My surgery is Aug 16, 2010. When I first meet Dr. Wagner he was very kind. Sat right down and talked to me on my level. Not like i wasn't as smart as him. If I had any questions he answered them and if i didn't understand his answers he would explain it to me until i did. His staff is the best. They are very informative and always there when you need a question answered. There wasn't nothing that i didn't like about my surgeon or his staff. I would rate him with a 9 no one is perfect.

He takes all the time you need to answer all questions. It is the reason I picked him over the other while making the original appointment.

He did a great job with incesions. You can hardly see them now.
Dr Wagner took my band out. Once again I met with him once before (5min this time)never saw him again. He did a good job but, I had a soma(sp)now I have a hard spot there. I was going to wait to have him fix it when I was sleeved but, found out he is leaving.

Saw him once, and once after surgery - after that never again.rn

I was very happy was my first choice of surgeons, Dr. Obeid, but when he because unavailable, I was switched to Dr. Wagner. rnrnI have been extremely happy with Dr. Wagner and his staff at Hurley Bariatric Clinic. Also, his surgical team was great, especially the nurse anesthetist. rnrnI highly recommended Dr. Wagner. He has a wonderful gentle bedside manner and he is very knowledgeable and caring.rnrnI want to add to this now that I am 10 months out - I would NOT go to Hurley Barartric even though thought their surgeons are good. Their after surgery care is so awful that I would not recommend them to anyone. Please, if you are considering surgery, don't go to Hurley!!!!

The first time i met Dr. Wanger was after my surgery. I didnt even really remember what he looked like from the picture on here.rnI was having a rough time in the hospital and he was very caring and kind. He assured me that everything was normal and I was going to be just fine. He's much younger than i expected and kinda handsome!rnHis assistant, Nancy was absolutely fabulous. i spoke with her mostly. and she was an angel to me. I felt like i got really great care from the both of them and the hospital staff. I would recommend Dr. Wagner and his staff to anyone. I've had a very pleasant experience with Hurley Bariatric. and trust me, i am VERY hard to please. rnThere is a good aftercare program at Hurley, they really take good care of their patients and are very encouraging and friendly. Everything about my experience with Hurley's bariatric program was positive. I really cant think of anything negative about how i was treated. i was very pleasantly suprised.

I was very impressed with Dr. Wagner. Being in the healthcare profession myself, I had many pointed and possibly difficult questions for him at my pre-op consultation. He was so calm and composed, he sat right down and said, \"Okay, fire away, what do you want to know?\" I asked things like how many he's done, what his mortality stats are, what his infection and slip rates are, etc. He answered everything I put to him and then explained even more. He was very informative, I asked specifics about what surgical technique he uses and told him of my desire to not have staples (Hurley uses staples for wound closure), and he provided very good (medically sound) reasons why he prefers staples and backed it up with his almost non-existant infection rate. I saw him again in the hospital pre-op and he and I again went 'round about the staples and he won the rematch too, I have staples. :) But I understand why. rnI asked for and my husband received the box my band came in along with the booklet. When I saw Dr. Wagner the next day in my hospital room I asked if I was his first AP band, and he told me that I was the first AP at Hurley, period. We again discussed sugical technique and he told me about how AP placement is very similar to VG placement. I really love his honesty! rnI realize that Dr. Wagner hasn't done hundreds of bands (maybe 50 or so), and many folks want a surgeon who has done tons of them. I was very confident in my choice based on prolonged discussions with him about his laparoscopic experience and his comfort with discussing surgical techniques. He is a very experienced laparoscopic surgeon and is Director of the Surgical ICU, I knew I was in pretty good hands.rnrnThe only negative thing I can think of about Dr. Wagner can be easily attributed to the nature of surgery, my first consultation was scheduled for 12:30pm and I finally saw him at about 4:15pm. And he still sat down and chatted with me and covered everything I needed to know. I was also told that he had emergencies come up at the hospital that prevented him from even arriving at the Clinic until about 1:30pm and I wasn't the first person waiting for him. My surgery was scheduled for 9:00am and I didn't go in until almost 10:00am, but the first case took a bit longer. It happens. I can't complain too much.

I met Dr. Wagner about 20 minutes before the surgery started. He did not seem to be in a rush and talked to my wife & I and asked if we had any questions. After surgery the Dr told us what I needed to do to get out of the hospital in a timely manner. I think Dr. Wagner did exactly what any surgeon should do when a partner is not able to perform his function. Dr. Wagner gets a 10 from me.rnrnFrom my wife: Dr. Wagner was very reassuring before & after the procedure. We hadn't met him until pre-op holding and were nervous, but his unhurried manner and confidence put our minds at ease. He came to the surgery waiting room immediately after the case to let me know Scott was fine and that everything went well and even called up to the floor several hours later to see why he wasn't in a room yet. This was the mark of really caring about his patients to me. I'm very impressed with Dr. Wagner's manner and so far things are great. Thumbs up from the wife too! :)

My first impress of Dr Wagner was he was soft spoken; but very informative! He took him time to answer all my questions; and even had consultation with us twice before my surgery! Office staff is a bit haried, and overworked; but alright. There are 3 doc's in his office; but I would recommend Dr Wagner be the first for your consideration! He was very informative and reasurring to my family! His beside manor is great! He took extra care and time with my surgery to make sure he did it Laproscopically as per my wishes. He had a huge challenge with it due to a few of my own complications. I had enlarged liver, adhesions, and scar tissue; as well as a couple of other things. Surgery took about an hour longer than anticapted; but he had a nurse inform my family what was going on; and later came out to talk to them himself! On a scale of 1-10; I would give Dr. Wagner a 9. That is a great rating! Not a 10 because sometimes you can not get ahold of him personally in a resonable amount of time; but he is a busy doctor! Thank goodness for his skills; and his kindness.

When I first met Dr. Wagner he was very unassuming, I didn't know what to make of him. He was nice, but I didn't make up my mind about him until the day of the surgery. He exceeded all my expectations. He came to see me before the surgery and he introduced himself to my family and really made them feel comfortable. After surgery, he talked to my family and explained how the surgery went, answered all their questions and they felt very informed. He has a very calming nature and is geniunely concerned about his patients. I had no complications from the surgery. I would reccommend him to everyone. He was excellent!

Very calm, professional, knowledgeable and a good listener.rnrnHasn't changed so far.rnrnOffice staff seem a bit overworked and peckish.rnrnCan't say there was anything I didn't like.rnrnMake sure you have done your homework.rnrnVery emphatic about having adequate aftercare both by my Primary Care Physician and by Dr. Wagner himself.rnrnVery forthright about risks versus benefits.rnrnOverall - a very understanding man.rnrnI also had a second surgeon, a Dr. Aram Minasian. At pre-admission testing I was NOT impressed with this man AT ALL. Waited an hour to see him and saw him for all of 12 minutes, HOWEVER....once I saw him in the hospital he was COMPLETELY different. Very informative, relaxed, unhurried and willing to answer any and all questions and reassure me that I was doing fine.rnrnAs a TEAM, these two are AWESOME!
