouts were supplied so I could refer back if I had any questions. 24 Hour access to the staff is available and that is most comforting especially after the surgery. Dr. Salvion addressed all the risks and the up side to each facet of this surgery. I rate Dr. Salvino a 10 in my book and his staff a 10 also. There is even an organized support group that meets under the guidence of the staff from the office, and it is the most wonderful group of people I have ever met. The topics are all wonderful, the speakers are all motivational and helpful. My total experience has been one of the single most greatest things I have ever done for myself, besides having my children. This surgery now will give me back my life so I might do all the things that I have not been able to do for years.

Doctor Salvino and his staff are just wonderful. Very supportive and Friendly, they listened to my problems and concerns, and gave me real answers in terms that I could understand. I went to several doctors before I chose to go with Dr. Salvino, and I'm glad that I made the choice that I did.

If you're interested in going with Dr. Salvino of the ASOI, here are links to some professional articles about him that can be found on the web. </p>

I first attended the seminar put on by Dr. Salvino and his staff. They were all very helpful and easy to talk to. I made a first appt. for February 14th and was there about 4 hours. I met with the exercise person, Pat, psychologist - Dr. Liz, nutritionist - Laura, and Carol Bax, RN, who is just wonderful. Actually everyone was very nice and helpful. I talked to the surgeon last and he let me know everything I would be in for. I left there with all my questions answered. I had to come back in 4 weeks with an exercise plan, all my pills changed to liquid, bloodwork done, EKG - the whole thing. I had to learn to exercise since I haven't been.

On 3/16, I went back for another 3 hour visit - met with everyone again and had my date set for surgery. I feel that I am in good hands and also they stress getting yourself ready physcially for the surgery - which is hard to do when you are not use to it!

There was nothing negative about either visit. I had thought - oh I will walk in there and have the surgery in a few weeks. WRONG! The have some very structured preop activities to make your heart healthy and your frame of mind ready for this.

My first impression of Dr Salvino was great. I attended his seminar tonight, and found him to be patient, informative, and HUMAN! I like that in a doc. His program seems well structured and provides extensive PRE-OP goals. His aftercare appears to be just as well structured and geared towards success. Long story short... my initial consultation with Dr Salvino is in 2 weeks. I don't anticipate any snags, and if he accepts me as a patient, I will be extremely happy to have him do my surgery.

I met with Dr Rosen, Dr Salvino's partner during my consultation, and found him to be pleasant and knowledgeable. They attend all WLS surgeries together. All of my questions were answered by their team and by Dr Rosen. I believe I'm in good hands and I am so looking forward to April 2nd. My only concern now is that my Lap doesn't turn into an Open. :-)

I first met Dr.Salvino at the monthly seminar that Good Samaritan hospital has. The information was a ton. I'm glad my husband was ther with me to "aborb" some of it for me. Dr. and his staff are great. Atmy 1st visit it took 4 hours and they stress dietary changes and exercise program before and after surgery. On my second 3-4 hour visit, 4 weeks later They checked to see that I was doing all that I said I would do, as far as eating, execise, vitamins , switching to decaf, no pop. And I had lost 5 pounds, not much, but any little bit helps the heart in surgery. I think that his bed side manner will be good, I know the other doctors will probebly be in to check up also. I am sceduled for laproscopic on April 9th. I post bad later with any more feedback. So So far I give them am A..
