Great bedside manner, he is very personable and kind.

Went to a support gruop meeting in May 2007 Dr Strickland was the speaker I was very impressed with him. I decided at that point that I wanted him to do my surgery. When the office called to schedule my consultation I told them I wanted Dr. Strickland and was informed I would have to wait a couple of weeks to see him. I decided to wait. So far I don't have any negative comments about him.

Could not ask for a better more caring DR.

Dr. Strickland made a great first impression and he's handsome to boot. He got right to business. He told me FIRST that I could die from this surgery. Then he told me about the surgery and the positive ways my life will change. I appreiciated his honesty.rnrnThe staff is nice. Especially his nurse, Mindy. She is so tiny but seems to understand what we are going through. You can feel her compassion.rnrnDr. Strickland isn't a yes man. Read my profile. You'll see that he actually turned me down himself because he had a concern. I ws ticked off at first then I started realizing that he really had my best interest at heart and we worked through it together. It's a blessing to be able to trust someone with your life and feel safe about it.rnrnI'll update this as time goes on. I've only been to the office once but it was a good experience.rn********************************rnWell... it's been a while but it's been GREAT. I'm 2 years post-op and Dr. Strickland and staff have been there for me the whole time. I had a little problem with twisted bowel and Dr. Strickland identified and corrected the problem immediately. Through all the ups and downs (very few downs) he and his staff have been so supportive and uplifting. I stronly recommend this surgeon not only for his bedside manner and expertise but simply for being a doctor that REALLY cares for his patient's well-being.rn

My first impression of Dr. Strickland was very favorable. He really listened to me as a patient instead of telling me what we needed to do. We together weighed the risks and benefits of each surgery and decided on the way to go about my surgery. Aftercare is very important to Dr. Strickland so that he can monitor your progress and problems over the years for the rest of your life. He was very caring and answered all my questions . There is nothing negative about him as a surgeon or a doctor. I would rate him as an excellent choice to anyone who is considering weight loss surgery.

He is fantastic and is so charismatic. I am looking forward to having my surgery done by him and his associates. I attended the seminar today (Nov. 6, 2006) and the staff I have met so far are fantastic. I have my first appointment on Nov. 13, 2006 and will let you know any other thoughts then. Dr. Strickland's office staff is fantastic and so happy for everyone who gets their dates and reaches their goals. They are extremely supportive and helpful. What do I like least about Dr. Strickland - hmmmmm - can't think of a thing lol! Aftercare is a really big thing with Dr. Strickland. I cannot think of a thing he has not addressed or some member of his staff addressed for him. I am ready to do this and he is the one I trusted to do it and I have no regrets!rn

I first saw Dr. Strickland at the initial seminar May of 2005. Very informative.rnrnFeb. 20, 2006 Consultation to day was great. Their staff was wonderful and made me feel at ease. Dr. Strickland answered all my questions and was impressed that I had researched so much on OH Website.rnrnI still am very pleased with Dr. Strickland and his staff. I always get a fast response when I call with a question and their support team is wonderful. I am so glad I made the call and went to the first seminar. It truly has changed my life for the better.rnrnrnrn

I really like Dr. Strickland. He listened to everything I had to say, answered all of my questions, and really took the time to make sure I felt 100% comfortable. His staff is awesome! They bend over backwards to help me since I am driving 100 miles to them by putting my appointments together and working with my schedule. I have had consults with a total of six surgeons who perform this surgery. Two in Charleston, two in Conyway, and two in Columbia. Riverside Surgical is the best of the best in my opinion!

I saw to Dr. Strickland and I have been extremely pleased with him and his office staff. Some surgeons perform this surgery as another choice on their menu of services but Dr. Strickland has truly dedicated his practice to gastric bypass. He has seminars, requires everything that the ABS recommends, and has a support group. When I was denied the second time, his staff didn't give up on me or tell me that I was on my own to appeal. They were supportive and encouraging.

2/8/03 Since my first surgery was cancelled because of a blood clot I have had a longer time to get to know Dr. Strickland. I feel extremely comfortable with him and his staff. Obviously, there are additional issues now that I have a blood clot. He referred me to a hemotologist to see if I was hypercoagulable. Dr. Strickland and his staff have been very supportive. They have had to coordinate and discuss my surgery and medication management with my PCP and Hemotologist. I have complete faith in them!
They truly are working together and have my best interest in heart.


8/05 What more can I say...Dr. Strickland has a special place in my heart. He, and his skills, gave me the greatest gift I could have received. I can't see the man without hugging him.

I liked Dr. Strickland very much. Very personable, funny, and open. I have my consult with him Monday, July 11th for my first one on one. Am EXCITED!!
