I had my RNY Gastric bypass surgery October 31, 2012 with Dr Valin. From day one of my pre-op visits I have had an amazing journey thus far! My consult was with Debby Valin, she was very knowledgeable of all the procedures and was very thorough with the explanations of each. She was very helpful with me being able to decide on the proper WLS for me. She has great bedside manner and is very likeable. She will tell you EXACTLY like it is, She is a no nonsense- do what you are supposed to do type of person!! and I love that about her. All of the staff including Diane- Nutritionist and Chris- therapist are great! :) The staff are amazing!! Very nice, polite, helpful I can go on and on!!

I do not regret my decision one bit of neither my WLS choice nor choosing Dr Valin. Couldn't be happier with my experience as a whole. I would recommend his practice to anyone who is looking for WLS or weight management. :)

They was wonderful at first pre-op and one day post-up. If you have any problems forget it you are on your own, and i mean on your own!!!

i had problems with them and when i went to the meetings and talked to other people they were going thru the samething. The aftercare sucks, the people who run it allow people take over run the glass with there constance whining.

people are stuck with him because he is the only one doing the surgery. I wish there was a couple of others. Bedside manner is out the door. If you don't mind having surgery and going home and figuring it all out and not call them for anything then you will be all right. If you complain about anything they will blame because they are perfect.

Seeing as I would be funding the surgery myself and not through insurance, cost was a big factor in my decision. After researching surgeons and consulting with two of them, I chose Dr. Valin. Not only was the cost considerably less then the other surgeon, he has a reputable surgical history.rnrnThe staff is friendly, knowledgeable and convenient. Both the Psychotherapist and Dietician work from Dr. Valin's office and they have Saturday appointments.rnrnSurgery:rnrnDuring my stay in the hospital after surgery I only saw Dr. Valin twice, but his team checked in on me everyday and his PA sometimes twice. They were all very nice and did their best to put a smile on my face and reassure me that the worst was over and each day it would get better.

My surgeon was great. He was very informative and he showed great concern for my health. He as well as his staff were very nice and informative. There is a friendly atmosphere in the office.rnFuture patients should know that Dr. Valin wants to help you and start you on your way to a more healthy life. Dr.Valin emphasizes aftercare a great deal. He has a structured aftercare program. He addressed the risks of surgery. I rate him a 15 on the scale of 1 to 10. Dr. Valin reigns supreme in surgical competence and bedside manner.

Dr Valin has a very excellent reputation in the medical field in my area. You don't meet with Dr. Valin until you are approved to have your surgery. You will initally meet with the APRN Debbie, who also is Dr. Valin's wife. She was able to answer all of my questions. His office staff was very helpful and polite. After passing the psych exam and the fasting diet and the seminar I was scheduled to meet Dr Valin. He radiates with confidence without being arragant. If you are looking for a physician to hold your hand, this is not the practice for you. If you are serious about making life changes and using this incredible tool of VGB, Lap Band or Gastric Bypass then this is the physician for you. There were no surprises. Everything is layed out for you. I felt very safe in his hands having a VBG.

I first did alot of research on Dr. Valin. He was my top choice out of three. I chose him due to the fact he is a Filipino and is very qualified. My wife is Filipina and I wanted someone that she could relate to if she had serious questions to be answered. rnrnWhen I met him for the first time he was very friendly. He sat down with me and asked me a few questions and asked what surgery I was interested in. Since I am a diabetic, he recommended Bypass surgery and explained why very openly. I saw him acouple of more times prior to my surgery. His staff is the greatest. They make you feel right at home in the office. His wife is the APRN in his office and she is very friendly and very professional. She explains everything in simple terms and asks you if you have any other concerns that she could help with. The rest of the staff is also very friendly. They greet you by your first name like you are family.rnrnDr Valin came in and visited with me prior to entering the OR. He also asked if everything was alrightand any questions as soon as I entered the OR. Hisa OR staff was the greatest also. they all went out of their way to come and talk to me prior to surgery. After surgery I had some complications on bleeding inside and Dr Valin assured me everything would be alright and explained what he was going to do. He followed up with me after I was settled into my room and stopped in everyday. rnrnAs of this writing I am a 10 days out from surgery. I had some setbacks that needed his input and he responded quickly. The aftercare program seems great. I am looking forward to talking with the staff more.rnrnOn a 1 to 10 scale his surgical skills rate a 10. His bedside manner rates a 10. And overall he and his staff rate a 10.rn

Dr. valin and his office staff are very professional. I enjoyed my meeting with Dr. Valin and he was very good about answering any questions. Although he updated my husband how the surgery went while I was in recovery, I thought it was odd I never saw him after that. Not even before I left the hospital. But he is a busy man :-). I had 100 % complete trust in him and knew I was in good hands.

he was friendly made me feel comfortable by joking about my accent.rnrnit didn'trnrnfor the most part they just did they're job.rnrnhe is confident and is a good surgeonrnrnI liked him and never had a second thought about him.rnrnjust follow what he says and know that you do not f/u w/him but his wife Deb who is the PA in his office.rnrnfully aftercare is a must.rnrnyes they f/u rnrnthey really didn't stress the points of complications but I also read so much I didn't ask except about the death rate.rnrnI came thru well so I would say for him a 10rnrnI think both are good

I met with Dr. Valin on Thursday, December 4th, 2008. I was extremely happy with the time he spent with me and the explanation he gave me of the procedure. I scored a 100% on my post-op test which means I am very well prepared for what is upcoming. Meeting with Dr. Valin was nothing like I imagined (reading the blogs of some other people). My experience was wonderful.

Dr. Valin is extremely professional and has a very confident manner. He is not intimidating and I found him to be very friendly. He takes time to answer all questions without being condescending. My continued contact with Dr. Valin simply reinforced my earlier impression that I had chosen the right surgeon and practice for my RNY procedure. Dr. Valin's office staff couldn't have been more accommodating, more friendly or more attentive. Debbie Valin, APRN, is the top office staffer and is an extremely personable and medically informed person. Debbie is a straight talker, as is Dr. Valin. The practice provided a great deal of written material prior to surgery, so there were no surprises. The aftercare program is spelled out in the material and in discussions with Dr. Valin and his staff. As for risks, Dr. Valin was very direct, citing statistics on the risk of RNY surgery. My choice came after research spanning more than a year and I would rate Dr, Valin among the tops in all categories.
