I met Dr. Silvestri at Holy Name Hospital while he was doing the intro for prospective patients in December 2010. He is an absolute professional. His demeanor is always professional and even when I try to joke about my progress, he remains the consumate professional. As a surgeon and a care giver, he is the best! I would definitely use him if I were going to do this all over again. He explains things very well and put me at ease before the surgery. So much so that my wife was more nervous than I was about me having the procedure.

The office staff and Dr. Viamakis are very caring. Everyone is friendly and make you feel at ease. Dr. Viamakis and Dr. Silvestri have established a support group where people can learn from people who have had surgery at their office. On the day of my surgery someone visited me from their support staff and helped put my mind at ease about the post surgery procedures.

This is the best office and you would do very well to have either Dr. Silvestri or Dr. Viamakis perform your surgery.

Dr Silvestri was recommended to me by a fellow worker who had the surgery. He is a very caring man, who was very patient with me in asking all the questions I had for him.
To date, I have only met with him twice so I cannot tell you anymore than that however, first impressions with me are important and I was very impressed with him and his staff. That means alot to me.
He also remembers all his patiemts buy name and that says alot.
His office staff is terrific especially a woman by the name of Deborah...she is the sweetest woman and helps you in every way. She also remembers every patient's name and shows an interest in you as a person not a medical file. I like that. They have everything written out for you in a little booklet from phone numbers for testing to wht to expect before during and after you operation. Very organized!
The thing I didn't like , was the time it took to get approval from my insurance compay....almost 3 months of waiting even though I knew I was to get approval because, 4 other people in my company had the operation with the same insurance company.
The doctor stressed to me that this is just an ade to hep me loose weight. He stressed the importance in exercise especially walking and eating the right foods after surgery.
He advised me of the risks of surgery, but advised me that there are risks to every surgery.
My rating after 2 visits would be an 8.(on a 11-10 basis) I like him (so far).
I think both surgical competence and bedside manner makes up a good doctor.
