Dr. Schlosser is an excellent surgeon. I was pleased with her skills and her bedside manner was OK. I have heard she is very to the point. I would say very honest. She is supportive, but does acknowledge that WLS is not a cure-all, that it does take commitment and work on the part of the patient to be successful, even with the surgery. The practice Dr. Schlosser is with has an excellent before and aftercare program. Their goal is for their patients to be successful, and they will go the extra mile to see you succeed if you let them know you are struggling or call them with questions. I was very impressed to learn that they want to see you at regular intervals, even many years out. They also made it clear that if for some reason you are uninsured or under-insured and not able to pay for the visit, they still want you to come in. rnrnMy only complaint was the day of my discharge, we ended up waiting all afternoon, because she was speaking at a conference. The complaint was really not the 5:30pm appearance, but the fact that she told us she would see us \"after lunch,\" and no one knew where she was or why she was so late. We finally got the news at 4:30 that she was on her way.rnrnOne other note: I only saw her 4 times total. One pre-op consult. Before surgery, the morning of, the next morning for about 10 minutes, then at discharge. The 3 week follow-up was done completely by her nurse, Heidi, who was excellent.rnrnI believe surgical competence is most important. Dr. Schlosser definitely has competence. Her bedside manner is also good, though she doesn't waste any time on chit chat.rnrnA nice bonus of Dr. Schlosser is she does reinforce the stmas (the opening between the stmach and the small intestine) to prevent the possibility of future stretching, but rather than taking tissue from you thigh, she uses processed cadaver tissue, and has been very successful with it. I have the extra security of the reinforcement without the pain of the leg incision! Hurray!!!!

Dr. Crystal Schlosser is a petite little thing but don't let that fool you!rnShe is very direct, straight to the point and will answer all of your questions- she lets you know about very possible complication. She did an excellent job on my surgery, I had no complications at all. I do not have dumping syndrome and have never vomitted! rnThe only issue I had was that I did not see my surgeon at three months, we only see the nurse and nutritionist. At six months she was on a leave- the other doctors in the office didn't accomadate her patients very well so my long standing appointment was rescheduled twice. I am glad that I did not have anything go wrong during that time!! rnThe post op nurse commented on the quality of her stitches- Dr. Schlosser sews as a hobby and apparently she is the best. rnNine months post op I have to really look for the scars to find them! rnThe aftercare program was good, I had surgery at St. Joes in St. Paul not at her Minneapolis location- I think that is why the docotors were very willing to step in for her patients while she was on leave.

I've only met my surgeon once so far. She is a very little, petite woman and at first I thought \"what could she know about weight loss?\" I soon found out that she knows ALOT!!! So my first impression of her was good. During our meeting, she was very, very thorough in explaining the procedure, the risks, etc. She seems to be very up-front. She told me not to expect more than 70% weight loss. At first I was a bit bummed out when she told me that because I really feel I can lose more than 70%. I think it's important to her for her patients to think realistically. So far I rate her very highly. I will post more after my surgery.

My first impression of Dr. Schlosser was that she was very straight forward and to the point - she tell you what she thinks, straight out, no double talk with her.rnMy impression has not changed over time.rnHer staff is helpful, but busy, I have not always been sure about who to talk to about what. As soon as I voiced my confusion it was addressed, it just took awhile a couple of timesrnThere is nothing that I haven't liked about Crystal. She is obviously a busy woman and sometimes her demeanor reflects that, but she has always made the time for me when I needed it.rnShe is VERY serious about aftercare, if you are not up to participating in a very strong aftercare regime than she is not the surgeon for you.rnShe has always done a wonderful job of explaining the benefits, risks and potential problems of all of the surgery type in a clear and concise manner.rnI have not had surgery yet - but based on my experience up to this point I would rate Dr. Schlosser a 9 out of 10.

Dr. Schlosser is very professional, extremely educated and thorough and wanted me to be as well. She has a great sense of humor and does a fantastic job. I highly recommend Dr. Schlosser

She may seem "down to business" because she wants you to know ALL your options. I appreciated this. My first impression was that she was very serious and thorough yet kind and sensitive. That impression has stayed and I've also seen that she has a sense of humor which is always nice.

She's tiny as a peanut but I never felt that she discriminated against me because of my size. Again, I highly recommend Dr. Schlosser!

Dr Crystal Schlosser was fantastic! Honest and to the point, she never tried to "sell" me on surgery but instead informed me about the DS. She was understanding and very professional. God truly gave her talented hands!!!

Dr. Crystal Schlosser is very compassionet. She is very understanding and throughly knowlegeable in WLS. Everyone in the office is fun and upbeat and most have had the surgery themselves and can help with any questions. Don't be intimidated by Dr. Schlosser's size (she is very tiny), she knows what she is talking about. The entire staff and drs. help with every step of the way from pre-op and post-op. She goes over all areas of every WLS process and the pros and cons. She will tell you which surgery is best for you. She has great bed side manor and if you have any questions or problems she will call you personally where ever you are to help you.

She was as serious about obesity and it's ramifications as I have ever had a doctor be. The fact that she also treated me with dignity and grace only endeared me to her. She is straight forward and expects you to do your part in this WLS + surgeon + YOU solution.

She had me work several months with a dietician and attending support group, trying to retrain my 1982 RNY before consenting to a revision.

Whe she did my surgery, she also found and repaired an unknown hernia and biopsied some enlarged lymph nodes.

My impression of her has not changed, and her office staff is also respectful and prompt in answering questions and phone calls. The nurses, Judy and Heidi, are truly there for you and the insuramce worker, Suzy, filled out and returned forms often within 48 hours.

Dr. Schlosser does not usually use the reinforcing band of fascia in her patients, but did with me. I believe she truly evaluates each individual person and situation.

Support group and follow up care is paramount and I Know that I will be a part of this team, DR, Renewal and pouch for the rest of my life.

Her competence is equal between surgical skill, and bedside manner. My husband also met her several times, before and after surgery, and felt very confident with her care.
