Homero Rivas Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

My Doctor is Rivas. But I am getting my surgery done at Stanford, CA.

I completely knew he was the one for me the first time I felt his energy in a surgeon meeting.
It has not changed!!!! Dr. Rivas rocks!!!
His staff is so supportive and kind in my opinion.
There is nothing I like least about my surgeon.
That they would be so well taken care of by Dr. Rivas and his staff, this has been my experience. I am so Blessed.
Dr. Rivas is all about the aftercare on his side as well as having his patients responsible for ourselves.
As I go through this journey I will have more to say.
Both are exactly what Dr. Rivas are all about. He is the best of both worlds in my opinion. He listens to what I have to say.

Dr. Rivas is up front with no sugar coating just what I need. The staff are very friendly and make you feel welcomed. As soon as I learn more I will up date this.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I chose Dr. Rivas and he has been great. I made sure to follow up on me in the hospital even though he was out of the country on vacation. I ended up in the hospital for 6 days instead of 2 but he checked on me twice a day and made sure that someone from his team came to see me twice a day to let me know what was going on. I was very impress with not only him but the people that are on his team.

The first time I heard Dr. Rivas speak was at the WLS informational meeting. He has some pretty impressive credentials, and as he spoke it was apparent how knowledgeable he was on the subject of WLS. During my consultation with Dr. Rivas, I started out very nervous. I just knew I was going to break down and start crying when I had to speak about why I needed WLS, but Dr. Rivas was so calm and soothing, I never felt the urge to defend myself. He sat close to me which made me feel like he was personally connected to my cause and he took the time to explain both the banding and the bypass surgery complete with illustrations. His consult was very thorough and I was even able to ask all the silly questions I had without any judgement from him. Also, I have been impressed with the kindness and prompt nature of his nursing staff. They never hesitate to call me and they are always polite and nurturing.rnrnI am sure I will have more to add to this post-op, but I have total confidence in Dr. Rivas and his team!

Dr. Rivas had a great Manner. He took time to explain the Process and what to expect. Made sure my questions were answered.rnrnThe Nurse, Nutritionist and Dietician were all very quick to accomidate my concerns. I was advised to call with any questions and when I call the Office Staff is quick to assist.rnrnThere is a required class pre and post op with the Dietician. If you listen and pay attention all the information you need is given to you to be successful.rnrn

I think Dr Rivas is the best! I had a good first impression of him that did not change over time. The office staff is very friendly and professional. The aftercare program is also great. Overall I would rate Dr Rivas about a 9 (on a 1 to 10 rating with 10 being the best). His surgical competence and bedside manner both are great. I guess the only negative thing that comes to mind is the phone system in his office. If it was easier to contact his staff I would have to rate him a 10.
