I absolutely adore Dr. Hall! He is such a sweet Dr. and he tells it exactly as it is and it isn't pretty. He has such a warm and funny personality. I feel very confident in his abilities to perform my surgery. My fear lies in complications, not him by any means. There is nothing I didn't like about him. I will be one of the very last patients he performs surgery on here in Lubbock before moving to Dallas. I will post more after surgery on his bedside manner, but I feel given his personality, he will be a very attentive Dr.
Dr. Hall was an excellent surgeon! He was very caring and compassionate. I have had no complications at all and feel it is all due to how thorough Dr. Hall is during surgery and afterwards. My friend Cathy and I were taken care of very well by him, even though it was a very busy time for him. We were his last 2 patients in Lubbock before his move to Wylie. I think he is wonderful and if anyone would like to know more please contact me, I am here!

Dr. Hall was very nice and quiet, I just thought he took a lot of time to explain everything to us. My friend and co-worker went together for our seminar and consult. He took a great deal of time with us I had never seen a dr. spend so much time with me, usually they are in and out I just wondered if he was really a Dr. but when my friend asked him how he new something he said, cause I'm a dr. so then I new he was. He was very witty and caring. I left the consult feeling very good about the visit and all my questions seemed to be answered. Cant wait to get approval from the insurance company.

Dr. Hall was outstanding. I appreciated his lengthy discussions of the types of surgeries available and the amount of weight I could expect to lose with each. He conducts a monthly Saturday support group during his off time at no cost to patients. However, he has recently moved to Houston. I have personally had problems with an inability to eat the past six months and suddenly have started to lose weight again after maintaining my weight for two years.

i first impression was that he was very handsome. I was very impressed with him and his staff.i loved everyone on his staff, i even had the chance to eat dinner with his daughter and staff.there is nothing that i did not like about any of them.one lady that works here at the post office recommended me to dr. hall, then i passed the word to my friend aunt which she flew to lubbock tx for the surgery and was very happy, she left here as a diabetic and came back without being a diabetic. The staff helped me dress and also did my hair. Dr. Hall is the GREATEST ,very good bedside manners i love him

Dr. Hall is now associated with the Barix Clinics at the clinic in Wylie, Texas. I first met him at his own clinic in Lubbock only to be told he was moving to Wylie. I was very impressed with his humor and wit, and mostly his reputation and surgical record.
At my consultation in Wylie, he confirmes his wit and humor.
The Office staff was also very nice to both my mother and me.
The Barix Clinics stress follow-up, and have their own program.
Dr Hall listed all the risks of surgery including immediate, and long term. It was part of his initial orientation program.
From what I know of Dr Hall, I like him a lot.
I think it would be great to have a great surgeon, with a charming bedside manner, but after all, competence is really far more important.

*** UPDATE DR HALL IS MOVING TO DALLAS TO CONTINUE PRACTICE WITH A NETWORK OF DOCTORS AS OF SEPT 1, 2004. HE IS NO LONGER IN LUBBOCK. I HAVE SWITCHED TO DR. WARNOCK FOR MY POST OPERATIVE CARE***
Dr. Hall was a great Dr. but since he has moved to Dallas...he will be with a network that does not accept BCBS FEP. So I have changed my post operative care to Dr. Warnock. I have heard so many wonderful things about him.

What was your first impression of him/her?
Dr. Hall was very straight forward and informative. He covered all the possible procedures and told us the ups and downs of each one. He covered all the risks of having the surgery and the additional risks for each different procedure. At the time I had my surgery he did not do the laparoscopic procedure. He also clearly emphasized that this is not a permanent solution, it can be cheated and the weight can come back if you do not follow the guidelines.
How did your impression change over time?
It improved. His bedside manner and surgical competence were outstanding. He was always concerned with my welfare and my family was kept informed at all times.
How would you describe his/her office staff?
his staff was awesome. They took care of everything with the insurance company and my employer. They visited me daily while I was in the hospital speaking to us about the procedure and aftercare and encouraging us.
What did you like least about him/her?
nothing
What should future patients know about him/her?
Dr. Hall is very down to earth.
How much does he/she emphasize aftercare?
Dr. Hall and his staff put a great deal of emphasis on the aftercare. They have a cookbook to help you through the various stages of the first year.
Does he/she have a structured aftercare program? They used to have a group meeting in Lubbock once per month for post op patients. They also had an on-call person in case you had questions once you get home. I haven't used either as I am 5 hours away from his office
How would you rate him/her overall?
Which is better, surgical competence, bedside manner, or both great?
