I found Dr Sapala to be a very caring and understanding. He takes the time you need to answer all your question. His Staff are all very understanding and caring I do not think he would keep anyone on if they were not. It is a priority that they be caring and understanding in fact several have had the surgery so they can answer any questions that you may have. He explained all the risk factors very well. He has been doing this surgery for over 20 yrs to my knowledge. I would recommed him very highly to anyone that is interested in this surgery. I know that there have been several patients that have traveled from other states to have him do their surgery. I honestly can not think or say anything negative about him or his staff. I am sure there may be something but I am not aware of anything. My own personal expirence and that of my 2 friends were all positive expirences. He does want you to attend a support group but he has none in our area and we have not been able to get one going here as we are over an hour away from one office and 2 hours from his other office. That is the one negative thing I can say.
My consulation with Dr. Sapala went very well. Because I was so nervous, I brought my sister, a nurse with me to ask all the questions I knew I would forget. The man took his time, answered all questions, and was very kind & gentle. In the hospital before & after was great. He is very skilled at what he does and also has a very caring personality.
Had my first consultation on 10-18-99. He was great, very caring and he spent alot of time answering all my questions. I have the utmost confidencein after our first meeting.The office staff was great, Marilyn , the patient advocate is a real gem and helped with alot of my questions.
Excellent, caring,a real life saver, and a life changer. Very understand of the needs of obese people.He changed my life and I will forever be grateful to him for that.
