Dr.McDowell showed compassion for me from day one and I know in my heart I made the right choice with chosing him as my surgeon. He was very sensitive to my family and after surgery he made his self available to me to answer any questions I had. The office staff is wonderful and I have no complaints. He does stress follow-up appointments and sticking to your puree diet for 8 weeks. I would rate Dr.McDowell a 10 and both his bedside manner and surgical competence were out standing!

I went to a seminar at Baptist and Dr. McDowell was the speaker. I felt comfortable with him. He seemed compassionate and had a personal family story to tell. I know he is doing this to change people's lives and wants us to succeed. At my first meeting he was very personable. I am happy with the decision. Now I just have to go through the 3 month pre-surgery program.

My first impression of Dr. McDowell was that he was really nice. The office staff is friendly but because they are so busy it is hard for them to be as personable as they should. They often rush through answers but ultimately you get what ever is needed from them. So far there isn't anything I feel is negative about Dr. McDowell. He takes his time and answers all your questions, he even went into more detail than I desired because I have researched this procedure for the past six years and when I went in I knew what I was having done and my mind was made up. He does have a structured after care program, routine visits are scheduled at each visit and there are support groups on site, which he encourages patients to attend. He was very detailed in describing the risk, he even tells his stats for the past two years.

Dr. McDowell is truly my saving grace. If he said \"jump\" I said \"how high?\" He is absolutely the most wonderful doctor my pcp could have referred me to. I did what he said and more from following the pre-op liquid diet to doing walking around the hospital, doing breathing treatments. I was/still am commited to his regime. He has SAVED my life. I don't know if I could ever thank him enough. He said he was \"honored\" to be my surgeon and this touched me but impressed my father (as a single gal, I had to bring one of my parents since they were the supports to the initial visit). He sat with my family following the surgery and told them everything that happened and was the calmest and yet, the most sincere, any medical professional could be. I'm not sure there is a large enough rating scale for him or his nurse Pam, who has went through the surgery herself. Bless her heart, she's heard enough from me with phone calls/questions, but she's been very patient with me. rnI will say the person in charge of communicating with the insurance, getting people approved, etc . Is not the best. So if you want this done, do it yourself. She really didn't get me approved and when I was facing a possible denial her suggestion was \"get a new insurance company.\" For a single woman in her 30's who get's insurance from her work...this isn't too likely of an option. Otherwise, I am so very glad I went to Dr. McDowell!!

Dr. McDowell is a precious family man. He is encouraging and truly wants you to succeed with this surgery. He is thorough and genuinely interested in hearing you and helping you answer any questions you have. Also, his surgery coordinator, Nancy, is fantastic and is usually always available for you if you should have questions or needs. I highly recommend this fantastic surgeon.

Dr. Jamie McDowell and Dr. George Lynch performed my surgery. I was pleased with the bedside manner that they both had they were very dedicated and attentive. I'd recommend their services without hesitation! I was impressed with their nurse and office staff as well. They handled the approval process and paperwork quickly.
