9/14/05 Very balanced in personal conversation and planned presentation. Great attitude toward both surgeries offered! Staff were friendly and offered their support--and both counsellor and nurse were WLS successes. Barix itself has been a great program to deal with and from my interview with them in Arizona, and now Ohio--and excellent national organization. I would recommend them in either location quite highly.
During initial consultation , he seemed very knowledgeable and forthcoming with information. Office staff were pleasant but patient counselor was in a hurry so I felt rushed and was unable to ask questions. He does have a structured aftercare program and did emphasize the importance thereof. He did fully explain both procedures the lap band and rny. He did address the risks of surgery and the need for adherence to what needed to be done to ensure success after surgery.Overall I would give him a thumbs up and numerically a 9 out of 10, 10 being the best and 1 the worst.Have yet to schedule surgery due to having to have medical clearances.
I love Dr. David Barbrara
He was the best all around I love his bed side manner and also he has alot of knowledge he was wonderful. If I had to do this all over again I would still choose him he has been supportive of me and he is just an awesome doctor. I would refer him to everyone.
I thought Dr. Barbara was full of information. I was in the initial consultation for at least and hour talking to him. The office staff was very helpful in answering all my questions. After surgery he is still very attentive to my concerns and wants. I would refer him to anybody that asks about Bariatic surgery. I thought his bedside manner and surgical compentence was both great!
Dr. David Barbara is wonderful. He explains everything, takes his time with you, answers any questions you have, and he is so confident. The office staff is wonderful and easy to get ahold of and answer any and all questions you may have. The hospital, Dr. Barbara and the staff I rate as a 10 and would recommend them to anyone. Check them out. The place and people are the best!
Dr. Barbara was very nice during my consult. He answered all my questions and made sure I understood that WLS is not a miracle cure--it's a tool.
Right now, I'm appealing my insurance company's decision to deny my surgery. I am asking Dr. Barbara's office to contact my insurer and re-state the medical necessity of this surgery.
I met with Dr. Barbara in July 2004. I was so shocked during the initial consultation that he actually took the time to answer every question. He even included my husband and my best friend. They were able to have all there questions asnwered as well. The consultation was for over an hour. He even used pictures, and drew diagrams on a dry erase board to make sure everything was completely understood. I have full confidence in my surgeon. The insurance I had at the time did not cover him. I chose to wait until after Januar0y 2005, to change my insurance to be able to have him perform my Open RNY. I wil be having surgery 03/2005. The only bad thing I have to say about the experiance so far, is Ruth his assistant is slow with returning calls. But I imagine she is a very busy person.
At first I thought that his answers to my questions were too pat. After reflecting, and speaking to him by phone I revised my opinion. He is professional, caring and competent. I especially like his assisant, Ruth.
Everyon I have dealt with at Barix has been great. Aftercare seems to be the key to success.
