Dr. Johnson has been very supportive of my surgery efforts and his staff is truly wonderful. Judy has stayed in contact with me every step of the way, which was an unexpected bonus. Dr. Johnson's bedside mannor is very professional. I had hoped to gain a bit more \"comfort\" with him before the surgery, but there wasn't enough time. The last time I was there I had to wait nearly an hour after my appointment time to see him, which was frustrating because I had planned to go back to work. Then he spent very little time with me. But perhaps I was expecting too much. Who knows? Maybe great Dr./Patient relationships are only real on Discovery channel surgeries...laughs. I changed my mind about Dr. Johnson's bedside manner. He is just very mild mannered and sort of quiet. He held my hand though, when he told me about the liver disease. He was so kind and caring. I think he is the best!! I am so happy to have him on the WLS dream team!

I thought he was a very sensitive and knowledgable man..It grew stronger. At the time his office staff was so supportive; however, employees came and went..somehow got lost in the crowd of past patients. Mesa Banners Program was new, I was #6 in surgery, so I know that alot of the initials \"Kinks\" of the program have been worked and anyone would be lucky to participate in their program. Overall rating would be high. Regarding in surgery, but truly gastric bypass both surgical competence and bedside manner matter greatly
When I first met Dr. Johnson, I thought he was very shy. I attended his seminar, but had previously attended another surgeon's (who was very outgoing) seminar , so I guess I was comparing the two. However, I was assured by a volunteer at the seminar that Dr. Johnson was a wonderful surgeon and she would trust him with her life. (She had been in the operating room with him to observe a procedure). That is all I needed to hear! I am so glad that I listened!
The staff at Banner Mesa Bariatrics is wonderful! Sandra was such a huge help with the whole process - I just don't know what I would have done without her! The aftercare is great! The program and aftercare is very structured. I was provided with a notebook that explained the program totally, and was told to call at anytime should I have questions. I was given all the information about surgery risks and benefits, as well as the aftercare program before my surgery. Dr. Johnson has been a surgeon for 18+ years and although he is fairly new with bariatric surgery, I felt extrememly confident and comfortable with him and his abilities. He is a skilled surgeon and a wonderful person.
