DR. Babineau is very professional and answered all my questions. He addressed the risks of surgery as well as what part I will play for this surgery to be successful. He and his staff are very interested in my post-op progress. He and his nurse talk at length about aftercare and encourage me to go to the monthly weight loss support group meetings. I have been very pleased with the care that I received from him. He was very reassuring before surgery and visited both morning and night at the hospital. If I had a problem, then he was contacted immediately. He has worked closely with the hospital nursing staff so that they know how to work with overweight patients. I would rate him as a top notch surgeon in all areas.

Well, we are now 2 months post-op and doing great. I thank God every day that we chose Dr. Babineau and his staff--Frieda even came to see us in the hospital. We live out of state, but Dr. Babineau and staff have answered any questions by long distance, worked with our family physician here on follow-up and provided the best care one can hope for. He carries my highest regards and recommendations.

Dr. Babineau and staff Amy and Frieda have made a stressful situation very pleasant. My daughter and I were scheduled to have surgery in another state--when our hospital halted surgeries--after all the waiting this really threw us. We found Dr. Babineau and he has been fantastic contacting us by phone and trying to set up things up long distance to accommodate our needs make this a win-win situation. We have absolutely pestered Amy & Frieda as we had to start over on insurance approvals--but they have patiently helped us--even had a smile in their voices. So now, our bags are packed--we are ready at a day's notice--so come on insurance! As for Dr. Babineau--he insisted on making sure our local hospital and surgeons could provide support for our after care--including where do they careflight to from our rural area. His thoroughness even by phone and emphasis on aftercare program demonstrates the foundational basics in good surgeon that I was looking for. Besides, I checked his credentials, checked with Texas Medical Board, and researched all I could--looked great from here. Will keep you posted after we actually meet him.

I went to see Dr.Babineau on the 11th of July
and along with several others we listened to
all the ends and outs of the surgery. Dr. Babineau was very soft spoken and very clear on what was to done as far as the surgery, and all the risks involved. After speaking to everyone as a group, he then spoke to us on an individual basis. Frieda and Amy were his office staff and they were great.. Any questions you had after you finished talking to the dr.(which you always think of something afterwards) they were right there to answer.Dr. Babineau really emphasizes the aftercare program, so that he can be sure that you are not having any unnecessary problems. The dr. made sure that you were fully aware of all the risks.I have to say that I am not going to have any problem with Dr. Babineau doing my surgery! I'm waiting for the insurance company to make a decision.
And boy does that seem like an eternity.

My first impression was that he is young and cute as a button with his scrubs and cowboy boots! And he blushed a deep crimson when I said so in the room full of surgery candidates. He explained everything carefully using visuals in a group, then speaks to each person in his office one on one, and he takes your picture. His bedside manner was marvelous. I mustn't forget his staff of Amy and Freida who are just as swell as the doc himself. Freida is so understanding and Amy is as well, and so cute and perky. I just don't have a remotely negative thing to say about my first consultation. A great team indeed!

I had a horrible experience with sevferal surgeons from the Dallas area for reasons too numerous to list, if you are interested and email me I will fill you in. I found through the grace of God Dr Babineau and his staff (especially Frieda) on Tuesday June 18th, 2001, Frieda set up and appointment for today 6/20/02 and I met with Dr B one on one for about an hour, I am scheduled for my surgery on July 9th, 2002! Dr B is a wonderful guy well educated "Ivy League" Doc (smiles) :-) ETMC which I went and visited is a top notch facility and I am going to get that chance to "get my life bacK!" from Dr B and the grace of our Lord! Thanks to the prayers and kind thoughts of family and friends, I will let you know more as I learn more. July 9th can't come soon enough!

What do you say about the Doc that saved/changed your life! I owe Dr B a whole bunch, he is just a wonderful caring individual, an excellent surgeon, and one who listens to his patients input and needs. I STRONGLY, no I insist if you need thios procedure, please call him or his nurse Frieda, or receptionist Amy! Everything went exactly as we planned and I could NOT be happier with everything so far! Again Dr B,,,Thanks for everything!

My first impression of Dr. Babineau was his professionalism and knowledge about the different procedures. Then I looked down and saw his cowboy boots with his scrubs and I really liked his realness about himself. He is a very caring doctor. He will visit you every day at the hospital. He really impressed me when I had a test done and he was there on a Saturday to make sure it went well.
Freda his nurse and Amy the receptionist are very freindly and will always answer your questions without making you feel like you interupted there day. This is why I drove two hours from Dallas. When I called Amy she was very pleasant and was able to get me in for a consultation alot sooner than the doctors in Dallas. The majority of the clinics I called in Dallas did not have the personality that Amy had. This meant alot for me. Freda was great with my insurance getting them to approve the surgery. When she called to let me know it was approve my surgery was booked very soon afterwards.
In my recovery time Freda or the doctor was always there to answer all of my questions. I can't say enough about the doctor and his staff. The other thing I like about Dr. Babineau is he explains the surgery in lamen terms and also explains why he only does the RNY procedure. This procedure in his opinion is the most successful with few risk and with great success. I lost 30lbs the first month after surgery!

Dr. Babineau is an excellent surgeon who has surrounded himself with competent, compassionate people to work with you before and after your surgery. Amy, (receptionist) Frieda (nurse) and Dr. Babineau all work together for the patient's best interests. They are available for any question, no matter how trivial, and are always supportive and encouraging. Dr. Babineau was very frank about the risks of surgery. He does stress follow-up visits also. I have been very pleased with the care and attention given by Dr. Babineau and his staff.

Perhaps it was only my personal experience, but I was a bit surprised that more testing was not done prior to surgery. Maybe I should have asked more questions about that myself. And, too, my insurance did not require a lot of those tests to approve surgery.

I'm awaiting my insurrance approval and Dr. Babineau and staff have been great. Including not getting frustrated when I call once a day to check in. I'm excited and can't wait for the approval.

What can I say, but WOW!! After searching through tons of the D/FW metroplex doctors and actually going to their 'seminars' I had all but decided there wasn't a doctor out there for me. Then I found Dr. Babineau.
If first impressions are any indication of what the future holds then I can't wait for my next visit.
My very first impression came from the first call I made to Dr. B's. I was calling to schedule my first consultation (thinking it was going to be like the 'seminars' up here with 50 other people trying to get the attention of one Doctor for questions). I was surprised to find that Dr. B actually does these weekly from HIS office, not some hospital conference room. I explained to the receptionist that I was from out of town & that I would actually be in the following Monday..SHE TOLD ME TO COME ON IN!! I couldn't believe it! In Dallas you wait months...she told me to come in just 5 days later!!
The whole staff held true to my newly-set expectations...They were very personable, happy, and helpful people. The doctor explained the procedure from A-Z and even compared it to some other procedures. He was very matter-of-fact about the risks involved and what we could expect of ourselves post-op. I really appreciated that. He also has an aftercare program as well as a support group. The Doctor and staff made me feel at home there & even though Tyler is over 100 miles away from my home...this is the doctor for me!
