David Newman Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

My first impression of Dr. Newman was very favorable. It seemed that anytime his name was mentioned, people talked about how wonderful he was. This was from patients, nurses, pharmicists and other doctors. He made me feel very comfortable about what I was doing and always answered all of my questions. His staff was also warm and re-assuring. There was nothing to dislike about Dr. Newman. He expects you to follow his directions to the letter and he does have an aftercare program. I attended counseling both at his office and at a psychiatrist's office where the risks of surgery were addressed and I was not allowed to schedule surgery until I was healthy. I would rate Dr. Newman at A plus. Although both surgical competence and bedside manner are important, it just makes sense to prefer the surgeon who will perform most excellently.

i don't have a lot of words here, but i think dr. newman was very nice and he answered any questions that i had. carol, the bariatric liason is wonderful and really puts it all together. i normally rate on a declining scale, meaning everything's a 10 until i have a reason to deduct points and i don't here, so i give them a 10.

Dr. Newman is one of the kindest surgeons that I have ever met. He has excellent bedside manner (came to see me everyday) and when I expressed my concerns about the hospital staff he really cared about what I had to say! I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a surgeon in Greensboro N.C.

So far so good. I have been to 2 appointment and no complaints with him or his staff. Hope this does not change.

My first visit with Dr. Newman went well and I feel that he knows what he is doing and I know he will take good care of me.rnrnI had a mild complication requiring me to postpone my surgery. I came down with bronchitis and Dr Newman felt that I should wait and clear it up so that I would not be at a higher risk for infection or pneumonia. As much as I hated it he was right. On the morning when I was due to have my surgery I still was not ready. I had been on a very strong antibiotic for about 5 days but I still had the cough. I like that he wasn't willing to put me at risk for his surgeon's fee.

Dr. Newman was very friendly. He has a great bedside manner. He really seems to care about his patients well being. He doesn't care about just making money. The office was very up to date. I did have to wait a little while to see him, but that just tells me that he is busy, which in turn says that he must have been referred to others. He went over all the pros/cons with the RNY. He was very informative and really seemed to want to help me. I would refer him to anyone.

My surgeon has the best bedside manner and after the surgery I thought he didnt do the surgery cause I had virtually no pain. David is wonderful. There are meetings for the aftercare, but it involves mostly new patients and very little postop patients. My only complaint is the separate dietician program that I wish was in his office and not somewhere else.

'Dr.Newman is a nice sweet person. He seems to really care about people and their health. He has done alot of the Lapband surgeries. I trust him. His nurses are very nice and friendly. BUT His office staff (insurance person)is alright

I have known Dr Newman for over ten years. He is a kind compassionate MD. I have had the pleasure of working with him when I was nursing supervisor.Central Carolina Surgery offers a comprehensive surgical program and includes a nurse dedicated to the Bariatric surgery program.
The staff are all competent and friendly.
He is very firm that after surgery care is essential.
I would rate the overall program very high.
Surgical competence is always the better choice. But with Dr. newman you have both. Great bedside manner and compentence!

I liked Dr.Newman. Dr.Newman was very nice and easy to talk to he asked if I had any questions and I said just about fifty or so, he laughed and I pulled out the list and he laughed again! This is new in there practice, there all gastro doctors but this is the first time they have done the bypass.I'm a little nervous about that, but after talking to Dr. Newman I feel much better, he really does seem to know what he's talking about.Dr.Newmans group has got one of the most valuable employee ever! Her name is theresa Ramaley and she is their nurse who is overseeing the whole wls process.She has been more than just a nurse, she is a friend! She came to see me several times a day,EVERYDAY! So did Dr.Newman. I can say that they truely care and want everyone to succeed!

I just went to the emergency room, I had some severe pain in my side. I told them that I just had the wls and they paged Dr.Newman. Dr.Newman AND Theresa came right away! It was about 9pm, not normal working hours! It turned out to be nothing but they were there for me! WOW!
