Gunaseelan Ambrose Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

I found him to be warm and he seemed sensitive to my needs and concerns. His office staff were very pleasant, seemed a tad disorganized but were friendly and made me feel comfortable. I found him to be patient and willing to take as much time as I needed for this initial consult. He drew a diagram, he explained what will happen step by step and all the risks associated with this surgery. I anticipate a successful experience with him. He has an excellent bedside manner and has come highly recommended as far as his surgical competence and care goes.rnOver time (its been three months since I had surgery)I have grown to respect him even more and truly like him. He's shown the utmost care and concern for me. In the hospital he visited frequently and made sure I was properly cared for. After my hospital stay, he checked up on me via telephone calls. He insists upon frequent follow up visits and always gives me as much time as I need when I see him. He documents everything and takes photos regularly. He has a marvelous sense of humor, which I find very important. He is very strict on aftercare, is very conservative and cautious. He has the entire package, surgical competence, a great bedside manner and a responsiblity to his patient to see that person be as successful as possible. I couldn't recommend Dr.Ambrose more, I am blessed to have found such a skilled and caring surgeon.

My first impression was good he did not refuse me becasue of my age(17) witch some Surgeons did. the staff was amazing the head person in the office was Debbie she took car of the insurance information. he really didnt empahaney after care that much he said that i was young and i would snap back like nothing.he explained all the risks i had to take a test first thought before he even talked to me about the surgery i got a 100. i would rate him a 9 pre op.

I went to my surgeons office on Thursday November 7, 2002. He was tied up in surgery and I met with his associate. She was so nice very honest. I liked her alot and I asked her questions about Dr. Ambrose and she answered everyone one of them. I did find out that Dr. Ambrose does not do Lap RNY he does open. I was ok with that because I will take it anyway I can get it. I have to have testing done and then I will set up appointment to meet Dr. Ambrose and he will give me a surgery date. If Dr. Ambrose is even half as nice as his associate I know I will like him.
