John Jasper Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

First impression of him was great, very open didn't look at me like just another over weight person. The staff is wonderful any questions you might have they are willing to find every answer for you ASAP. He is very big on after care and post-op support groups that are held at the hospital every month.

My first impression of Dr. J is that he is caring, concerned and each of his patients is a person to him, not a patient only. He was warm and was very easy to talk with.

I had my first appointment with Dr. John Jasper. He is very caring....very informative and has a sense of humor! He asked a lot of questions and gave a lot of answers that I needed! I never felt rushed or unimportant! He explained the procedure and what I may expect before during and after the surgery. University Hospital does require a lot of pre-surgery testing!

The supporting staff are great. Anytime I call there is a friendly voice to answer my questions.

The part of the program that I like the most is the support groups! I think it says volumes that the surgeons, nurses, dieticians, pychologists, secretaries, etc. are all at the meetings. There are both pre-op and post-op meetings that they attend. They are there to answer questions, give support, and give out information. That really means a lot to me to know that they are so supportive of the whole program!

I would give Dr. Jasper a 10. I am awaiting the insurance approval yet, but was assured that they have dealt with my HMO in the past and they are quick to approve!

MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF DR.JASPER WAS THAT HE APPEARED TO BE KNOWLEGABLE ABOUT GBS,AND AS I MET WITH HIM AGAIN I FELT REALLY COMFORTABLE IN MY DECISION THAT I WAS REFERRED TO HIM THROUGH ANOTHER SURGEON,THE NURSES THAT WORK WITH THE PROGRAM ARE WONDERFUL,THEY ARE THERE FOR YOU IF YOU NEED THEM NO MATTER WHAT THE ISSUE IS,AND I LOVE THEM FOR THAT,THANK YOU SO MUCH CC,PS,KG,I DONT HAVE ANYTHING NEGATIVE TO SAY ABOUT DR.JASPER,HE HAS TREATED ME WITH THE UPMOST RESPECT,VERY WARM,KIND AND SWEET.IF YOU PLAN TO GO THROUGH UH PROGRAM PLEASE BE PREPARED TO 1.IF YOU SMOKE-YOU MUST STOP,AND YOU MUST BE SMOKE FREE 3 MONTHS BEFORE THEY OPERATE.2.YOU CANT GAIN ANY WEIGHT FROM THE TIME OF YOUR FIRST CONSULT WITH YOUR SURGEON TILL YOU GO TO THE OR.IT MAY BE MORE GUIDLINES,BUT THAT WAS ALL I HAD TO WORRY ABOUT,UH SURGEONS HAVE A STRICT AFTERCARE PROGRAM FOR YOU TO FOLLOW,THEY EVEN HAVE YOU SIGN LIKE A CONTRACT BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR SURGEON ABOUT HOW IMPORTANT AFTERCARE IS AFTER WLS,WHICH CONSIST OF THINGS YOU NEED TO FOLLOW AFTER SURGERY AND FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE,ALL RISK OF SURGERY WAS CLEARLY EXPLANED TO ME DURING ALL MY PRE-OP VISITS,WELL AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED I WOULD RATE DR.JASPER A WONDERFUL SURGEON,ALSO HIS ASSIST WITH MY SURGERY WAS DR.STELLATO WHICH IS ALSO ANOTHER WONDERFUL SURGEON,NO COMPLAINTS HERE,I AM SO HAPPY I DECIDED TO GO WITH THIS PROGRAM,GOD LED ME HERE AND I AM SO HAPPY FOR IT.
