Dr. Huse is wonderful.. Very Kind thougthful. I liked him when I first met him and like him even more 18mon later. His staff is very nice and helpful. I haven't met anyone in his office that I didn't like. The only negative this is the location of his office. It is on the Far west side of Indy and I live on the Far East side. I think future patients should know he is kind caring person and if you do what he tells you, you won't go wrong. he wants you to go to dietician, and the support groups. I never went to the support groups because I live so far away from any of the group sites. I wish there was one on the East side of Indy. Dr Huse was very honest with all of us. Told us all the risks and all the good stuff too. Everyone that has this surgery is high risk because of all the medical things brought on by the excess weight. So he deals with all the negatives to make us come out positive. I rate Dr. Huse on a scale of 1-10 as a 9.9. He is very quite. If you have questions write them down and ask him if you wait to long to ask a question he will be gone from your room. He tells you what you need to know and goes on the the next patient. I learned to make a list of what I wanted to ask him about to make sure I wouldn't forget anything. I also want to praise his staff. The first week out of the hospital I had a problem. I was stupid and made a mistake. Didn't mean to just got confused with 1oz weight verse 1 oz measure. His staff was very helpful telling me what to do to get past this. They are a wonderful group. I can't recommend Dr Huse or his Staff enough. I have heard he is the best Bariatric surgeron in Indy and I believe.

I love, love, love Dr Huse!! He's a great surgeon. He has a good sense of humor and knows how to calm you down no matter what's wrong. He is very attentive and never made me feel like he was in a hurry to get to his next patient. I can't think of a single negative thing to say about him.
He is very adamant about aftercare. Lovenox shots, vitamins, lots of fluids, walking, incentive spirometer use.

I didn't feel he was comfortable with the lap procedure, he kinda hemmed and hawed around about it until put on the spot and then admitted we were good candidates for the lap, he just didn't prefer the procedure. The office staff was very efficient and his office was very busy. I didn't leave with much confidence in him.
I do not have a surgery date at this time.We have postponed it twice due to job change and subsequent insurance hold ups.

very calm, laid back guy, little sense of humor, very quick consult after class, i thought maybe he would elaborate on my situation a little more than he did, but maybe at a later date.. it was the initial consult.. very nice understanding man.. he decided what was best for my body type and i trust his decision. A+

I felt very confident that I had made the right choice once I meet him. He is a very soft spoken man. Has several years of experience with BTC/Gastric Surgeries and a very high success rate.
He explains things in great detail, risk etc. I also like his office staff although I have only spoken on the phone with them at this time.

Met him during my husband's consult. Easy to talk with. Explained risks and details of how the surgery enables the patient to lose weight. Not being hungry will be great! Have high confidence in his ability.
Open Roux en Y (RNY)was what my husband had and mine will be the same.
Good experience with surgeon for my husband's April 2004 surgery and hospital stay. For the post surgery appointment, they "fit him in the schedule" and it was a mass of people with same appointment time, but doctor spent appropriate time with him.
When he had complications of vomiting (from strictures), the office instructed us to go to ER. He has had 4 Endo's: 2 were to stretch the stomach exit and 1 was to fix a bleeding ulcer. The last endo was normal. He is now doing great.
The St. Vincent's bariatric center has a good education program. We plan on attending the support meetings starting in September. Negative aspect was setting up post surgery dietician appointment time for husband - Can't get them to call you!

very quiet but knows what he is doing, only seen him once at this point, the staff is great and so friendly, smiling and helpful.
didn't see anything i didnt like about dr. huse. his aftercare program is very personal he told me he doesn't say 3 days and gone
he goes individually because until he feels confortable w/you not having to take pain meds,no fever and able to walk and eat.. you stay...Dr.Huse doesn't leave out anything regarding risk of surgery
I would rate Dr. Huse 10.. i am very impressed
both... competent and bedside manner are important.
