What can I say about Dr. Tran except he is the most caring and skilled surgeon I have ever dealt with. He not only makes you completely comfortable before the surgery but after he is just great.

If anybody decides to get any bariatric surgery Dr. Tran is one of the best and Laurie Jordan the nutritionist is also great and very caring.

I thought Dr. Tran and his staff were terrific. While recovering I had to call and discuss a problem I was having. He called me right back.
He works through Bridgeport Hospitals Weight Management Center. They do have an aftercare program that they strongly suggest you follow through with. They have monthly support group meetings
Everything regarding what to expect was described in detail.
I'm very shy and not the most talkative person and he just started answering questions that he thought I may have...which was helpful.
What was most comforting, was that he prayed with me prior to surgery. I just thought that was special.

He is great! He is very kind and a good listener. His staff is great, speacially Laurie- she is the BEST. Doctor Tran not only emphasizes aftercare but he is also very concern about you preop. You have to start on a diet before surgery, what I think is great. He spends a lot of time with you and he covers every aspect of the surgery. It really prepares you to be successful. He is very honest about the procedure and he tells you straight forward about the complications and risks involved with the surgery.

My first impression of Dr. Tran was that he was very young but knowledgeable about everything I asked him. He was very nice, he listened to everything I had to say and gave me the time I needed to feel comfortable with him. His staff is very helpful but it is totally insane that I have to wait more than a month to see the psychiatrist he referred me to. It is just frustrating. I guess I dealt with the same weight problem all my life waiting another month will not kill me. Dr. Tran emphasizes aftercare a lot. They are the major support system for the weight loss. He emphasized the risk of surgery and he even mentioned that there could be death because of complications. Dr. Tran is an A+ doctor. I will post again after I have my surgery.
Ps: I forgot to mention, for the first time in a long time I sat on a chair and had no problem getting up. The chairs are super sized, or better, they are the right size.

MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF HIM WAS THAT HE IS TO YOUNG TO KNOW WHAT HE IS DOING.
OVER TIME, I REALIZE THAT HE IS A VERY CARING INDIVIDUAL WHO REALLY IS INTO HIS PATIENTS. WAS VERY INFORMATIVE .
THE STAFF IS VERY VERY PROFESSIONAL, GREAT!
ESPECIALLY THE NUTRITIONIST LAURIE JORDAN.
NOTHING!

TALK TO HIM AND HE LISTENS!

I thought he was down to earth. He talked in plain lanuage so I could understand what he was saying. He did not rush me thru my first appointment or acutually anytime I have spoken with with.

I am so glad that my primary care physician referred me to Dr. Tran and the Weight Management Team at Bridgeport Hospital in December 2003. Its a pleasure to be one of his patients.

Dr. Tran is a competent, skilled and capable surgeon with excellent bed side manner. I felt very comfortable with him from day one. I never doubted his abilities as a surgeon at all. Trust me, he knows his stuff regarding Bariatric Surgery.

In fact, the whole Weight Management Team from Bridgeport Hospital (Laurie Jordan, Dr. Morgan, Dr. Scherzer, and the sleep center staff were all kind and considerate while I was preparing for the WLS (Weight Loss surgery).

While I was pre-op I participated in the monthly support group. Now I'm post-op and I will continue this participation. This way, I continually learn and grow regarding health care for my survival.

My journey truly begins now....
