What was your first impression of him/her?
To be honest in an unprofessional tone, I first thought WOW he's GOOD LOOKING. But other than that it was how knowledgeable and caring he was.
How did your impression change over time?
My impression of him only got better as time went on. He was there for me any time I needed him, even know in my recovery period. He went over everything we had discussed and made sure I understood everything before he did anything.
How would you describe his/her office staff?
They were so friendly and outgoing. Not one was rude or forced anything to me. They returned calls and emails promptly.
What did you like least about him/her?
Unfortunately the only thing I didn't like was I live in Corpus Christi, Texas and he is out of San Antonio, Texas so it was a long commute back and forth. But he's TOTALLY worth it.
What should future patients know about him/her?
GO TO HIM you will NOT regret it. He has to be by far the most amazing surgeon I've ever been to in my 30 years. I can't even really tell where he cut.
How much does he/she emphasize aftercare?
I can't really answer this considering I'm only a week into my aftercare. But he's been there when ever I needed to call him or his staff and I go to a four hour class tomorrow for his dietician to teach me a lot of things I will need to know.
How did he/she address risks of surgery?
He was to the point didn't sugar coat anything but made you understand and was caring about it. At ease. Not once was I scared to go into this surgery.
How would you rate him/her overall?
Out of a 1-10 scale I would rate him a 20! :)
Which is better, surgical competence, beside manner or are both great?
I say BOTH and this surgeon has BOTH.
Best doctor ever, I had my surgery 2 yrs ago and always concerned during my check ups. Great bedside manners and overall great physician with a great heart and amazing talent.rnOffice staff is extremely knowledgable, no bullshit, very straight forward with the risks involved no candy coating here.
I would rate Dr. Gonzalez and his staff first class. I recently had Lap-Band surgery, and the surgery went so much better than I had anticipated. Innova Hospital and Dr. Gonzalez and his staff were committed to me being well informed, comfortable after surgery and respected my privacy. rnrnWay to go guys!
