Donovan Teel II Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

I would highly recommend Dr. Donovan Teel. He is top notch. He is very kind and his staff is also very kind. Top notch all the way! If anyone is afraid, I want you to know, SO WAS I. I actually cancelled once and then finally rescheduled for 2 months later. I had absolutely NO problems and everything went smoothly. Although everything happens for a reason and the postponement had to have happened for a reason, I wish I had gone through with it the first time! I followed the plan by losing 11 pounds in the 2 1/2 weeks before surgery and I did great! If I had to do this again, I would absolutely do it and I would absolutely use Dr. Teel.

He is a great doctor. He does what he says, and has a good bedside manner. I am glad that I was referred to him.

I have been blessed to find Dr. Teel. He is up front, frank, and honest about the surgery, the risks, post-op, etc. I am glad that I chose Dr. Teel and would recommend him to anyone researching and making this decision.

Dr. Teel is a personable, thorough, safety conscious, efficient surgeon. I first met Dr. Teel when I had an eroded gastric band that was implanted by another bariatric surgeon from Cincinnati, Oh. The gastric band had eroded completely into my stomach only 4 months after having it implanted. I made the decision then that the doctor in Cincinnati would never touch me again. My primary care physician referred me to Dr. Teel and his staff worked me in immediately for a consultation to have the gastric band removed and a revision surgery. The day following my initial meeting with Dr. Teel, he did an EGD and immediately scheduled surgery for me to have the gastric band removed and to repair my stomach within 3 days. Although I had hoped I could have a revision to a gastric sleeve during the surgery, Dr. Teel informed me of all of the risks associated with doing an immediate revision and recommended that I have a revision surgery at a later date. After what I had experienced with the band, I took his advice and opted to schedule a revision surgery later. In October 2010 I had the band removed and repair done to my stomach. I returned to Dr. Teel in July 2012 to pursue gastric sleeve revision surgery. I had my surgery on September 4th and am now 6 days post-op and feeling great. I personally believe Dr. Teel is the best bariatric surgeon around! He has a wonderful bedside manner, does not talk down to his patients and always has the patient's best interest as his primary concern. I cannot thank Dr. Teel enough for what he as done for me. He has given me a tool to assist me in pursing a healthy lifestyle.

The staff and Dr. Teel are all excellent! So friendly and eager to help. Dr. Teel said mine was one of the hardest laproscopic surgeries he has done due to my weight being so high, but he and his assistants did an excellent job. I had to travel over 3 hours to see him but I am happy I chose them as I am very impressed with Dr. Teel, his staff and Miami Valley Hospital in general. Any negative comments I would have are very slight and more likely due to my own passive/emotional personality than anyone else.

I had a wonderful surgeon, a wonder hospital and all went great. Dr. Teal had an emergency surgery first thing the morning of my sugery and it threw off the schedule. He came and discussed with me my options, go home & reschedule or stay and do it after all the other surgeries. He stated he would stay & miss a Christmas party if I wanted. So I went into surgery at 0630pm, got to my room around 1130. Everyone was great, Dr Teal was wonderful, supportive, educational... the best.

Dr. Teel is an extremely knowledgeable surgeon. He really cares about his patients, and is willing to listen to any and all questions about what happens before, during, and after surgery. I've never had to be in the hospital for anything before and Dr. Teel put my mind at ease immediately.
I really like their follow up care so far. It's rare that you find a whole office that is willing to help you no matter how small the problem may be.
I would recommend Dr. Teel and the staff at Premier Bariatrics to anyone who is looking into surgery.

Dr. Teel was my lap DS surgeon and has also done the lap DS on my best friend. I HIGHLY recommend him!!!! The staff at Miami Valley Hospital were wonderful and caring as well!

Dr Teel is awesome He is very clear in all of his explanations of the procedures that he will be doing He answered all my questions The office staff is always helpful and knowledgeable and courteous .The hospital staff knew exactly what Dr Teel expected for his patients and did according to the drs orders Dr Teel is very good with all the info needed for aftercare. What to expect, what to look for . I feel that I was given all the information I need to be successful in this weight loss journey Dr Teel also did my Husbands surgery in 2007 and He did great and had no complications at all. My surgery went smoothly and I had almost no pain went home two days after and have done great . Dr Teels manner is always pofessional and he makes you feel that he cares about you as a person. As I said Doc is Awesome !!!!

Dr. Teel is knowledgable and straightforward. He answered my questions without every making me feel silly or as if there was anything post-op that I wouldn't expect.
