I LOVE Dr. Jenkins and his staff! My first consult was Feb. 1st, 2011. I had to do all of my pre-op testing which included: having blood drawn, having an upper GI x-ray, having an ultrasound of my abdomen, a psych eval, and meeting with the nutritionist. I got approved for surgery on April 8, 2011. My surgery was on May 3, 2011. Everything went great! My pain was well managed, the nurses knew what they were doing, were all very nice, and caring. Dr. Jenkins and Linda stopped by a couple times to make sure I was doing well and that I was up and walking. I was released on Thursday, May 5, and have been feeling wonderful since then. I think that Dr. Jenkins and his office have a great aftercare program. I have my post-op check up on Monday, May 16, and so far, I have nothing negative to report. I don't think I could have picked a better surgeon or staff to do my Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery!

Dr. Jenkins and his staff are very helpful in answering your questions and contacting you to acquire or pass on information. He does expect you to follow his preoperative and postoperative instructions in order to be successful in reaching your weight loss goal and strongly urges you to attend the monthly Bariatric meetings. You won't be disappointed if you choose Dr. Jenkins and his staff because they understand our struggle with being obese. Remember that bariatric surgery is only a tool and not a cure all. You have to change your way of thinking of food and eating habits. Dr. Jenkins encourages his patients to walk, walk, walk!

Dr. Jenkins and his staff have been really great! They have helped with numerous insurance issues and have really fought for me - I had surgery on November 4, 2008 - We all had a few concerns prior to surgery as I had diabetes and sleep apnea as well as a family history of strange medical conditions - My father is deathly allergic to morphine and my mother is a bleeder - All issues were addressed by the surgeon and my anesthesiologist prior to my surgery - During the surgery - and after - It was noted during surgery that my liver looked a little suspect and a biopsy is pending - I was checked on by him and his PA several times in the three days that I was hospitalized - I feel that I have the total support of him and his staff! He has been very straight forward and caring - very strict and expectant - and very determined to have all of his patients succeed.

My first impression of Dr. Jenkins was that he was very kind of understanding of what the struggles have been for obese folks. His staff is excellent and every time I call they know me by name and are extremely friendly. I am impressed by the fact that Dr. Jenkins runs a monthly support group. I really do think he genuinely cares about the people he serves. My only concern is that Dr. Jenkins office is not simply for bariatric patients and his office staff do not appear to always understand the needs of the bariatric patient. I was sent home from surgery and told by Dr. Jenkins to schedule a follow-up appointment in one week. I called immediately upon hospital discharge and was told they couldn't get me in for three weeks. This really made me worried because I went home on a liquid diet and couldn't progress without seeing him. I called back twice more to beg for another appointment. I finally reached the bariatric appointment coordinator and she fixed me up.

Dr Jenkins...is a very nice, competent and thorough doctor. I have met with him on quite a few occasions and he even did an upper GI on me to check everything out. His aftercare program is mandatory and a fee is charged prior to surgery to make sure you follow up and join his monthly meetings and follow up care with him. His office staff is very helpful and they keep right on top of things....while consistantly keeping you informed. After my surgery I will update.

My first impression of Dr. Jenkins was, that he was very nice and took time to explain every thing and answered all of my question and did not seem in a hurry or rushed.

My first impression of my Dr. Jenkins is that he ment buisness and was doing these surgeries to provide a tool for weight loss, and if you were not ready to do the things needed tolive a healthy lifei.e. quit smoking, loose weight off the liver, excersise then he would not preform the surgery. I Love his staff the PA Linda is a hoot, Heather always asnwers my questions. The more I got to know his staff the more I felt comfortable about having the surgery. Laurie does a awesome support group once a month that helps us all pre and post surgery. Dr. Jenkins get a joy out of seeing people get better and do better for there self.I will rate him pre op an 8.5 I could see him more.rnrnI love my surgeon. He is the best. The staff is great, friendly and there for you. I would recomend Dr. Jenkins and his staff to all.

My first impression of Dr. Jenkins was very proffessional but very personable. He and his staff very very considerate and caring. They gave me constant updates on my status. They are very quick to respond to inquiries and concerns. He emphasis on aftercare were excellent. He gave me alot of instructions on aftercare, exercise, nutrition and vitamins, etc. He addressed all of the risk factors involved with the surgery and post op. I was very well informed on all of the aspects of the surgery. On a scale of 1-10 I would give Dr. Jenkins a 9.99 (no one is perfect). He is the closest to perfect in a human being and a surgeon.

dr. jenkins was very polite and informative. he took the time to answer all of my questions, as well as my husband's questions. he did not seem rushed, but he did speak rapidly. he took the time to explain the procedure he would be performing and the next steps i needed to take before the request could be submitted to the insurance company.
his office staff is polite and friendly. he provided me with a binder of information for before and after the operation. he evaluated my current medications and addressed concerns about pre existing conditions.
i didnt notice any negative aspects with regard to dr. jenkins or his office staff. the only thing i dont like is the distance from my house, but thats not the fault of the office.
