Dr Adams was wonderful. He and his team were very thorough checking for preexisting complications before surgery. Sadly my life became complicated after surgery so I haven't kept up with aftercare like I was instructed. I weighed 350+ I'm 160 lbs now and that's after having 2 children I was told I'd never be able to carry or birth! Gastric bypass changed my life!

Dr. Adams is wonderful! He is straight with you and upfront about everything. I think he truly has the patient's best interest at heart. He is willing to answer any questions you have. Also his nurse, Mandy, is wonderful! Very helpful when you have questions!

My first impression with Dr. Gregory Adams was that he seems to be a very nice person. He really is particular about who has the surgery. I liked the fact that he is particular and that based on your medical history and talking with you if you really need the surgery more than just wanting the surgery. He is very strict but I need that kind of doctor to keep me on track. His staff is very nice, but there were a few communication difficulties between his two offices. I think if you are going to choose Dr. Adams for your surgeon you need to already be seriously committed to having WLS. They encourage after surgery support group attendance and they do require at least one support group attendance. The surgeon went over and explained the surgery risks and benefits. I would give Dr. Adams an 8 out of 10. I believe that both surgical competence and bedside manner are important. I think people respond better to doctors who seem to care about thier patients. I am so far impressed with Dr. Adams and I will be having my surgery soon.

My first impression of Dr. Adams was that the best interest of his patients is his top priority. I only had my consultation yesterday, but what made him different than the other doctors I have seen is he really makes sure that you know what you are getting into. I feel like he is very qualified at what he does, and I have 110% confidence in him. He is really personable, and he will do what he can to help you. During the consultation, he explained everything in detail, as to how the surgery is performed, the risks involved, and he even showed us the insturment they used to do this procedure. One thing that really stands out about him is that I live 4 hours away and I have to do my preop tests, and instead of me driving 4 hours again, he got in touch with a cardiolgist for me in Columbus, and called me himself to let me know about the physcian that he had referred me to. Not many doctors will call you personally, most doctors I know have "their people" call you. That really impressed me.
His office staff are just wonderful people, they really go out of their way to help you with insurance, preop tests, anything you need, and they are always nice and friendly.

I would rate Dr. Adams and his staff a 15 on a scale of 1-10 at this point of my journey.I have a long way to go yet, but my first impressions have been nothing but wonderful.

Dr. Adams is great. He lets you know all the risks up front and never hides anything from you. I would recommed him to anyone.

I personally thought that Dr. Adams is a great doctor and took the time to explain everything to me. I am quite young (23) and he wanted to make sure that this was what I wanted and wanted me to know the benafits and the risks involved in this type of surgery. He puts great emphasis on after care and support group meetings and going to the gym to take classes or just work out. He was up front with me about everything and didn't hide the fact that he has had one or two people unhappy with the surgery. Over all I think he was a great doctor and has been great at answering all of my questions. My surgery is in 8 days so i will let you know how he is in the hospital setting.

He came across as a very informed and caring surgeon. After my surgery my impression of him only became more positive. He truly cares about his patients. I thank God he is a man of faith. He shares this fact w/ his patients, I found this very comforting. His staff is great. Kathy has had the surgery so she knows what you are going through. Some people breeze through this surgery. I was not one of them. I do wish I had known how bad I might feel after surgery. I had so much pain and felt so very bad. Of course I had to be given 2 units of blood. Most of what I had heard from people was that they had no problem at all. But, not everyone has it so easy.I know this now, but because I had such a hard time it made me very anxious. I wondered what was wrong with me. He lets you know after care is very important and he expects you to do as you are told. He does have a structered program for aftercare. He lets you know the risks straight up. He does not mislead you about this not being a risky surgery. I would rate Dr. Adams as a wonderful surgeon and a really good man. He has truly made me feel that he cares about me and my success on reaching my goal. I had complications during surgery, (bleeding) and he took care of me. His bedside manner just comes naturally, I think. He was really wonderful to me.

I've seen him 3 times so far, and all my impressions have been great. He's very thorough. Because of health issues I have, he wanted me to have some additional testing done. He did an endoscopy on me. It went great, I don't remember it at all :)

He's very approachable, seems very concerned. He doesn't seem to have the "God complex" that a lot of doctors have.

His office staff has been great so far. I expect I'll learn more about them as time goes by.

Nothing negative so far, but that may change as the surgery gets closer.
