I had RNY Gastric Bypass Surgery 11-15-2011 with Dr. Chute. He was very serious and very professional the whole time before and after surgery. He is a wonderful surgeon. When I was going into "pre op" the nurses had bandages by my legs to be wrapped up for blood clot prevention during surgery. The nurse said he will not be the one to wrap my legs, as Dr. Chute is very particular and likes to do it himself as then he knows it was done right. That was a huge sigh of relief, I knew I was in good hands after that! Dr. Chute wrapped my legs himself and was very particular in the way I was treated before surgery, it was Fabulous! I highly recommend him!

I picked Dr. Chute to do my surgery because he was the one who spoke at my informational seminare. He had a very calm and relaxed demeanor that made me calm. All of his office staff were wonderful, always ready to answer questions and or concerns that I had. He has a very strict aftercare program, according to him and his nurses he keeps his patients on a liquid and pureed diet a little longer than other doctors. I would rate Dr. Chute and his staff an A++++.His bedside manner and surgical competence both were great. I had a WONDERFUL experience with him.

I am answering the questions to the left of this, my first impression of him was that he was VERY SERIOUS, competent surgeon. The office staff are all so very nice and professional. Best thing I liked about my Dr. was that he was very compentant and had been doing the surgical procedure for quite some time. Did not really emphasize on the aftercare programs, he did address the risks of surgery. I think he is a very nice, professional surgeon. When I first met him he was like I said a VERY SERIOUS person, but as we got to know each other I actually got him to smile and laugh. Both of his surgical competence and bedside manner are great!

Dr. Chute seemed a bit distant in the seminar but my first office visit removed any concerns I may have had.rnrnThe office itself was a revelation. It was almost surreal to be in a doctor's office where *everything* was considerate of a large person's physical needs. I'm so used to being shamed in doctor's offices; this good experience was ...\"startling\" is the best word I can come up with.rnrnDr Chute and his staff were also very respectful of me and my needs. I was very impressed.

rn rnrnEdmund Chute MD, SurgeonrnDr. Chute had surgical training at the University of Minnesota and was on the Bariatric Service there in 1982. He went on to complete a fellowship in Vascular Surgery, and has been a part of this surgical group since 1990. He has been performing laparoscopic gastric bypass since 2002, and now specializes in weight loss surgery. He has a special interest in laparoscopic treatment of obesity. rnrnrnWhen I first met Dr. Chute, he was very attentive and informative with me about the surgery and the process. He explained that he was here to help me and that he supported my decision regardless of what he may have been. The staff at his facility are very friendly and they treat you as if they have known you for years. They really seem to care about their patients and they are always available to answer and questions and or concerns that I may have. My surgeon is very concerned with his patient's aftercare and long term process and they believe in going strictly by the book in order to get the best results. They want you to come to all of your follow-up appointments and stated that they will even call you and follow up if you miss an appointment. He addressed the risks of the surgery and explained the things that can be done to make the risks even less. I believe based on all the research and information that I have obtained that I am in the best hands and that I will be a success story. Surgical competence and bedside manner are both great and equally important because making this decision and going through the entire commitment and process isn't something that is taken light heartedly.rn

I am very pleased with Dr. Chute. He is very caring and is very concerned about me and my recovery. I feel that I am not just another patient to him. He makes you feel like he really cares about you, unlike some surgeons.rnrnThank you Dr. Chute for helping me begin a new healthier chapter in my life.

He was very nice - quite, but nice. Very thorough. The office staff is fabulous. Everytime I called with a question, if the person that could answer the question wasn't there, I could leave a message and they would get back to me promptly.

Dr Edmund Chute of Minneapolis Bariartic Surgeons Group impressed me so much on my first visit. He really took a lot of time explaining the various methods for surgery. He gave me his opinion on which procedure would suit me considering other issues that I deal with health-wise. He carefully explained to me that WLS is just a tool to assist me with weight loss - it's not a cure-all. He strongly encouraged me to make sure lifestyle changes are included in my weight loss plan - especially around exercise. Likewsie, I was very impressed with his office staff. Every person I met and talked to was very professional and friendly. They went out of their way to make me comfortable and to answer questions for me. When I have called the office with other questions, they have been prompt to return calls, or take them right away. Putting your life in the hands of someone you may talk to and hour or more prior to surgery requires confidence in the physician and his staff. With Dr. Chute, I've found my match. I would strongly recommend him to anyone else that consider WLS in the Minneapolis MN or surrounding area.

<B>1ST OF ALL, HIS RECEPTIONIST WAS SO NICE AND LISTENED TO WHAT I NEEDED IN LINE OF OUR TIGHT SCHEDULE AS WE WERE COMING IN FROM OUT OF TOWN. THEY GOT ME IN ALREADY ON 5/17/06. ONE OF OUR MEMBERS HAD DR. CHUTE AND COULDN'T SAY ENOUGH KIND THINGS ABOUT HIM. BOTH HE AND JOANIE AND DR. DREWS FROM THE SEMINAR KEPT ON STRESSING THE FACT THAT IF YOU HAVE ANY KIND OF QUESTIONS, DO NOT HESITATE TO CALL AND WHICH NUMBERS TO USE. THE KINDNESS OF EVERYONE AT THEIR OFFICE ACTUALLY BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES AFTER BEING TREATED SO POORLY AT THE FIRST 2 CLINICS I HAD BEEN AT.rnTHEY BENT OVER BACKWARDS TO GET EVERYTHING DONE SO I COULD HAVE IT DONE ON 6/6/06, RATHER THAN HAVING TO COME BACK TO HAVE MORE TESTING OR SEMINARS TO ATTEND BEFORE MY WLS WLS.THEY KNEW THAT IT'S A GOOD 6 HRS. ONE WAY FOR US. JOANIE IS SO SPECIAL. SO JOVIAL AND PLEASANT. rnI HAD MY WLS ON 6/5/06,RATHER THAN THE SCHEDULED 6/6/06, WHICH WAS JUST AS WELL. 666. AGAIN I'D LIKE TO SAY THAT THEY HAVE A FULL STAFF THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO CALL WITH ANY QUESTION, NO MATTER HOW STUPID, ANYTIME OF THE DAY. rnDR. CHUTE PUTS A BINDER ON ALL OF HIS PTS. IN THE O.R. HE FEELS THAT THE BINDER MAKES THE PT. FEEL LESS LIKE HE'S FALLING APART. HE ALSO REMOVES A STRIP OF MUSCLE FASCIA FROM YOUR THIGH AND PUTS THAT AROUND YOUR STOMA.rn<B>THIS CLINIC HAS 5 SURGEONS. ALL THAT THESE SURGEONS DO IS BARIATRICS. NO OTHER TYPE OF SURGERIES. rnrn<B>HE HAS US LEARN HOW TO GIVE OURSELVES OUR OWN B12 INJECTIONS EVERY MONTH.rn rn <B>ON MY 3RD WK. OUT OF WLS, I WAS ON A FULL DIET, AS TOLERATED BECAUSE I HAD BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE DIETICIAN STAFF AND THEY KNEW THAT I WAS HAVING NO PROBLEMS SO FAR WITH ANY FOODS.
